I'M THE COMMUNITY COORDINATOR OVER AT PRAIRIE AND I DO A LOT OF WORK WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY, REACHING OUT TO DIFFERENT MIDDLE SCHOOLS AND DOING ALL OF THAT SORT OF THING WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY.

I ALSO HAVE BACKGROUND IN STUDENT MINISTRY AT MY CHURCH FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS AND MIDDLE SCHOOL, AND THAT HAS REALLY PREPARED ME TO BE HERE TODAY.
I ALSO HAVE TWO YOUNGER SIBLINGS IN THE DISTRICT AND MY MOM WORKS FOR LAUREN.
THANK YOU. ADDISON WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER TO BE THE ROLE OF A STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE ON THE BOARD, AND HAVE YOU EVER ATTENDED A BOARD MEETING IN PERSON OR VIRTUALLY? IF SO, WHAT DID YOU LIKE AND WHAT WOULD YOU RECOMMEND CHANGING? CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT A TIME WHEN YOU'VE WHEN YOU'VE REPRESENTED OR ADVOCATED FOR A GROUP AND WHAT THAT EXPERIENCE WAS AND WHAT DID YOU LEARN FROM IT? AND THOSE ARE BOTH GREAT OPPORTUNITIES FOR HIGH SCHOOL.
AND THEN ALSO THROUGH MY STUDENT MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES, I HAVE LEARNED THAT IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT TO COMMUNICATE TO YOUNGSTERS WITH COMPASSION AND KINDNESS IN ORDER TO MAKE THEM FEEL COMFORTABLE TO SHARE THEIR THOUGHTS AND THEIR OPINIONS.

AND I GOT TO SPEAK WITH HER BECAUSE I WAS A MEMBER OF ASB AT THAT TIME, AND IT JUST KIND OF RESONATED WITH ME, LIKE HER DIFFERENT IDEAS AND WHAT SHE WANTED FROM THE STUDENTS.
SHE WANTED TO GET THEIR INPUT. SHE WANTED TO BE ABLE TO MAKE THE SCHOOL.

IT'S CALLED CRIMSON CREW, AND IT'S A CLUB THAT IS DRIVEN TO PROMOTE SPIRIT AND ENGAGEMENT AT OUR SCHOOL, AND WE ARE WORKING ON TRYING TO GET NOT JUST THE POPULAR KIDS, NOT JUST THE ATHLETES, BUT THE PEOPLE WHO MAY NOT BE AS INVOLVED IN SCHOOL. AND WE'RE TRYING TO GET THEM INVOLVED IN IT IN ORDER TO INCREASE THEIR ENGAGEMENT AND ALLOW THEM TO ENJOY SCHOOL A LITTLE BIT MORE.
AND I THINK CRIMSON CREW AND OPPORTUNITIES LIKE THAT WOULD BE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO GET FEEDBACK FROM STUDENTS THAT WE MIGHT NOT NORMALLY HEAR FROM. DOES THAT ANSWER YOUR QUESTION? SO I STARTED IN RIVER HOMELINK FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS.
