IT IS DESIGNED TO ENGAGE OUR STUDENTS IN READING, WRITING, LISTENING, AND SPEAKING STANDARDS, AND IT'S ALSO A PROJECT THAT ENGAGES OUR PVP FAMILIES. WE KICK OFF THE UNIT BY COMMUNICATING THE PROJECT GOALS WITH THE FAMILIES. WE ASK THEM TO SUPPORT THEIR CHILD BY HELPING THEM PREPARE AN OUTFIT OR COSTUME. ELIMINATION OF ALL TEACHER LIBRARIANS. THE ASPIRE PROGRAM. MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS AND THE LIST GOES ON. WELL SUPPORTED SCHOOLS BRING FAMILIES INTO AN AREA, REDUCING HOUSING INVENTORY AND KEEPING PRICES UP WHILE STABILIZING THE LOCAL ECONOMY. [00:20:07] ON THE CONTRARY, UNDERFUNDED SCHOOLS DRIVE AWAY PEOPLE INTERESTED IN THE AREA, REDUCING DEMAND INCREASING INVENTORY, WHICH DROPS PROPERTY VALUE AND DESTABILIZES THE LOCAL ECONOMY. THE TLDR, YOUR PROPERTY IS WORTH LESS AND THE BATTLE GROUND ECONOMY IS LESS STABLE. ALL FOR WHAT? I UNDERSTAND PEOPLE ARE STRUGGLING, AND THE IDEA OF WILLINGLY ACCEPTING A NEW TAX DOESN'T RESONATE WITH PEOPLE. EXCEPT THIS ISN'T A NEW TAX. PRICES HAVE RAISED FOR SCHOOL DISTRICTS, TOO. WE'RE NOT ASKING FOR MORE. WE'RE ASKING TO SURVIVE. NEED I STRESS THIS AGAIN? IF THIS LEVY FAILS, IT IS THE STUDENTS, YOUR CHILDREN WHO WILL SUFFER THE MOST. IF THIS MOTION FAILS, THE NEXT CHANCE STUDENTS MAY HAVE TO SEE LEVY DOLLARS WILL BE IN LATE 2026. WE CAN'T GO THROUGH NEARLY TWO YEARS OF EVEN MORE OVERCROWDED CLASSROOMS, ELIMINATED EXTRACURRICULARS, REDUCED SUPPORT SERVICES FOR THOSE IN NEED, AND ERASED OPPORTUNITIES OFFERED BY OTHER DISTRICTS. HB 1296, AN ACT RELATING TO PROMOTING A SAFE AND SUPPORTIVE PUBLIC EDUCATION SYSTEM THROUGH STUDENT RIGHTS, PARENTAL AND GUARDIAN RIGHTS, EMPLOYEE PROTECTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR STATE AND LOCAL EDUCATION ENTITIES PASSED OUT OF THE LEGISLATURE AND WILL BE GOING TO THE GOVERNOR'S DESK TO BE SIGNED. IN MY OPINION, THE WORDING OF THIS BILL IS INTENTIONALLY DECEPTIVE. THIS BILL WOULD REMOVE A PARENT'S RIGHT TO EXAMINE THE TEXTBOOKS, CURRICULUM, AND SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL USED IN THEIR CHILD'S CLASS. THE RIGHT TO INSPECT THEIR CHILD'S MEDICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH RECORDS. THE RIGHT TO HAVE PRIOR NOTIFICATION WHEN MEDICAL INTERVENTION IS GIVEN TO THEIR CHILD. THE RIGHT TO RECEIVE NOTIFICATION WHEN SCHOOL STAFF HAS ARRANGED MEDICAL SERVICES OR HAS ADMINISTERED MEDICATION TO THEIR CHILD. THE RIGHT TO RECEIVE IMMEDIATE NOTIFICATION IF THEIR CHILD IS INVOLVED IN CRIMINAL ACTIVITY. THE RIGHT TO RECEIVE ASSURANCE FROM THE SCHOOL THAT THEIR CHILD WILL NOT BE DISCRIMINATED AGAINST BASED ON SINCERELY HELD RELIGIOUS BELIEFS, AND THE RIGHT TO RECEIVE NOTICE OF AN OPT OUT THEIR CHILD. A NOTICE OF AND OPT THEIR CHILD OUT OF INSTRUCTION THAT MAY CONTAIN SEXUAL MATERIAL COVERED IN SEX ED. BEFORE I WAS IN ASPIRE, I WAS STRUGGLING A LOT IN SCHOOL AS THE CURRICULUM WASN'T ENGAGING ENOUGH FOR ME AND IT WAS JUST ME LEARNING THE SAME THINGS OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN, AND IT WAS DIFFICULT TO KEEP UP WITH THE WORK, AS I JUST DIDN'T FEEL LIKE MY HEART WAS IN IT. AS SOON AS I WENT INTO THE ASPIRE PROGRAM, THERE'S A LOT MORE CREATIVE WORK AND JUST WORK. THAT WAS AT MY LEVEL. SO I FELL IN LOVE WITH SCHOOL AGAIN. IT JUST BECAME LIKE A SECOND HOME TO ME. THE PEOPLE WHO I WAS WITH TRULY UNDERSTOOD ME, AND THE WORK THAT I WAS DOING WAS FUN, ENGAGING, AND IT FELT RIGHT FOR ME TO DO IT WHILE THERE WAS SOME CHALLENGES. WHILE THEY DIDN'T MENTION MY NAME, IT WAS CLEAR A CLEAR REFERENCE TO MY PUBLIC TESTIMONY ON SENATE BILL 5181 ON MARCH 24TH. THIS KIND OF INDIRECT BUT TARGETED REMARK IS A SLANDEROUS ATTEMPT TO DISCREDIT ME AND DAMAGE MY REPUTATION. I WANT TO BE CLEAR.
