SO PLEASE GET ON TO THE WEBSITE AND TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR TRAINING REQUIREMENTS.
ANY WSSDA UPDATES FROM ANYONE? DID GET AN EMAIL FROM DIRECTOR WATRIN ABOUT THE BOARD OF DISTINCTION APPLICATION OPENING UP SOON.
SO WE'LL BE WORKING ON THAT AS A BOARD OVER THE COMING MONTHS.
I BELIEVE IT'S DUE IN SEPTEMBER.
WE DON'T HAVE ANY TOURS ON THE BOOKS AT THIS POINT SINCE SCHOOL IS OUT FOR SUMMER.
AND THAT WRAPS UP OUR COMMITTEE REPORTS.
ANYTHING ELSE ANYBODY WANTS TO ADD TO THAT BEFORE WE MOVE ON? I LOVE CRICKETS.
ANYTHING ANYBODY WANTS TO SHARE.
FESTIVALS ATTENDED JUST THE HARVEST DAY PARADE.
HARVEST DAY PARADE. I SAID IT'S A QUIET JULY.
[7. Superintendent and Staff Updates]
THANK YOU, MS.. MADDUX.I'VE JUST BEEN WORKING DILIGENTLY AT THE DISTRICT OFFICE, TAKING CARE OF SOME THINGS.
SUMMER IS ALWAYS PRODUCTIVE FOR US, SO I'M GOING TO TURN IT RIGHT OVER WITH BIG NEWS TO OUR TEACHING AND LEARNING REPORT TO DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT SHELLY WHITTEN. AND I DON'T HAVE A LOT, BUT JUST TODAY WE FOUND OUT THAT WE WERE APPROVED FOR THE WAIVER DAYS FOR THE 2324 SCHOOL YEAR. SO THAT'S GOOD NEWS FOR US.
OF COURSE, NEXT WEEK STARTS OUR BUSY AUGUST FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING.
WE ARE WELL UNDER WAY, BUT THAT'S ABOUT IT FOR US.
THANK YOU, SHELLEY. NEXT UP IS MICHELLE REINHARDT HUMAN RESOURCES REPORT.
JUST A COUPLE OF ITEMS TO SHARE.
IT HAS BEEN A BUSY MONTH IN H.R..
YOU PROBABLY CAN SEE THE PERSONNEL REPORT.
THERE'S A LOT OF HIRING THAT'S GOING ON.
I DO WANT TO JUST SHARE TWO AREAS THERE OR BRING TO YOUR ATTENTION TWO AREAS.
THE FIRST ONE IS ON THE CLASSIFIED REPORT.
WE ALWAYS LIKE TO HONOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE RETIRED AND HAVE PUT IN MANY YEARS WITH OUR DISTRICT.
AND SO THERE ARE TWO INDIVIDUALS THERE THAT I'D LIKE TO JUST SHOUT OUT TO PAM MASON AND VIVI WHITT.
BOTH OF THESE WONDERFUL LADIES HAVE BEEN IN HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH OUR DISTRICT FOR ALMOST 30.
PAM MASON, I THINK ALMOST 30 YEARS AND VIVI, OH, AT LEAST 37, 36.
[00:10:07]
SO I THINK SHE COULD RUN THE DISTRICT.SO ALL THOSE QUESTIONS THAT YOU GUYS HAD EARLIER, I THINK SHE COULD PROBABLY ANSWER THOSE.
SO I KNOW KEVIN'S IN BIG TROUBLE.
BUT WE DO WANT TO GIVE THEM A SHOUT OUT AND WISH THEM ALL THE BEST IN THIS NEXT ADVENTURE.
I DO ALSO WANT TO SHARE I HAVE LUKE LACOUNT HERE.
MANY OF YOU KNOW LUKE AS OUR DIRECTOR OF INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL LEVEL.
HE HAS SINCE TAKEN ON THE DIRECTOR OF HR POSITION.
AND SO SHE HAS TAKEN THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR POSITION THERE AT PRAIRIE AND WE'RE VERY EXCITED FOR HER.
WE'LL MISS HER, BUT WE ARE EXCITED TO HAVE LUKE IN HR AND HE WILL BRING A WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE AND PEOPLE ARE VERY EXCITED TO HAVE HIM IN OUR DEPARTMENT. ALSO JUST WANT TO TOUCH BASE ABOUT CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS.
WE HAVE TAKEN THE MONTH OF JULY OFF, BUT WE PICK BACK UP JULY 31ST AND AUGUST 1ST, SO HOPEFULLY I'LL HAVE MORE INFORMATION TO SHARE AT A LATER TIME. IN ADDITION TO ALL KINDS OF HIRING THAT WE'RE DOING, WE STILL HAVE WE STILL HAVE PARAEDUCATOR POSITIONS THAT WE ARE DESPERATELY TRYING TO FILL.
AND SO WE'VE REALLY FOCUSED VERY HARD THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS ON RECRUITING AND ADVERTISING IN WAYS THAT WE ARE NOT USED TO ADVERTISING.
SO SOCIAL MEDIA JUST IN THE PARADE.
WE ARE TRYING VERY HARD TO GET SOME OF THESE POSITIONS FILLED.
IF YOU ARE SOMEONE OUT THERE THAT IS INTERESTED IN WORKING WITH STUDENTS AND WANTING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE, THAT IS A GREAT PLACE TO START SO THAT WE HAVE THAT HIRING EVENT TOMORROW AFTERNOON AT KC CENTER FROM 2 TO 6.
AND LASTLY, WE ARE, WE'VE WRAPPED UP OUR PRC PROCESS, THE POSITION REVIEW COMMITTEE PROCESS WITH PSC, WITH OUR CLASSIFIED ASSOCIATION, AND I HOPE TO HAVE A SUMMARY OF OUR OF OUR FINDINGS AT OUR NEXT MEETING AND SHARE THE SHARE A SUMMARY OF ALL OF THAT.
SO AND THAT'S ALL I HAVE FOR HR.
THANK YOU, MICHELLE. NEXT UP IS OUR FINANCE REPORT.
MICHELLE SCOTT. GOOD EVENING, BOARD.
THE FIRST UPDATE I'M GOING TO START WITH IS ENROLLMENT.
AND SO THIS IS JUST OUR FINAL REPORT OF ENROLLMENT.
WE'VE BEEN BRINGING THESE TO YOU EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS TO KEEP YOU UPDATED ON ENROLLMENT.
WE DID SHOW ON THE NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE.
WE DID SHOW THAT WE HAD QUITE A DIP IN JUNE AND AND TRENDED A LITTLE BIT DOWN MORE THAN NORMAL.
AND IT JUST GOING THROUGH THERE WAS QUITE A FEW TRANSFERS OUT OF THE DISTRICT.
SO WE HAD ABOUT 48 TRANSFERS OUT OF THE DISTRICT AND THEN 15 UNKNOWN STUDENTS. SO IT WAS IT DID TREND DOWN.
SO OUR ANNUAL AVERAGE FTE IS 11,888 AND THE PRE-PANDEMIC ANNUAL AVERAGE.
NOW THIS IS ONLY FOR FTE, THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE RUNNING START.
SO FOR JUST FOR THE FTE, FOR ALE AND COMPREHENSIVE, THAT'S A 557 LESS THAN THE PRE-PANDEMIC LEVELS. NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE.
SO OUR HEADCOUNT FOR THE DISTRICT, AGAIN, THAT KIND OF TRENDED DOWN.
YOU CAN SEE WE'RE STILL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD HERE BETWEEN ALL OF THESE SCHOOL YEARS AND STILL NOT UP TO OUR 18, 19, 19-20 NUMBERS YET.
AND AND OUR ALE NUMBERS ALSO KIND OF FOLLOWED THE TREND OF DIPPING DOWN, ENDING AT 1,678.39 FOR FTE.
SO AND THOSE NUMBERS DIPPED DOWN BELOW THE 2021 SCHOOL YEAR.
YOU CAN SEE WE'RE DOWN BELOW BECAUSE ALE INCREASED SO MUCH DURING THE PANDEMIC.
[00:15:04]
NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE.MIDDLE SCHOOL CTE REMAINED FLAT.
AND THEN OUR ALE FOR HIGH SCHOOL CTE.
SO WE DO HAVE A SMALL PROGRAM FOR ALE CTE.
AND THEN SPECIAL EDUCATION IS THE NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE.
AND SPECIAL EDUCATION ON HAS BEEN GROWING.
AND SO THAT HAS AS MORE STUDENTS HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED IN THE POPULATION.
SO WE ENDED WITH 1813 IN SPECIAL EDUCATION.
AND THEN YOU CAN SEE IN OUR TRANSITIONAL BILINGUAL PROGRAM, AGAIN, STILL GROWING 1325.
THERE'S A LITTLE DIP UP THERE IN MAY AND THAT WILL BE CORRECTED.
THERE WAS A THEY THEY JUST THE FORMULA GOT PUT INSERTED INCORRECTLY SO IT WOULD IT DOESN'T BUMP UP IN MAY IT DOES FOLLOW TO JUNE SO AND THEN THE REST OF THE SLIDES ARE JUST ADDITIONAL INFORMATION BY BUILDING FOR YOUR FOR ANYONE TO LOOK AT IF THEY HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
AND THAT'S ALL I HAD FOR ENROLLMENT.
THE NEXT THING UNLESS THERE'S ANY QUESTIONS.
THE NEXT THING I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT WAS OUR FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM IS WE HAVE SOME CHANGES COMING UP FOR NEXT YEAR AND OUR CONTRACT IS ON OUR CONSENT AGENDA AS WELL AS OUR MEAL PRICES FOR NEXT YEAR.
AND SO I JUST WANTED TO KIND OF JUST GIVE YOU JUST A BRIEF INFORMATION.
I'VE ALREADY PUT INFORMATION WITHIN THE BOARD DOCUMENTS, BUT AS YOU KNOW, THE STATE DID INCREASE FUNDING FOR UNIVERSAL MEALS.
AND SO BATTLE GROUND HAS THREE SCHOOLS, COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOLS THAT WILL QUALIFY NEXT YEAR.
AND BUT WITH THE INDIRECTS THAT WE'RE GOING TO RECEIVE FROM FEDERAL AND STATE FUNDING, WE'RE GOING TO USE THOSE INDIRECTS TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL STUDENTS IN GRADES, ALL GRADES K THROUGH FOUR, NO MATTER WHAT SCHOOL YOU'RE ATTENDING, WILL HAVE FREE MEALS NEXT YEAR.
AND SO THOSE INDIRECTS WILL GO AND THE THE THE THIS IS JUST FOR ONE YEAR PROGRAM BECAUSE THE NEXT YEAR WE ANTICIPATE ALL SCHOOLS ALL ALL GRADE K THROUGH FOUR SCHOOLS WILL QUALIFY UNDER THE UNIVERSAL MEALS.
SO I WANTED TO COVER THAT WITH YOU BECAUSE THAT WAS IMPORTANT AND WE'RE EXCITED TO OFFER THAT FOR NEXT YEAR SO THAT IT MAKES IT CONSISTENT AS WE TRANSITION INTO THE 2425 SCHOOL YEAR.
AND SO 23, 24 WILL BE ALL STUDENTS, K THROUGH FOUR WILL BE COVERED FOR UNIVERSAL MEALS AND THAT'S FOR BREAKFAST AND LUNCH. I ALSO WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT ON THE, UH, THE PRICE FOR MEALS NEXT YEAR, THERE IS NO INCREASE.
WE ARE NOT INCREASING PRICES FOR LUNCH OR BREAKFAST.
ALL PRICES WILL REMAIN THE SAME AS THIS YEAR.
THE PROGRAM IS SUSTAINING ITSELF, SO WE'RE PLEASED TO BE ABLE TO OFFER THAT.
THERE'S NO INCREASE IN MEAL PRICES.
I DO HAVE ONE SLIGHT, SLIGHT, SLIGHT CORRECTION ON THE MEAL PRICES.
IT DOES SAY PRIMARY SCHOOLS AND IT REALLY SHOULD SAY GRADES K THROUGH FOUR.
THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR BREAKFAST OR LUNCH.
I WANT TO BE CLEAR. IT'S ALL K FOR STUDENTS THROUGHOUT OUR DISTRICT, NOT JUST THE PRIMARY SCHOOLS.
IT INCLUDES OUR ALTERNATIVE LEARNING PROGRAMS WHERE MEALS ARE SERVED.
UM, AND THEN FINALLY WE HAVE OUR CONTRACT RENEWAL IS INCLUDED IN THE CONSENT AGENDA AND THERE IS A, A ONE OF THE THINGS I DIDN'T HAVE BEFORE WE GOT THIS UPLOADED IS WE DO HAVE OSPI HAS APPROVED THE RENEWAL.
[00:20:07]
IT DOES GO TO THEM BEFORE IT IS BEFORE WE CAN SIGN IT.SO FOR THEIR APPROVAL, THE CPI IS IN THE CONTRACT.
IT'S PART OF THE IT'S ALLOWABLE TO HAVE A CPI INCREASE IN THE CONTRACT AND WE ARE IN THE FOURTH RENEWAL.
SO THE FIRST. SO IT'S A FIVE YEAR CONTRACT.
THE FIRST ONE IS THE CONTRACTED YEAR AND THEN YOU HAVE FOR RENEWALS AFTER THAT.
SO WE'RE IN THE NEXT YEAR WILL BE OUR FOURTH YEAR IN THE RENEWAL.
SO THAT WILL BE THE END OF THE FIVE YEAR CONTRACT.
SO WE WILL BE PREPARING TO GO OUT FOR A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL AND AND THAT WILL BE A WE'LL START IN THE FALL PREPARING THAT.
WE'RE ACTUALLY ARE TAKING A CLASS UP AT IN ELLENSBURG THAT WE'RE GOING TO GO TO JUST TO MAKE SURE WE HAVE THE LATEST INFORMATION FOR CREATING A RFP BECAUSE THERE'S A LOT OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS.
SO YOUR RFP IS THERE'S A TEMPLATE THEY ACTUALLY GIVE YOU THAT WILL ACTUALLY HELP GUIDE YOU THROUGH IT SO THAT YOU MAKE SURE YOU MEET ALL OF THE FEDERAL REQUIREMENTS OF A FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM BECAUSE THERE ARE MANY, MANY, MANY IN THEM.
SO AND THEN I'D LIKE TO LET YOU KNOW THAT THE FOOD SERVICE DIRECTOR, JAMES AND ROBIN ARE HERE TODAY.
AND LET ME SEE IF I'VE MISSED ANYTHING AT ALL.
AND WE'VE ALREADY MET WITH THE COMMUNICATION DEPARTMENT TO START.
COMMUNICATING THAT INFORMATION OUT BECAUSE WITH ONLY THREE SCHOOLS THAT REALLY, TRULY ONLY QUALIFY FOR UNIVERSAL MEALS WILL STILL NEED FAMILIES TO SUBMIT FREE AND REDUCED MEAL APPLICATIONS.
SO WE KEEP OUR STATUS SO THAT WHEN WE GO INTO THE 24, 25 SCHOOL YEAR, WE'LL BE COLLECTING THOSE APPLICATIONS AND SO THAT WE'LL HAVE THOSE AVAILABLE FOR KEEPING OUR LEVELS AT THE LEVELS THAT MAKE US QUALIFIED FOR THE FOR THE MEALS.
ANY QUESTIONS? THANK YOU, MICHELLE. NEXT UP, OPERATIONS REPORT.
KEVIN JOLMA. WELL, WE'VE BEEN WE'VE BEEN BUSY THIS SUMMER.
BOTH TURF FIELDS AT THE PRAIRIE HIGH AND BATTLE GROUND, WE'RE GOING TO GIVE THEM A FULL GROOMING DISINFECTION AND BOUNCE TESTING FOR SAFETY.
AUGUST 14TH AND 15TH, CAM COVERED PLAY AREA.
I JUST THAT'S DUE SEPTEMBER 15TH, THE COVERED PLAY.
WE ALSO REMOVED A STAGE WALL AT MAPLE GROVE RIVER HOMELINK FROM THE SMALL GYM UP TO THE STAGE.
THEY'RE GOING TO BE BUILDING SOME PROPS UP IN THAT AREA.
AT MAPLE GROVE PRIMARY, WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF CONVERTING A SCIENCE ROOM SINCE THAT WAS A MIDDLE SCHOOL BEFORE AND IT WAS A SCIENCE LAB WITH PENINSULAS AND SINKS AND GAS AND BURNERS.
IT DIDN'T SERVE A PRIMARY SCHOOL VERY WELL.
SO WE'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF WE REMOVED ALL THE PENINSULAS AND WE'RE GOING TO PUT A CARPET, PUT CARPET IN THAT ROOM THAT WILL ALLOW A VERY LARGE ROOM THAT'LL HANDLE MAPLE GROVE'S EXPANSION FOR NEXT YEAR.
PRAIRIE HIGH, OUR BAND ROOM CABINETS, THE SHIPPING GOT DELAYED.
THEY'RE ARRIVING NEXT TUESDAY.
WE'LL HAVE THAT DONE THIS SUMMER.
[00:25:05]
WE WE'VE USED THAT AS A JV FIELD, A COOPERATION BETWEEN THE CHURCH AND US.THE CHURCH IS EXPANDING NOW AND THEY GAVE ME FINAL NOTICE OF EVICTION A FEW MONTHS AGO THAT WE WILL NOT HAVE THAT FIELD NEXT SPRING.
YEAH, IT'S DESIGNED AND IN FOR PERMITS.
ALMOST ALL OF IT DONE THIS WINTER.
I WILL GET IT ALL DONE BEFORE NEXT FALL OR NEXT SPRING.
UM, IF YOU'VE BEEN BY THE TRACK, IT'S ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL.
17. IT WAS READY AND IT'S IT'S.
NOW, UP IN YACOLT, WE JUST FINISHED OUR KITCHEN FLOOR REDO.
IT'S AN EPOXY SLIP RESISTANT FLOOR.
WE PULLED OUT ALL THE STAINLESS STEEL AND DISHWASHERS AND REDID THEIR FLOOR.
NOW, JUST AN OVERVIEW ABOUT CAM.
I'LL LET YOU KNOW WHERE WE'RE AT.
THE HIGH SCHOOL MODULAR, THE CLOSEST ONE IS READY FOR OCCUPANCY.
FOR ALL INTENTS AND PURPOSES, WE'VE MOVED IN ALL OF OUR ALL OF OUR DESKS, ALL OF OUR TEACHERS DESKS.
IF SCHOOL STARTED TOMORROW, WE'D BE OKAY ON THAT ONE.
THE MIDDLE, THE 3 TO 6 MOD IT IS PROCEEDING AT RAPID PACE.
THE FLOORING IS DOWN, THE ELECTRICAL IS ALL WORKING.
PLUMBERS, PLUMBING IS ALL COMPLETE.
WE WILL BE MOVING IN THE FIRST WEEK OF AUGUST.
INTO THAT, OUR ADMIN/LIBRARY/CAFETERIA BUILDING WILL BE ARRIVING AUGUST 15TH. OBVIOUSLY WE'RE GETTING CLOSER.
WE'LL HAVE THAT SET AND AFTER THE AS SOON AS TEACHERS A WEEK LATER, THE SITE WILL BE REALLY CLOSED OFF ON THE SOUTH SIDE, IT'LL BE VERY SAFE.
AND I'VE I'VE LET THEM KNOW THEY'LL BE IN THERE IN OCTOBER.
I'M VERY PLEASED. THANK YOU, KEVIN.
OUTSTANDING. I APPRECIATE ALL YOUR WORK.
AND NEXT IS OUR COMMUNICATIONS REPORT AND DIRECTOR.
THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, YOU'VE SEEN ME HIGHLIGHT DIFFERENT EXAMPLES OF THE COMMUNICATIONS TEAM'S WORK.
AND WE WANTED TO TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE AWARDS THAT OUR TEAM RECEIVED RECENTLY.
SO WE SUBMITTED EIGHT DIFFERENT PIECES TO THE WASHINGTON SCHOOL PUBLIC RELATIONS ASSOCIATION'S ANNUAL CONTEST, AND THIS IS COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENTS FROM DISTRICTS ACROSS THE STATE ALL SUBMIT THEIR BEST WORK FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR, AND THEN THEY CHOOSE DIFFERENT ONES TO RECOGNIZE.
SO I'LL TALK JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT THE ANNUAL REPORT.
AS YOU KNOW, THIS IS REQUIRED IN POLICY THAT WE PRODUCE EVERY YEAR.
THIS YEAR IT WAS RECOGNIZED AS THE BEST IN CATEGORY FOR DISTRICTS WITH MORE THAN 10,000 STUDENTS.
SO THAT WAS PRETTY NEAT TO HEAR.
THIS IS SOMETHING WE MAILED TO ALL HOUSEHOLDS AND BUSINESSES IN THE DISTRICT, ABOUT 40,000 COPIES.
AND WE'LL BE WORKING ON A NEW ISSUE SOON.
[00:30:07]
PUBLICATIONS AWARD CONTEST, EXCUSE ME.SO WE WERE PRETTY EXCITED TO SEE THAT.
SO I WANTED TO JUST KNOW YOU WERE WRONG.
YOU WERE UP FIRST. COMMUNICATION IS IMPORTANT.
I WANTED TO JUST TAKE A MOMENT TO TALK ABOUT THIS STORY THAT WE DID ABOUT THE ANATOMY OF THE VIRTUAL DISSECTION TABLE AT BATTLE GROUND HIGH SCHOOL, WHICH IS ONE OF THE WON THE AWARD OF EXCELLENCE.
AND I CAN'T REALLY TAKE CREDIT FOR A STORY LIKE THIS BECAUSE THIS IS EASY TO WRITE WHEN YOU HAVE.
WHEN YOU HAVE STUDENTS AND A TEACHER WHO ARE SO EXCITED TO SHOW OFF WHAT AN INVESTMENT BY THE DISTRICT IS ACCOMPLISHING IN THEIR ABILITY TO LEARN A VERY NECESSARY SKILL AND ONE THAT WILL SERVE THEM WELL.
THEY CAN SEE DIFFERENT WAYS THAT OUT DISEASE MIGHT AFFECT A BODY OR A WOUND OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.
AND IT WAS JUST EXCITING TO SEE THEIR EXCITEMENT ABOUT THAT, THE ACCESS TO IT.
I GOT TO GIVE CREDIT TO TRACY GODFREY, THE HEALTH SCIENCES ADVANCED HEALTH SCIENCES TEACHER AT BATTLE GROUND HIGH SCHOOL, AND HER ABILITY TO REALLY BRING THE MOST OUT OF THAT TECHNOLOGY. SO THAT WAS A FUN STORY TO DO AND I WAS GLAD TO DO IT.
BACKSLIDE. YEAH, AS YOU CAN SEE HERE, THIS IS THE ASPIRE HIGHLY CAPABLE PROGRAM BRANDING. AND THIS PROGRAM IS RUN BY JENNIFER MERRITT.
AND IT IT WAS APPROACHED THAT THEY NEEDED A NEW BROCHURE.
BUT OF COURSE WE CAN'T JUST DO A LITTLE BROCHURE WITHOUT ACTUALLY LOOKING AT THE ENTIRE PICTURE OF WHAT DOES THIS PROGRAM NEED, WHAT DOES IT MEET AND HOW DOES IT ALIGN WITH OUR STRATEGIC PLAN? WELL, EACH AND EVERY STUDENT IS PART OF OUR STRATEGIC PLAN, AND THAT INCLUDES ALL THE HIGHLY CAPABLE STUDENTS.
SO THIS YEAR OR LAST YEAR, WE HAD FORMS TRANSLATED SO THAT MORE STUDENTS COULD TELL THEIR FAMILIES ABOUT THIS PROGRAM AND COME IN AND GET TESTED AND AND MEET THEIR NEEDS FOR ACADEMIA.
I JUST WANT TO END WITH A QUICK THANK YOU TO DENNY AND SHELLY AND OUR WHOLE TEAM FOR THEIR SUPPORT OF THE WORK THAT WE DO, AS WELL AS TO YOU, THE BOARD FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF COMMUNICATION AND PUBLIC RELATIONS.
SO THANK YOU. OUTSTANDING JOB.
CONGRATULATIONS, YOU GUYS. AND THAT'S IT FOR THE SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT.
ALL RIGHT. WELL, WE WILL MOVE ON TO CITIZENS COMMENTS.
[8. Citizens' Comments]
WE HAVE THREE CITIZENS SIGNED UP TONIGHT.OUR STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE, SORA TOLLY, WILL BE NOTIFYING THE SPEAKER WHEN THEY HAVE 30S.
AND THEN WHEN YOU'RE OUT OF TIME, WE DO LIMIT COMMENTS TO THREE MINUTES.
SO FIRST UP, WE HAVE TIFFANY SHUPE.
IF YOU'D LIKE TO COME UP. THE SUMMER'S GOING WELL, AND I AM HERE TODAY TO LISTEN.
ALL RIGHT. YOU'RE GOOD. HELLO THERE.
I AM HERE TODAY TO DELIVER TO SUPERINTENDENT WATTERS THE FINAL AND COMPLETE PERSONNEL COMPLAINTS.
I HAVE COMPLETED, BUT HAVE YET TO FILE PAPERWORK FOR DUE PROCESS HEARING, WHICH HOLDS A TWO YEAR TIMELINE OFFERING A BROADER EXAMINATION OF THE ISSUES AT HAND COMPARED TO THE ONE YEAR TIMELINE FOLLOWED BY OSPI WITH THE PENDING PERSONNEL COMPLAINTS AND THE POSSIBILITY OF FILING FOR DUE PROCESS, I CONTINUE TO REMAIN HOPEFUL FOR A
[00:35:04]
COMPREHENSIVE INVESTIGATION FROM THE OFFICE OF CIVIL RIGHTS.WHEN I FILED WITH THE OFFICE OF CIVIL RIGHTS IN APRIL, I REQUESTED A WAIVER TO BACKDATE MY COMPLAINT TO 2018, WHICH WAS WHEN I INITIALLY FILED MY ORIGINAL OSPI COMPLAINT.
MY CONCERNS REMAIN ACTIVE AND I AM OPEN AND COMMITTED TO SEEKING A RESOLUTION THAT ADDRESSES ALL ASPECTS OF THE ISSUES AT HAND, AS I HAVE CONVEYED NUMEROUS TIMES TO DISTRICT PERSONNEL MY INTENTION IS NEVER TO RESORT TO THIS COURSE OF ACTION.
ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS UNDERSTAND WHY MY STUDENT WAS FACING CHALLENGES IN ACHIEVING HER GOALS AND TO DEVELOP AN EFFECTIVE PLAN THAT SUPPORTED HER.
AT A YOUNG AGE, SHE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH TRAUMA DISORDER, ANXIETY DISORDER AND ADHD COMBINED TYPE.
THESE DIAGNOSES PROVIDE CRUCIAL INSIGHT INTO THE COMPLEX SET OF CHALLENGES SHE HAS FACED, AND THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN SERVED AS A GUIDE FOR DEVELOPING AN APPROPRIATE AND EFFECTIVE IEP AND SUPPORT PLAN.
HOWEVER, THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM HERE AT BATTLE GROUND HAS FAILED HER IN SEVERAL CRITICAL WAYS.
AS HER GRANDPARENT AND GUARDIAN THROUGHOUT HER 14 YEARS OF LIFE, I NOW FIND MYSELF, PARDON ME, COMPELLED TO RELINQUISH HER CUSTODY AS SHE WILL BE RESIDING IN A NEW DISTRICT WITH HER MOTHER.
THIS IS A HEART WRENCHING SITUATION AND THE EMOTIONAL TOLL IS IMMEASURABLE.
SO, SADLY, I AM HERE TO PRESENT SUPERINTENDENT WATERS, WHO I MUST SAY IS ALSO MY FRIEND.
AND SO THIS IS REALLY HARD FOR THE BOTH OF US.
SO I'M HERE TO PRESENT SUPERINTENDENT WATERS WITH THE TRANSFER PAPERS AND REQUEST HIS SIGNATURE, FULLY AWARE THAT THIS OUTCOME IS A DIRECT RESULT OF THE BATTLE GROUND SCHOOL DISTRICT'S LACK OF ACTIONS TO PROPERLY IDENTIFY AND SERVICE MY CHILD'S NEEDS.
SHE DESERVES JUSTICE FOR THE UNSPEAKABLE ORDEAL SHE HAS SUFFERED UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF THIS TEAM, AND I WILL PERSISTENTLY ADVOCATE FOR THAT JUSTICE UNTIL SHE IS MADE WHOLE.
I HAVE BEEN PROTECTING HER WELL-BEING FOR 14 YEARS, AND THIS CASE WILL BE NO EXCEPTION.
THE FORM IS IN HERE IN THE BACK.
AND I APPRECIATE YOUR SIGNATURE.
THANK YOU. THANK YOU, TIFFANY.
THANK YOU. EUNICE, YOU'RE UP NEXT.
GOOD EVENING, BOARD. MY NAME IS EUNICE INGERMANSON AND MY PRONOUNS ARE SHE HER? I LIVE IN THIS SCHOOL DISTRICT.
WHAT I'M ABOUT TO SAY IS DIRECTED TO YOU AND TO EVERYONE WHO IS LISTENING.
I RECENTLY INTRODUCED TO YOU AN ORGANIZATION THAT I'M A PART OF NAMED CALL TO LOVE, WHICH INTERFACES WITH BOTH THE FAITH COMMUNITY AND THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY TO BUILD BRIDGES, PROVIDE SUPPORT AND PROMOTE BOTH HEALING AND INCLUSION.
WE'VE HAD INTERESTING CONVERSATIONS WITH PEOPLE IN ONE OF THESE CONVERSATIONS, AN ELDERLY GENTLEMAN TOLD ME VERY CONFIDENTLY THAT THE ISSUE THAT WE TALK ABOUT DOESN'T CONCERN HIS FAMILY BECAUSE THERE ARE NO LGBTQ PEOPLE IN HIS FAMILY.
HOW DID HE KNOW THAT? BECAUSE HE SAID WE LOOKED DOWN ON THAT KIND OF PEOPLE.
WELL, THAT WAS WHERE I STOOD, TOO.
[00:40:09]
THEORETICAL, HYPOTHETICAL ISSUE THAT DIDN'T GET MUCH BANDWIDTH IN MY THINKING BECAUSE THE BIBLE WAS VERY CLEAR ABOUT IT AND IT DIDN'T CONCERN MY FAMILY TILL IT BECAME PERSONAL WHEN MY OWN CHILD CAME OUT.SOME OF YOU MAY FEEL THE SAME WAY RIGHT NOW AS THIS GENTLEMAN AND I FELT.
BUT ACCORDING TO THE 2021 HEALTHY YOUTH SURVEY, THERE'S A VERY GOOD CHANCE THAT SOMEONE IN YOUR EXTENDED FAMILY IS LGBTQ. IF AND WHEN YOU FIND THIS TO BE THE CASE, AND IF YOU FIND YOURSELF NEEDING SUPPORT FROM A PERSON OF FAITH AND CALL TO LOVE WOULD BE HONORED FOR YOU TO REACH OUT TO US, WE WOULD BE GLAD TO TALK WITH YOU.
HAVE YOU JOINED US IN OUR PARENT AND FAMILY SUPPORT GROUP AND WALK ALONGSIDE YOU IN YOUR JOURNEY OF LOVING AND SUPPORTING YOUR LGBTQ FAMILY MEMBER AND WORK WITH YOU TO MAKE OUR COMMUNITY A SAFE AND THRIVING PLACE FOR ALL? THANK YOU. THANK YOU.
MY PRONOUNS ARE SHE, HER AND JULIA WELCOME.
AND THANK YOU FOR COMING BACK, SORA.
I TABLED AT THE HARVEST DAYS EVENT, AND MY GROUP SUPPORTS ADULTS, WHETHER THEY'RE LGBTQ OR ALLIES, FAMILY, FRIENDS, COLLEAGUES.
AND A LOT OF YOUR FAMILIES CAME TO OUR BOOTH, PARENTS AND KIDS, AND THE VERY FIRST IN-PERSON BATTLE GROUND PRIDE EVENT IS HAPPENING ON SATURDAY, SO YOU'RE ALL WELCOME TO COME.
AND I'M PRESUME YOU'RE PROBABLY HAVING A BOOTH AT HARVEST DAYS NEXT WEEK, SO I'LL SEE YOU THERE.
AND I JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT IN JUNE, MAYOR PHILLIPS GAVE WELL, PHILIP.
PHILIP IS A FIRST NAME, NOT LAST.
SORRY. HE GAVE THE FIRST PRIDE PROCLAMATION FOR THE CITY OF BATTLE GROUND.
AND I WAS GOING TO JUST READ AS MUCH AS TIME WILL ALLOW.
IT'S SHORT ISH, WHEREAS ON JUNE 28TH, 1969, THE STONEWALL UPRISING SET IN MOTION THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE GAY RIGHTS MOVEMENT ACROSS THE UNITED STATES. AND.
WHEREAS, THE MONTH OF JUNE IS GENERALLY RECOGNIZED AS LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL, TRANSGENDER AND QUEER LGBTQ PRIDE MONTH, REMEMBERING THE STONEWALL UPRISING AND THE RIGHTS AND BASIC PROTECTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN ATTAINED FOR LGBTQ INDIVIDUALS.
AND. WHEREAS, THE CITY OF BATTLE GROUND HAS A CONTINUALLY GROWING LGBTQ COMMUNITY SUPPORTED, CELEBRATED AND AFFIRMED BY INCLUSIVE ORGANIZATIONS, BUSINESSES AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS. AND.
WHEREAS, WHILE THERE HAVE BEEN SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS FOR EQUALITY, PRIDE MONTH IS A STANCE AGAINST DISCRIMINATION AND VIOLENCE TOWARDS INDIVIDUALS WHO IDENTIFY AS LGBTQ AND AN ACKNOWLEDGMENT THAT THERE IS STILL WORK TO BE DONE TO PROMOTE INCLUSION AND EQUAL RIGHTS.
AND. WHEREAS, BATTLE GROUND CELEBRATES THE DIVERSITY AND THE IMMENSE CONTRIBUTIONS OF OUR LGBTQ COMMUNITY AND RECOGNIZES THAT DIVERSITY IS ONE OF THE CITY'S GREATEST STRENGTHS, AND IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT WE WORK TO MAKE ALL RESIDENTS OF OUR COMMUNITY FEEL VALUED, SAFE, ACCEPTED AND INCLUDED BY INCREASING VISIBILITY, BUILDING COMMUNITY AND RESPECTING ALL SEXUAL ORIENTATIONS, GENDER EXPRESSIONS AND GENDER IDENTITIES.
AND SO THEREFORE JUNE WAS PROCLAIMED PRIDE MONTH FOR THE FIRST TIME IN BATTLE GROUND.
SO I WILL SEE YOU NEXT WEEK IF I DON'T SEE YOU SATURDAY.
AND GOOD LUCK ON YOUR NEXT SCHOOL YEAR.
AND THAT CONCLUDES OUR CITIZENS COMMENTS FOR THE EVENING.
ANYBODY RAISING THEIR HAND? I WILL. OR COMING FORWARD, WE WILL MOVE ON TO OUR CONSENT AGENDA, WHICH INCLUDES ITEMS A THROUGH L.
[9. Consent Agenda (Board Vote w/Student Voice)]
IT HAS THE APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM THE JUNE 26TH REGULAR MEETING AS WELL AS THE JUNE 28TH SPECIAL SESSION.WE HAVE BUSINESS OPERATIONS, PERSONNEL REPORTS, FINANCIAL REPORTS.
WE HAVE OUR SECOND READING AND ADOPTION OF THE PROPOSED HIGH SCHOOL CURRICULUM FOR PSYCHOLOGY.

[00:45:06]
ESD CONTRACTS FOR 23-24.THE FOOD SERVICES MANAGEMENT CONTRACT EXTENSION FOR 23-24 LUNCH AND BREAKFAST PRICES FOR 23-24 AND THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL COOPERATIVE PURCHASING AGREEMENT WITH THE LINDEN SCHOOL DISTRICT.
I MOVE THAT THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA AS PRESENTED.
WE DO HAVE A MOTION ON THE FLOOR TO APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA AS PRESENTED.
I WILL REACH OUT TO MY STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES TO ASK FOR YOUR ADVISORY VOTE.
ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS? COMMENTS? ALL THOSE IN FAVOR, PLEASE SAY AYE.
AYE. AYE. ALL THOSE OPPOSED? MOTION PASSES 4 TO 0.
OKAY. THANK YOU FOR FREE LUNCH FOR K THROUGH 12 OR FOR K THROUGH FOUR.
I'M SORRY. I'M EXCITED ABOUT THAT.
SO ARE WE. JUST THINK KIDS DO BETTER IF THEY'RE NOT HUNGRY.
YEAH, SOME KIDS MORE THAN OTHERS.
WE'VE GOT A FEW OF THOSE KIDS.
[10. Old Business (Board Vote w/Student Voice)]
ALL RIGHT. WE HAVE NO OLD BUSINESS TONIGHT.WE DO HAVE THREE ITEMS OF NEW BUSINESS.
[11. New Business (Board Vote w/Student Voice)]
THE FIRST UP IS THE FIRST READING OF POLICY 5161.I'LL JUST DO IT FROM MY SPOT HERE.
WELL, I DO WANT TO BRING TO YOUR ATTENTION A NEW POLICY, 5161, CIVILITY IN THE WORKPLACE.
IT IS CONSIDERED DISCRETIONARY, MEANING IT IS NOT A MANDATORY POLICY.
OVER THE COURSE OF THE LAST FEW YEARS, IT'S BECOME INCREASINGLY APPARENT THAT WE NEED A POLICY TO HELP GUIDE SOME OF THE CONVERSATIONS AND TO HELP ADDRESS TENUOUS AND DIFFICULT SITUATIONS THAT OUR STAFF ARE CONFRONTED IN.
AND ESSENTIALLY THIS IS TO HELP US MAINTAIN A RESPECTFUL, SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL STAFF.
AND ULTIMATELY IT WILL HELP IMPROVE THE ENVIRONMENT FOR STUDENTS.
AND SO IT IS THE FIRST READING.
YOU'LL SEE THAT IT IS A FAIRLY SHORT POLICY, BUT IT DOES ADDRESS THE EXPECTATIONS OF OF INDIVIDUALS AND ALSO HOW TO HOW TO CONDUCT ONESELF WHEN FACED WITH DIFFICULT CONVERSATIONS OR IN SITUATIONS WHERE THERE ARE DIFFERING VIEWS.
ANY QUESTIONS FROM THE BOARD? I APPRECIATE THAT. IT DEFINES UNCIVIL CONDUCT PRETTY CLEARLY.
DOESN'T REALLY ALLOW MUCH INTERPRETATION THERE.
SO I APPRECIATE THAT WE DON'T HAVE TO RELY ON, YOU KNOW, WHEN YOU SEE IT TO MICHELLE'S POINT, IT JUST PROVIDES SOME GUIDANCE AND SOME STRAIGHTFORWARD EXPECTATIONS.
I THINK IT'S VERY WELL WRITTEN, AND I THINK IT'S TIMELY.
IT'S IMPORTANT THAT WHEN IT SPEAKS, IT'S NOT JUST TO STAFF, IT'S EXPECTATIONS OF STAKEHOLDERS.
AND THERE'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARENTS, VOLUNTEERS, CONTRACTORS, VISITORS.
SO IT'S ALL OF US FULL CIRCLE.
AND I ASSUME THERE'LL BE SOME TRAINING ON THIS AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.
WE HAVE SOME, BUT WE'VE NEVER HAD A POLICY THAT ENCAPSULATES IT ALL.
DID YOU MEAN TRAINING FOR THIS? ABOUT THIS POLICY? TRAINING ABOUT NOT TRAINING.
NOT TRAINING PREVIOUSLY, BUT TRAINING.
NOW THAT WE'VE. IF THIS WERE TO BE PASSED.
ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS? I MOVE THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS ACCEPT THE FIRST READING OF POLICY 5161 CIVILITY IN THE WORKPLACE.
ALL RIGHT. WE HAVE A MOTION ON THE FLOOR TO MOVE THIS POLICY FORWARD.
STUDENTS, DO YOU HAVE AN ADVISORY VOTE FOR THE BOARD?
[00:50:02]
ALL RIGHT.ANY FURTHER COMMENTS? QUESTIONS? ALL THOSE IN FAVOR, PLEASE SAY AYE.
THANK YOU. THIS WILL COME BACK FOR A SECOND READING OUTSIDE OF THE CONSENT AGENDA.
BECAUSE DIRECTOR WATRIN IS NOT HERE TONIGHT IS MY UNDERSTANDING.
NO, IT'S. WELL, I'LL TALK TO MARK.
NEXT ITEM ON THE AGENDA, WE HAVE A FIRST READING OF POLICY, 5254, STAFF EXPRESSION.
SO THIS POLICY, NOT UNLIKE THE PREVIOUS POLICY, IS ONE THAT IS BEING RECOMMENDED TO US BY OUR ATTORNEY AND FRANKLY, SUPPORTS, AGAIN, OUR STAFF.
WE'VE RECEIVED MORE AND MORE QUESTIONS IN THE LAST FEW YEARS THAN WE RECEIVED PREVIOUS TO THAT TIME.
I THINK THE PANDEMIC HAS BROUGHT OUT MANY OF THOSE QUESTIONS BECAUSE OF THE DIVERSE VIEWS.
AND SO QUESTIONS ABOUT WHEN IS IT APPROPRIATE, WHEN IS IT APPROPRIATE TO EXERCISE FREE SPEECH WITHIN THE CONFINES OF OUR WORK AS A PROFESSIONAL EDUCATOR IN THE DISTRICT.
AND SO THIS POLICY GIVES US SOME GUIDANCE AND SHOULD HELP ANSWER MANY OF THOSE QUESTIONS FOR STAFF.
AGAIN, LIKE CIVILITY, I THINK THIS WILL REQUIRE SOME TRAINING AND MAKE IT CLEAR TO STAFF KIND OF THAT WHERE WHERE FREE EXPRESSION EXISTS AND WHERE IT DOESN'T.
BUT REALLY, I THINK IT'S SOMETHING THAT WILL BE HELPFUL TO OUR STAFF AND TO US BECAUSE WE GET THE QUESTIONS AND THEN WE HAVE TO MAKE A PHONE CALL TO THE ATTORNEY.
AND IN EACH INDIVIDUAL SITUATION, THIS WILL PROVIDE SOME GUIDANCE WITHOUT MAKING THAT A NECESSITY.
SO ANY QUESTIONS? PRETTY QUIET BOARD. ANYBODY HAVE ANY QUESTIONS? NO. I JUST HAVE A QUICK COMMENT THAT I THINK THAT THE PROCEDURE AND THE POLICY STRIKES THE RIGHT BALANCE BETWEEN PROTECTED FIRST AMENDMENT SPEECH AND BEING AN AMBASSADOR FOR THE DISTRICT.
SO I THINK THE POLICY AND THE PROCEDURE STRIKE THE RIGHT BALANCE, IN MY OPINION.
THANK YOU. I THINK IT'S WELL WRITTEN.
THERE IS NO FURTHER QUESTIONS.
OH, I NEED TO TALK AGAIN, DON'T I? I MAKE A MOTION THAT THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS ACCEPT THE FIRST READING OF POLICY.
ALL RIGHT. WE HAVE A MOTION ON THE FLOOR TO ALSO ACCEPT THE FIRST READING OF POLICY.
5254. I'VE LOOKED TO OUR STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES FOR AN ADVISORY VOTE.
OKAY. ANY FURTHER COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS FROM THE BOARD? ALL THOSE IN FAVOR, PLEASE SAY AYE.
OUR LAST ITEM OF NEW BUSINESS IS THE IS IT FORTINET NETWORK SECURITY EQUIPMENT? MR.. MCDANIEL.
THE PURCHASE IN FRONT OF YOU IS FOR A FORTINET FORTIGATE 2601 F SET OF TWO OF THOSE.
THIS WILL BE REPLACING OUR CURRENT FIREWALL FOR THE DISTRICT.
THAT'S OUR PRIME EDGE DEVICE THAT PROTECTS US FROM MALICIOUS ACTIVITIES.
IT ALSO PROVIDES ONE OF OUR TWO FILTERS.
THE THIS PURCHASE IS PART OF A BIGGER PROJECT THAT WE'VE HAD ONGOING FOR A FEW YEARS, THE FIRST OF WHICH IS REPLACEMENT OF OUR WIRED NETWORKING INFRASTRUCTURE, WHICH IS UNDERWAY AND SHOULD BE COMPLETE BY THE END OF THIS WEEK ACTUALLY.
THAT WAS FOR THE JUNIPER SWITCHES APPROVED BY THE BOARD FEBRUARY 28TH OF LAST YEAR.
IN ADDITION, IT'S PART OF THE NEXT PHASE OF THIS HAS BEEN REPLACING THE DISTRICT BANDWIDTH CONNECTIONS WHICH CURRENTLY ARE SERVED THROUGH TWO DIFFERENT PROVIDERS.
[00:55:01]
ONE IS SILVERSTAR FOR AMBOY YACOLT, THE OTHER IS LUMEN, FORMERLY KNOWN AS CENTURYLINK FOR THE REST OF THE SCHOOLS.WE ARE SWITCHING TO A DARK FIBER SOLUTION.
THE BOARD APPROVED THAT BACK IN JANUARY OF 22.
THAT'S WHAT FIBER OPTIC CABLE IS.
AND BY CONTROLLING THAT, WE DETERMINE THE SPEED WE WOULD LIKE TO USE.
OKAY. IF WE ARE PAYING A SERVICE PROVIDER, A COMCAST, CENTURYLINK LUMEN, WE PAY FOR THE SPEED.
AND IF WE WISH TO INCREASE IT, THE PRICING IS FAIRLY EXTENSIVE.
THE DARK FIBER SOLUTION WILL SAVE THE DISTRICT HALF $1 MILLION.
THE MOST LOAD IS GOING TO HIT OUR FIREWALL.
SO THE NEW FIREWALL THAT WE'RE LOOKING TO PURCHASE IS CAPABLE OF HANDLING A MASSIVE INCREASE IN BANDWIDTH WHICH WILL BENEFIT STAFF AND STUDENTS MORE RELIABILITY, GREATER SPEED, MORE EFFICIENCY.
THIS IS PART OF AN E-RATE PURCHASE.
IT ISN'T THE FULL DISCOUNT THAT WE HAVE BECAUSE E-RATE FUNDS DO NOT COVER CYBERSECURITY APPLIANCES.
SO THERE IS A PORTION OF THE FIREWALL THEY CONSIDER AN ELIGIBLE SERVICE.
ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS? HOW MUCH OF A REFUND ARE WE LOOKING AT? I KNEW YOU WERE GOING TO ASK THAT.
I TAKE IT. NORMALLY WE HAVE A 60% DISCOUNT RATE.
THAT'S AN INCREASE FROM THE 50%, AND THAT'S DETERMINED BY OUR FREE AND REDUCED LUNCH RATE.
SO NORMALLY IT'S 60% FOR THE FIREWALL.
I THINK WE'RE GETTING ROUGHLY A QUARTER OF THE TOTAL DOLLAR FIGURE BACK.
I WOULD HAVE TO CHECK TO BE SURE, BUT IT'S STILL SIGNIFICANT.
IT IS A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF MONEY.
I CAN GET THE INFORMATION FOR THE BOARD, IF THAT'S A DESIRE.
NO, JUST JUST IT WAS MORE CURIOSITY THAN ANYTHING ELSE.
I JUST HAVE A RANDOM QUESTION.
IT'S PROBABLY MORE FOR MICHELLE ON THE INVOICE THAT THEY PROVIDED YOU.
WELL, I MEAN, IT'S 7.8% VERSUS THEY'RE CHARGING 8.6, SO I JUST WOULD WANT SOMEBODY TO CATCH THAT.
IT SHOULD BE THE BATTLE GROUND.
IS IT THAT NOT THE 1/49 STREET ADDRESS? NO, THAT ACTUALLY IS A BRUSH PRAIRIE ADDRESS.
SO ARE YOU SAYING ON THE INVOICE IS SHOWING THE SEVEN? IT'S NO, IT'S SHOWING 8.6.
BUT THAT ADDRESS AND BRUSH PRAIRIE.
THE ADDRESS IS WRONG. THE TAX RATE IS RIGHT.
OKAY. YEAH. YEAH, I CAN GET THAT FIXED.
THANK YOU. ARE THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? SORRY. NICE CATCH.
IT'S LIKE, TWO QUESTIONS. I WASN'T READY FOR THIS.
I HAD NOTES ON ENCRYPTION STANDARDS.
THIS IS. I JUST GOT NOBODY ASKING THOSE QUESTIONS.
NOBODY'S ASKING. NOBODY WANTS THE ANSWERS TO THE QUESTIONS.
THANKS FOR REMAINING CIVIL. APPRECIATE IT.
ABSOLUTELY. IT'S BEEN A PLEASURE ANSWERING YOUR QUESTIONS.
ARE THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS I CAN ANSWER? DOESN'T SOUND LIKE IT.
OKAY. THANK YOU. I MOVE THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF THE FORTNITE.
HOW DO YOU SAY THAT? FORTNITE, FORTINET NETWORK SECURITY EQUIPMENT.
I SAID FORTNITE. YEAH, THAT'S FORTNITE.
IT'S TO KEEP THEM FROM PLAYING FORTNITE OR BUYING THING.
IT WILL DETECT AND IDENTIFY FORTNITE TRAFFIC SPECIFICALLY.
YEAH, MAKE IT REALLY IRRITATING.
IT'S KILLING THE BANDWIDTH. THAT'S WHAT'S KILLING THE BANDWIDTH.
SORRY. WE HAVE A MOTION ON THE FLOOR TO APPROVE THIS PURCHASE OF THE SECURITY EQUIPMENT.
STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES, DO YOU HAVE AN ADVISORY VOTE FOR THE BOARD? THANK YOU. ALL RIGHT.
ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS FROM THE BOARD? ALL THOSE IN FAVOR, PLEASE SAY AYE.
ALL THOSE OPPOSED? MOTION PASSES.
NEXT ON THE AGENDA, WE HAVE OUR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS AND BOARD EVENTS.
[12. Future Agenda Items and Board Events]
IS THERE ANYTHING ANYBODY WANTS TO SHARE THAT'S UPCOMING?[01:00:02]
I THINK THE ONLY THING WE'VE GOT UPCOMING IS THE NEW EDUCATOR LUNCHEON, AUGUST 15TH.IT'S KIND OF SMALL. OUR NEXT MEETING, I THINK OUR NEXT MEETING IS AUGUST 14TH, 14, 14.
YEAH. AND CERTAINLY THE BOARD WOULD BE WELCOME.
WE HAVE NATIONAL NIGHT OUT NEXT TUESDAY AT SIX, 6 TO 8.
SO CERTAINLY THAT'S A GREAT TIME TO CONNECT WITH OUR COMMUNITY..
ANY OTHER ITEMS. ALL RIGHT. I THINK THAT WRAPS US UP THEN.
AND WE WILL ADJOURN THIS JULY 24TH MEETING AT 7:01.
NOT MY FASTEST, BUT IT WAS CLOSE.
