SO LIKE WHEN IT'S INTERACTIVE, THEY'RE GETTING TO KNOW OTHER STUDENTS, THEY'RE HAVING FUN. AND IT ISN'T JUST SITTING THERE AND TALKING ABOUT THEIR FEELINGS, WHICH ISN'T NECESSARILY THE GOAL OF SEO.

AND SHE ALSO MADE THE COMMENT THAT IF TEACHERS DO NOT WANT TO TEACH THE SEL, THEN THE STUDENTS WILL NOT EITHER.

AND IT WAS LIKE SIX THINGS WERE LIKE, WE WILL NOT CHANGE IT IF YOU WANT TO BE WITH YOUR FRIENDS.

IT WAS REALLY FUNNY. AND AT RIVER HOMELINK COMING UP IN THE SPRING.

I DO NOT KNOW THE EXACT DATES, BUT THEY ARE PUTTING ON THE SHOW.

AND I JUST REALLY WANT TO WANT TO HIGHLIGHT WE AT BATTLE GROUND SCHOOL DISTRICT HAVE, LIKE, THE BEST UNIFIED SPORTS EVER. LIKE, ALMOST ALL OF OUR UNIFIED TEAMS GO TO STATE AND WE HAVE THE BEST SUPPORT AND EVERYBODY HAS FUN.

SO I JUST KIND OF WANT TO HIGHLIGHT THAT UNIFIED SPORTS ARE AMAZING IN OUR DISTRICT.

YOU'RE OKAY. SO UNIFIED SPORTS ARE ESSENTIALLY SPORTS WHERE IT'S A COLLABORATION BETWEEN HELPERS.

LIKE, FOR EXAMPLE, LIKE IF THERE'S BASKETBALL, THERE WILL BE ATHLETES WHO PLAY BASKETBALL, AND THEN OTHER ATHLETES WHO MAY HAVE DISABILITIES MAY NOT HAVE HAD LIKE, THE SAME OPPORTUNITY TO COMPETE COMPETITIVELY WITH THE SAME LEVEL. SO THAT'S UNIFIED SPORTS. THEY PLAN TO PLAN A TEAM TOGETHER.

IT'S VERY SUPPORTIVE. THE GOAL IS TO UPLIFT AND HELP THOSE STUDENTS HAVE FUN, AND TO LEARN ABOUT THE SPORT AND TO COMPETE AGAINST EACH OTHER.

AND GUYS, I'M SO SERIOUS WHEN I SAY OUR DISTRICT IS THE BEST AT UNIFIED SPORTS.

AND I KNOW MAYBE IT'S NOT THAT MUCH OF A COMPETITION, BUT IT IS SO AND WE WIN.

BUT YEAH, WE'VE TAKEN FIRST IN STATE THAT MULTIPLE TIMES.

AND WHAT ELSE DO I HAVE? OH. AND BATTLE GROUND HIGH SCHOOL HOSTED STATE FOR CHEER, THE CHEER COMPETITION THIS WEEKEND WENT VERY WELL.

UNFORTUNATELY BATTLE GROUND DID NOT PLACE, BUT THEY DID COMPETE AND THEY HAD A VERY HYPE ROUTINE.

YOU CAN SEE IT ON THE BG TV 27. I THINK IT'S ON THE YOUTUBE, BUT IT'S ALSO ON THE OTHER SOCIAL MEDIAS.

SO YEAH, AND THE OTHER SPORTS ARE KIND OF IN LIMBO RIGHT NOW.

CAN I JUST TAG ON TO THAT? THE STATE CHEER COMPETITION HAS BEEN HELD HERE FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS AND IT IS WONDERFUL EVENT HAVING IN OUR COMMUNITY. WE GOT AN EMAIL FROM NICK HOFFMAN FROM WIAA TODAY, AND THEY ESTIMATE THAT THAT EVENT BROUGHT IN ABOUT $750,000 TO OUR COMMUNITY. AND HATS OFF TO THE BATTLE GROUND TEAM.

THEY DID A LOT OF OUTREACH. WE HAD A LOT OF LOCAL FOOD TRUCKS, TRUCKS AT THE HIGH SCHOOL, AS WELL AS PREPPING THE BUSINESSES ALONG MAIN STREET AND IN BATTLE GROUND FOR THAT EVENT.

AND SO SOMETHING WE'VE COME TO LOOK FORWARD TO EACH YEAR.

AND IT'S JUST A GREAT, GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF EVERYTHING BATTLE GROUND HAS TO OFFER.

SO A GREAT EVENT. YEAH. IF YOU IF YOU HAPPEN TO DRIVE BY BATTLE GROUND HIGH SCHOOL EITHER ON FRIDAY EVENING OR ALL DAY SATURDAY, YOU NOTICE THE PARKING LOT WAS COMPLETELY FULL.

SO JUST A LOT OF ATHLETES COMPETING. YEAH. AND IT'S IMPORTANT ALSO TO NOTE FOR THE STATE YOUR COMPETITION THAT ISN'T JUST LIKE BATTLE GROUND HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS THAT PUTS IT ON.

IT'S LIKE NOT ONLY STUDENTS FROM ALL OVER BATTLE GROUND HIGH SCHOOL, BUT STUDENTS FROM PRAIRIE HIGH SCHOOL COME OVER AND HELP, AND EVEN FROM THE ALES. SO MANY COMMUNITY MEMBERS.

AND IT'S LIKE, DEFINITELY AT BATTLE GROUND HIGH SCHOOL, OUR BIGGEST EVENT ALL YEAR.

AND IT'S SUPER AWESOME. AND THE TRAFFIC IS HORRIBLE, BUT IT'S WORTH IT.

I JUST LOVE TO SEE ALL THE ATTENTION THAT THE STUDENTS JUST SEEM SO ATTENTIVE TO THE TASKS AND TO THE INFORMATION THAT THEY WERE INVOLVING IN AND THEY WERE VERY ENGAGED. AND I ALWAYS LOVE SEEING, YOU KNOW, THAT RIGOROUS INSTRUCTION GOING ON.

SO IT WAS PRETTY EXCITING. I WANTED TO HIGHLIGHT ONE OF THE THINGS I WAS ONE OF THE THINGS I WAS ESPECIALLY PLEASED WITH WAS THE NOTICINGS AROUND CELL PHONE USAGE.

SO OBVIOUSLY THERE ARE CELL PHONE POLICY IS WORKING AND I THINK IT SHOWS THAT IT CAN, YOU KNOW, YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE OVERLY RESTRICTIVE AND USE BAGS AND ANYTHING LIKE THAT, JUST HOLDING STUDENTS ACCOUNTABLE.

SO KUDOS TO THE STAFF. THE OTHER CLASS THAT I WANTED TO HIGHLIGHT WAS I LOVE THE AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE CLASS THAT WE THAT WE WENT INTO, AND JUST THE SETUP OF THE CLASS AND THE ROUND, AND HOW THE STUDENTS WERE ALL VISUALLY BEING ABLE TO SEE THE TEACHER AND JUST WHAT WAS GOING ON, TOTALING ENGAGEMENT FROM THE STUDENT SIDE.

I WOULD SAY MONTH AND A HALF, A LOT OF PEOPLE'S TIME, PROBABLY A GOOD PORTION OF EACH OF THOSE WEEKS.
