HERE. MR. PRESIDENT, WE HAVE A QUORUM.

GREAT. THANK YOU. BY THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH THIS TIME.

SO EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE A COUPLE OF MEMBERS GONE, THREE IS ENOUGH TO CONTINUE CONDUCTING BUSINESS.

AND THAT'S GREAT, BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE TO PILE IT ON TO THE NEXT MEETING OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

TED CALLED IN, SAID WORK GOT IN THE WAY, AS SOMETIMES IT DOES.

AND I TALKED TO ROB ON THE PHONE AND HE IS SOUNDING CLEARLY UNDER THE WEATHER.

I ENTERTAIN A MOTION TO EXCUSE THOSE ABSENCES.

WE DON'T EXPECT THAT TO TAKE TOO LONG TOWARDS THE END OF THE MEETING.

IT'S BEEN MOVED TO APPROVE THE AGENDA AS PRESENTED.

ALL THOSE IN FAVOR SIGNIFY BY SAYING AYE.

AYE. ALL THOSE OPPOSED.

MOTION PASSES. OK.

[5. Communications]

FIRST UP IN OUR BOARD COMMUNICATIONS IS OUR STUDENT VOICE.

THANK YOU AGAIN FOR COMING HERE.

IS PRAIRIE GOING TO GO FIRST? COME ON UP.

AND I'LL HAVE YOU REINTRODUCE YOURSELF.

BUT I THINK THIS IS TINA AND BRIANNE, RIGHT? YEAH. RIGHT UP TO THE MICROPHONE THERE.

WELCOME. HELLO.

MY NAME IS TINA DANH, AND I AM A SENIOR REPRESENTATIVE OF PRAIRIE HIGH SCHOOL.

HI, I'M BRIANNE BLAKE AND I AM THE ACTIVITIES MANAGER FOR PRAIRIE HIGH SCHOOL'S ASB.

AND WE'VE COME OUT HERE TODAY TO DISCUSS ABOUT DIFFERENT EVENTS THAT WE WERE PLANNING TO UPHOLD, WHICH IS, STARTING OFF WE'RE THINKING ABOUT DOING A TOY/ESSENTIAL DRIVE WHERE WE WOULD COME AND ASK THE COMMUNITY TO DONATE TOYS, BOARD GAMES, FEMININE PRODUCTS, CANNED FOOD, BOTTLED WATER, WINTER APPAREL SUCH AS COATS, GLOVES, SOCKS, ETC.

AND THIS IS JUST A WAY FOR US TO GIVE BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY.

AND DONATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED THROUGH OUR LUNCHES AND WE WILL GIVE PRIZES TO THOSE INDIVIDUALS.

AND THE TOP THREE DONATORS WILL INDIVIDUALLY RECEIVE A FUN HOLIDAY GIFT AND WE WILL BE ACCEPTING DONATIONS FROM THE

[00:05:10]

14TH TO THE 30TH.

AND WHAT WE'RE PLANNING TO DO IS THAT, THE DRIVE, WE PLAN TO TAKE THE DONATIONS THAT WE GET FROM THE COMMUNITY AND GIVE THEM TO, GIVE THEM AT, THE WINTER CARNIVAL THAT WE'RE HOLDING.

AND ANOTHER ONE OF OUR EVENTS THAT WE ARE PLANNING ON DOING IS THE WINTER CARNIVAL THAT WAS CREATED BY [INAUDIBLE], OUR ASB PRESIDENT. AND IT'S GOING TO BE DECEMBER 3RD AND IT'S GOING TO BE 11 TO 2 AND IS INVOLVING ALL OUR SPORTS TEAMS AND OTHER CLUBS LIKE WE'RE GOING TO HAVE LIKE A TON OF FOOD BOOTHS AND LIKE GIFT GIVING BOOTHS FOR THE CHILDREN WHO CANNOT AFFORD TO GET GIFTS FOR THEIR PARENTS.

AND WE'RE REACHING OUT TO ALL THE COMMUNITY SINCE IT IS FREE FOR THE WHOLE COMMUNITY TO COME.

AND WE'RE TRYING TO TAKE STRESS OFF FAMILIES DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON, ESPECIALLY SINCE MANY FAMILIES WERE AFFECTED FROM COVID AND STILL ARE.

AND WE'RE REACHING OUT TO LOCAL COMMUNITY BUSINESSES TO HOPEFULLY GET DONATIONS MADE FOR MORE LIKE A MORE EXCITING EVENT AND MORE INFO WILL BE SHARED ON OUR ACCOUNT LATER ON WHEN WE KNOW MORE.

GREAT. AND I HAVE ONE TECHNICAL DETAIL QUESTION, RIGHT.

SO ON LIKE YOUR GAMES, DO YOU EXPECT THOSE TO BE LIKE NEW AND PURCHASED OR IF THEY'RE IN GOOD SHAPE AND COULD BE REUSED, DO YOU ACCEPT THOSE? I ACTUALLY DON'T KNOW.

I THINK THEY HAVE TO BE LIKE, SEALED THINGS.

SEALED. SOMETHING THAT'S NOT OPEN YET.

ALL RIGHT. YEAH, I'LL DIG THROUGH THE COVERAGE AND SEE.

OKAY, GREAT.

AND I ALREADY WARNED THESE TWO IN ADVANCE.

WE'RE PUTTING SPECIAL EMPHASIS ON HOW PARENTS GET INVOLVED IN OUR STUDENTS SCHOOL LIVES.

AND YOU SAID YOU'D BE WILLING TO HELP OUT.

SO CAN YOU GIVE US SOME EXAMPLES? HOW HAVE YOUR PARENTS HELPED YOU THROUGH SCHOOL? MY PARENTS HAVE HELPED ME BY LIKE HELPING ME REACH OUT TO COUNSELORS AND TEACHERS, SO I ALWAYS HAVE A HARD TIME WITH THAT.

AND ALSO JUST LIKE BEING LIKE, DO WHATEVER YOU WANT.

DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY AS LONG AS YOU HAVE PASSING GRADES.

SO LIKE I DID ROTC FOR A YEAR AND I WAS LIKE, NOT FOR ME.

AND THEN I DID ASB THIS YEAR, WHICH IS LIKE FOR ME, I LOVE IT.

YEAH, IT'S KIND OF GREAT.

THANK YOU. AND FOR ME, MY PARENTS ARE, US, MOST LIKE, I'M ASIAN AND OUR STEREOTYPE IS MORE OF THEY WANT US TO BE LIKE DOCTORS OR DIFFERENT PROFESSIONS.

BUT FOR ME, MY PARENTS, THEY'VE NEVER REALLY CARED FOR ME BEING A DOCTOR OR LIKE A LAWYER OR STUFF LIKE THAT.

THEY WANT ME TO DO WHAT I SET MY HEART OUT TO DO.

AND AS LONG AS I'M HAPPY, THAT'S WHAT MATTERS TO THEM.

IT SOUNDS LIKE A COMMON THEME.

THANK YOU. DO YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE AWESOME SHIRTS THAT YOU GUYS ARE WEARING? OH, YEAH, PLEASE DO.

SO OUR FRIEND IN ASB, ISABELLE MORRELL, DECIDED ON THIS.

THE TREASURER, SORRY, DECIDED TO MAKE THESE SHIRTS TO UNITE OUR ASB.

GREAT. VERY COOL.

VERY COOL. THEY HAVE OUR ROLES AND WHAT WE DO IN ASB, AND SOME OF THE STUDENTS OPTED FOR THEIR LAST NAME TO BE PUT ON THERE. AND IT'S HONESTLY A REALLY GOOD DESIGN.

YEAH. I DECIDED TO PUT MY LAST NAME EVEN THOUGH I'M A SENIOR, BECAUSE I WANTED TO GIVE MY SHIRT TO MY BROTHER WHEN HE BECOMES A FRESHMAN NEXT YEAR.

NICE. VERY COOL.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. AND THANKS FOR BEING HERE.

THANK YOU. OK AND OUR REPRESENTATIVE FROM BATTLE GROUND HIGH SCHOOL, SARAH.

ALSO LOOKS LIKE WE HAD TWO OTHERS.

I SEE THAT. YEAH.

BEFORE I BEGIN, I WOULD LIKE TO SAY A PRAYER.

YOU GUYS DID AWESOME, AND WE'RE VERY BRAVE FOR GOING FIRST.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

HI. MY NAME IS SARAH SHOOTE.

I'M THE BUSINESS MANAGER AT BATTLE GROUND HIGH SCHOOL AND A JUNIOR.

AND BEFORE I GET INTO THE ASB STUFF, I WANTED TO ALERT YOU GUYS TO THE WINTER PLAY THAT OUR DRAMA CLUB IS PUTTING ON.

WE ALREADY WENT THROUGH OUR FIRST ROTATION OF SHOWINGS, SO THIS THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY, THEY ARE DOING THE CHRISTMAS CAROL AND IT'S $7 FOR YOUR TICKET, CASH ONLY AT THE DOOR AND THE DOORS OPEN AT 6:30.

YOU SHOULD GO IN, GET A GREAT SEAT, AND THE SHOW STARTS AT 7.

I HAVEN'T HAD A CHANCE TO SEE IT YET, BUT I'VE HEARD AMAZING THINGS.

SO I THINK YOU GUYS SHOULD DEFINITELY GO SEE THAT IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY.

AND THEN ALSO, TODAY WAS OUR FIRST DAY FOR WINTER SPORTS TRYOUTS, AND IT WAS ALSO THE FIRST DAY FOR UNIFIED BASKETBALL PRACTICES.

AND AS A MEMBER OF THE UNIFIED SPORTS COMMUNITY, I CAN SAY WE HAD A LOT MORE PARTNERS COME IN, WHICH WAS GREAT BECAUSE I LOVE SEEING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PARTNERS AND

[00:10:08]

ATHLETES. IN TERMS OF ASB STUFF, I WANTED TO LET YOU GUYS KNOW THAT OUR HOMECOMING DANCE THAT WE HAD MADE $5,450.

WHEN WE SUBTRACT HOW MUCH WE SPENT FROM HOW MUCH WE MADE FROM TICKETS, WE SOLD 752 TICKETS, WHICH WAS THE BIGGEST TICKET SELLING DANCE WE'VE EVER HAD.

NEXT UP, WE ARE WORKING ON OUR WINTER FORMAL DANCE, WHICH IS GOING TO BE DECEMBER 7TH FROM 6 TO 9 P.M., AND WE ARE CAPPING TICKET SALES AT 400 BECAUSE IN THE PAST OUR WINTER FORMAL HASN'T DONE AS WELL.

BUT WE ARE REALLY HOPING WITH THAT NEW GROUP OF STUDENTS WE'RE GOING TO BE ABLE TO OPEN IT UP FOR MORE KIDS NEXT YEAR.

SOMETHING ELSE WE ARE WORKING ON IS SORA AND I ARE THE BEST TWO BIG DIRECTORS FOR OUR CHARITY PAGEANT THIS YEAR AND WE ARE SO EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE HAVE FOUND TWO OF OUR THREE JUDGES, WHICH IS OUR SUPERINTENDENT.

THANK YOU. AND OUR DEPUTY MAYOR, WHOSE NAME I DON'T WANT TO MISPRONOUNCE.

I'M NOT GOING TO SAY IT, BUT WE ARE SO EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT THEY'RE GOING TO BE JUDGING OUR SHOW.

WE HAVE OUR COMMITTEE WHO ACTUALLY PUTS ON THE SHOW ALMOST COMPLETELY PUT TOGETHER.

AND I THINK TODAY THE APPLICATIONS WENT OUT TO THE SENIORS TO APPLY.

AND WE ARE JUST SO EXCITED TO MAKE IT THE BEST SHOW THAT WE'VE EVER HAD.

IT'S GOING TO BE MARCH 25TH AND WE WILL GET MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THAT OUT SOON.

BUT I'M SO EXCITED TO BE WORKING WITH SORA BECAUSE SHE'S SO LOVELY AND WE'RE GOING TO CREATE THE BEST SHOW EVER.

SOMETHING THAT WE'RE ASKING YOUR GUYS' HELP FOR IS LOOKING FOR OUR BENEFICIARY.

IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT IS, THAT'S THE PERSON OR ORGANIZATION OR GROUP OF PEOPLE THAT WE DONATE THE MONEY TO AFTER THE SHOW.

LAST YEAR WE RAISED JUST OVER $4,000 FOR A FORMER BGHS STUDENT WHO WAS SUFFERING FROM MASSIVE STROKES.

BUT WE'RE NOT JUST LOOKING FOR SOMEBODY WHO HAS LIKE A REALLY BIG SOB STORY.

MAYBE THEY LOST THE MAIN FINANCIAL SUPPORTER IN THEIR FAMILY OR THEIR HOUSE CAUGHT ON FIRE OR SOMETHING, JUST ANYBODY IN THE COMMUNITY.

SO IF YOU GUYS KNOW OF ANYONE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE REACH OUT TO SORA AND LET HER KNOW, BECAUSE WE WOULD LOVE TO FIND SOMEBODY SOON TO GIVE ALL THAT MONEY TO.

IS THERE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT WHAT I SAID? SHE'S GOT A LOT GOING ON.

YEAH. YEAH. WELL DONE.

ORGANIZED. YEAH. ALL RIGHT.

THANK YOU. YOU GET THE QUESTION READY.

SO HOW DID, HOW HAVE YOUR PARENTS BEEN HELPING YOU THROUGH SCHOOL? MY MOM IS ALWAYS MY BIGGEST CHEERLEADER.

LIKE, NO MATTER WHAT IT IS THAT I'M DOING, SHE'S JUST ALWAYS ASKING HOW TO SUPPORT ME.

FOR EXAMPLE, I BELIEVE IT WAS LAST WEEKEND, WE HAD A REALLY BIG, UNIFIED BULLYING EVENT.

STILL A LITTLE CONFUSED ON IF IT WAS DISTRICT OR REGIONALS, BUT EITHER WAY, IT WAS SO MUCH FUN.

AND SHE IMMEDIATELY WAS LIKE, CAN I DRIVE YOU? CAN I COME WATCH YOU? DOES ANYBODY ELSE ON THE TEAM, LIKE, NEED A RIDE? LIKE AND SHE STAYED THE WHOLE TIME AND CHEERED US ALL ON.

AND WHEN WE HAVE ASB ELECTIONS SHE'S ALWAYS LIKE ASKING IF SHE CAN HELP ME MAKE POSTERS AND PROOFREAD MY SPEECHES.

WHENEVER I HAVE AN ESSAY, SHE'S LIKE, CAN I PROOFREAD IT FOR YOU? LIKE, JUST ALWAYS ASKING IN ANY WAY, LIKE HOW SHE CAN HELP ME AND SUPPORT ME AND THE SAME WAY WITH MY DAD.

LIKE, I JUST HAVE THE MOST SUPPORTIVE PARENTS.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. NICE SEEING YOU.

OKAY. WE'RE IN THE STUDENT VOICE PART OF OUR AGENDA.

DO WE HAVE OTHER STUDENT VOICES? YAY. COME ON UP AND INTRODUCE YOURSELVES.

SOUNDS LIKE YOU GUYS HAD TO THINK ABOUT THAT FOR A SECOND.

[LAUGHTER] HELLO, MY NAME IS [INAUDIBLE] AND WE'RE FROM SUMMIT VIEW.

AND MY NAME IS [INAUDIBLE].

NICE TO SEE YOU. RECENTLY AT SCHOOL, WE'VE JUST BEEN DOING, LIKE, LITTLE FUN EVENTS HERE AND THERE.

WE HAVEN'T REALLY HAD ANYTHING, ANY LIKE MAJOR EVENTS YET.

OUR BLOOD DRIVE'S COMING UP IN DECEMBER.

LAST MONTH WE HAD OUR ASB ELECTIONS AND WE HAD A HALLOWEEN PARTY WHERE WE JUST DID PUMPKIN CARVING JUST TO GET THE REST OF THE SCHOOL IN ON SOMETHING FUN. WE HAVE TWO GRADUATES SO FAR.

YAHOO. OH, VERY COOL.

OTHER THAN THAT, WE'RE JUST DOING THE BASICS PRETTY MUCH [LAUGHTER].

NOTHING TOO EXCITING.

WELL, NICE OF YOU GUYS TO BE HERE.

YEAH. FELLAS, APPRECIATE IT.

YEAH, YOU HAVE TO ASK CASEY.

THEY HAVE AN ANNUAL PUMPKIN OLYMPICS.

WHEN THEY GET GOING, I'M SURE THEY'D BE WILLING TO HAVE MORE PARTICIPANTS WHEN THEY GET GOING.

YOU GUYS ARE RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO EACH OTHER.

YOU HAVE TO TEAM UP ON THAT.

YEAH. YEAH, THAT'S A GOOD IDEA.

I HAVE ONE QUESTION. YEAH, GO AHEAD.

WHEN SOMEONE GRADUATES, BECAUSE IN YOUR CASE, THEY MIGHT GRADUATE AT ANY TIME, DO YOU HAVE SOME CELEBRATION THAT DAY OR DO THEY? YEAH. SO, SO MANY GRADUATES THAT DAY, MS. ANDREWS, WHICH IS LIKE THE COUNSELOR AT THE SCHOOL, SHE'LL GO ROUND UP ALL THE TEACHERS AND THEY HAVE LITTLE, LIKE, JUST FUN LITTLE INSTRUMENTS THAT THEY PLAY AND THEY'LL TAKE

[00:15:01]

THE GRADUATE UP FRONT AND START BANGING ALL THESE INSTRUMENTS AND EVERYTHING AND JUST CHEERING THEM ON.

IT'S VERY COOL IF YOU'VE EVER SEEN IT BEFORE.

IT'S VERY. YEAH, NOT JUST LIGHT OUT THE DOOR, RIGHT? [LAUGHTER] YEAH. GOOD.

I LIKE. LIKE IT.

GREAT. YEAH. TIME FOR CELEBRATION.

YEAH. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR.

NO. THANK YOU FOR KEEPING US IN TOUCH WITH DO YOU KNOW WHAT DAY THE BLOOD DRIVE IS SPECIFICALLY? I HAVE IT. I DONATED BLOOD ONCE AND THEN THE OTHER TIME IT JUST DIDN'T WORK.

IT'S ON THURSDAY, DECEMBER 8TH, FROM 10 A.M.

TO 4. GREAT.

OKAY. THANK YOU, GUYS.

THANKS AGAIN, YOU GUYS.

AND OUR TWO STUDENT BOARD MEMBERS HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY IF YOU WANT TO STEP IN.

WELL, I DON'T HAVE TOO MUCH TO ADD ON TO WHAT SARAH SAID BECAUSE SHE DID A GREAT JOB.

SHE EXPLAINED VERY WELL.

BUT JUST TO ELABORATE ON THE WINTER FORMAL SITUATION THAT WE HAVE GOING ON.

LIKE SARAH SAID, OUR WINTER FORMAL IS USUALLY PRETTY SMALL.

IT'S MORE OF LIKE A FRESHMAN DANCE.

BUT AFTER OUR SUCCESS AT HOMECOMING, WE SENT OUT A GOOGLE FORM TO THE STUDENT BODY JUST TO GAUGE INTEREST TO SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE PLANNING ON COMING, BECAUSE WE WERE EXPECTING LIKE MAYBE 200, 300 MAX.

YOU KNOW, LIKE I SAID, IT'S A FRESHMAN DANCE, BUT WE GOT 320 RESPONSES ON THAT GOOGLE FORM ITSELF.

AND AS YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW, HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS DON'T REALLY CHECK THEIR EMAILS VERY MUCH.

SO THAT WAS A REALLY BIG SURPRISE AND THAT WAS A REALLY BIG SUCCESS.

SO WE'RE FORESEEING A VERY BIG TURNOUT THERE.

AND WE ARE ALSO HAVING A BLOOD DRIVE AT BATTLE GROUND HIGH SCHOOL ON FRIDAY, THIS FRIDAY THE 17TH, I THINK, AND THAT'S CONDUCTED BY OUR HOSA PROGRAM, OUR MEDICAL FUTURES PROGRAM.

AND YEAH, THAT'S ABOUT IT.

BUT THANK YOU, SARAH. YOU DID AMAZING.

AND THEN WE JUST HAD OUR PRODUCTION OF ONCE UPON A MATTRESS.

THAT WAS REALLY FUN. AND THANK YOU GUYS FOR BEING SUPER LENIENT WITH THAT.

I KNOW I'VE BEEN JUST SUPER NOT HERE LATELY, BUT IT WAS VERY MUCH WORTH IT TO ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO PERFORM THIS YEAR AND HAVE AN ACTUAL MUSICAL.

OUR NEXT SHOW IS GOING TO BE XANADU.

OH, NICE.

YEAH. SOMEONE'S GOING TO HAVE TO SUFFER THROUGH ROLLER SKATING THE ENTIRE SHOW.

SO, ON THE STAGE TOO.

I AM ALL OVER THAT ONE.

THAT'S A GOOD ONE. IT'S.

IT'S AMAZING. AND THEN WE JUST HAD A BAND CONCERT ON THE 2ND OF NOVEMBER THAT WENT REALLY WELL.

UNFORTUNATELY, WE WERE UNABLE TO LIVESTREAM IT THIS TIME BECAUSE OUR VIDEO PERSON GOT DOUBLE BOOKED THAT DAY.

I WAS LIKE, OKAY, BUT OUR NEXT CONCERT, I BELIEVE, WILL BE LIVE STREAMED AND IT WILL BE ON DECEMBER 13TH.

WE ARE DOING OUR YULETIDE BAZAAR ON THE 26TH OF NOVEMBER, SO THAT'S REALLY FUN.

I WOULD DEFINITELY ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO GO BECAUSE IT'S A VERY COMMUNITY BASED THING AND YOU GET TO SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESSES AND JUST HAVE FUN AND FINDING GIFTS FOR PEOPLE.

I WROTE DOWN A LOT. I'M SORRY, GUYS.

WE ALSO DID OUR TRUNK OR TREAT.

BAND WON FIRST PLACE THANKS TO ME, BUT OUR ENSEMBLE RAISED, I BELIEVE, LIKE OVER HALF OF THE SOCKS DONATED. MORE THAN HALF OF THE SOCKS DONATED, OUT OF 620.

SO THAT WAS GREAT.

AND THEN DRAMA GOT SECOND PLACE.

SO, YOU KNOW.

AND THEN WE HAVE OUR XMAS GIG AT THE BAPTIST CHURCH ON SECOND RIGHT BY PRAIRIE, JUST FOR LIKE A COMMUNITY THING.

WE ALSO HAVE SKYVIEW JAZZ FESTIVAL COMING UP ON DECEMBER 3RD.

SO THE DAY AFTER I BELIEVE OUR JAZZ BAND OR OUR JAZZ ONE WILL BE PERFORMING AT 5 P.M.

BUT THAT IS JUST A ROUGH ESTIMATE AND THAT SHOULD BE IT.

GREAT. I JUST WANT TO SAY I HAD THE PLEASURE OF GOING TO OPENING NIGHT FOR ONCE UPON A MATTRESS.

AND RICARDO WAS WONDERFUL.

AND HE PLAYED THE LEAD.

PRINCE DAUNTLESS.

PRINCE DAUNTLESS. YES, HE WAS ABSOLUTELY GREAT.

SO CONGRATULATIONS FOR THAT.

THANK YOU. YEAH. AND THEN, SORA, JUST SO YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW, BACK IN THE DAY, MY DAUGHTER WAS ALSO THE DIRECTOR.

BUT IT WASN'T. IT WAS.

IT WAS DIFFERENT THEN. IT WAS MR. BG. SO.

YEAH. BUT YEAH, SO THAT'S A BIG DEAL, SARAH, YOU AND.

WE ARE VERY EXCITED.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST BEING INVOLVED.

YEAH, I'M EXCITED. THANK YOU FOR THE INVITE.

[00:20:03]

WE WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED.

WE'LL BOTHER YOU ABOUT IT. YEAH, I'M IN.

AND I LIKEWISE WAS ABLE TO MAKE THE SATURDAY AND MATINEE FOR ONCE UPON A MATTRESS.

TOOK MY GRANDDAUGHTERS WHO LOVED THE MESSAGE ABOUT THE STEREOTYPES OF BEING A PRINCESS OR A PRINCE OR A KING OR WHATEVER, AND THEY GOT THE MESSAGE. SO YOU GUYS DID A GREAT JOB.

THANK YOU. YEAH. YEAH.

AND WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU.

HOW HAVE YOUR PARENTS SUPPORTED YOU THROUGH SCHOOL? I THINK THAT HAVING JUST LIKE A WARM AND WELCOMING FAMILY, YOU KNOW, HOME SITUATION IS SO BENEFICIAL TO HAVING A SUCCESSFUL SCHOOL LIFE AND HAVING THAT HAS BEEN JUST SUCH A BENEFIT TO EVERYTHING I'VE DONE.

AND I APPRECIATE MY PARENTS SO MUCH FOR, YOU KNOW, LIKE GOING TO MY ZERO PERIOD AT SIX IN THE MORNING IS SO MUCH EASIER WHEN I WAKE UP AND MY PARENTS ARE THERE AND THEY'VE ALREADY STARTED ON BREAKFAST. IT'S JUST, IT ELEVATES MY MOOD SO MUCH.

AND I'M VERY, VERY APPRECIATIVE FOR THAT BECAUSE OTHERWISE IT'S ROUGH.

YEAH.

I WOULD SAY LIKEWISE.

YOU KNOW, I'M NOT REALLY HOME VERY OFTEN BECAUSE I'M EITHER WORKING ON DRAMA OR BAND OR SCHOOL BOARD, BUT WHENEVER I DO SEE MY PARENTS, THEY ALWAYS LIKE WELCOME ME BACK WITH OPEN ARMS. AND IT'S HONESTLY VERY COMFORTING TO BE ABLE TO GO HOME, SEE THEM, SPEND LIKE AN HOUR WITH THEM SINCE THEY GO TO WORK AT LIKE THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AND THEY'RE JUST ALWAYS THERE TO SUPPORT ME NO MATTER WHAT.

SO IT'S REALLY AMAZING.

VERY COOL. AND WHILE I'M THINKING OF IT, IF EITHER OF YOUR PARENTS HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT HEADING OFF TO THE CONVENTION IN SPOKANE, MAKE SURE THEY GIVE US A CALL AND WE'LL LET THEM KNOW WE'RE KEEPING AN EYE ON YOU FOR THEM AND TRYING TO KEEP YOU SAFE.

SO. OKAY, GREAT.

IS THAT IT FOR STUDENT VOICE? THANK YOU TO ALL THAT PARTICIPATED AND WE REALLY APPRECIATE THAT.

NEXT UP COMES OUR COMMITTEE REPORTS.

LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE WOULD BE DIRECTOR HENDRIKSON.

I THINK MOST OF THE WORK WAS DONE.

NEXT UP WOULD BE THE WEEK ON THE HILL AND TALKING TO LEGISLATORS ONCE THE SESSION STARTS.

SO WE MAY GET A FEW UPDATES DURING THE CONVENTION.

AUDIT COMMITTEE. WELL, WE MET LAST WEEK AND WE HAD WE GOT TO EXPERIENCE ZOOM CHALLENGES FOR, I THINK, THE FIRST TIME. SO IT WAS INTERESTING TO HAVE TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES AND IT JUST MADE ME KIND OF FEEL FOR THE STUDENTS A LITTLE BIT HAVING TO GO THROUGH THAT.

BUT WE DID END UP HAVING ENOUGH CONTACT BETWEEN THE TWO OF US AND THE FINANCE TEAM TO REVIEW THE SUPERINTENDENT'S TIME SHEET AND THE BOARD'S BUDGET AND THE SUPERINTENDENT'S BUDGET, AS WELL AS SOME PAYROLL AND SOME VOUCHERS AND EVERYTHING WAS ALL IN PLACE, AS IT ALWAYS IS. THEY DO A GREAT JOB.

SO. AND WE MEET IN A MONTH.

SO. GREAT.

THANK YOU. BATTLE GROUND EDUCATION FOUNDATION.

WE HAVE A MEETING COMING UP THIS THURSDAY EVENING, AND SO I WILL HAVE A REPORT AT THE NEXT MEETING.

OKAY. WHAT'S TYPICALLY THEIR NEXT EVENT? DO YOU KNOW? NO.

THEY ARE BRAINSTORMING NEW EVENTS.

SO. YEAH.

ALL RIGHT, GOOD. STUDENTS, ARE THEY GOING TO SET UP FOR FOOD DRIVE PRETTY SOON? DO YOU KNOW? HAVE YOU SEEN BOXES OR ANYTHING? NHS WITH UTC FOR THAT, BUT THAT'S STILL IN THE WORKS.

BUT I THINK YES, THAT WILL BE HAPPENING THERE.

AS I BELIEVE OUR SBA MEMBERS SAID, WE ARE GOING TO HAVE SOME SORT OF DRIVE THAT WE'RE DOING FOR PRAIRIE AND THEN I BELIEVE OUR KEY CLUB IS ALSO PROBABLY GOING TO DO SOME SORT OF FOOD DRIVE OR LIKE SOCK DRIVE.

I KNOW TRUNK OR TREAT WAS THE SOCK DRIVE FOR THIS YEAR AND IT WENT REALLY WELL.

SO YEAH, I THINK WE CAN EXPECT SEVERAL OF OUR SCHOOLS TO HAVE FOOD DRIVES.

TYPICALLY THAT'S THE WAY IT WORKS, ALL THE WAY FROM OUR PRIMARY SCHOOLS TO OUR ALTERNATIVE SCHOOLS, OUR MIDDLE SCHOOLS.

IT'S USUALLY A BIG CONTRIBUTION.

IT'S A BIG CONTRIBUTION AND WE APPRECIATE THE COMMUNITY GIVING IN TO THE SCHOOLS.

AND LIKEWISE, IT'S NICE TO BE ABLE TO GIVE BACK THE OTHER WAY.

SO YEAH, YEAH.

WASHINGTON INTERSCHOLASTIC ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATION WOULD BE DIRECTOR CHAMPAGNE.

WELL, SURE, WE CAN CATCH UP ON THAT.

WASHINGTON STATE SCHOOL DIRECTORS UPDATES.

I ATTENDED THE WSSDA NETWORKING HOUR LAST THURSDAY, AND I WAS PLEASED TO BE ABLE TO SPEND THE ENTIRE HOUR GIVING OUR

[00:25:10]

FEEDBACK AND HOPEFULLY REFLECTING THE DISTRICT'S FEEDBACK ABOUT HOW THE COVID, HOW COVID WAS HANDLED.

AND THAT FEEDBACK SHOULD GO TO OSPI, TO THE STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENT AND TO THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE.

SO THERE WERE SEVERAL PEOPLE ON AND WE ALL HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ASK TO ANSWER VERY SPECIFIC QUESTIONS, EVERYTHING FROM HOW WE WERE ABLE TO GET TECHNOLOGY TO STUDENTS, TO HOW WE WERE ABLE TO FEED STUDENTS, TO HOW CONTACT TRACING WENT.

AND SO IT WAS A GOOD CHANCE FOR US TO ALL GIVE OUR IDEAS.

THERE WERE A LOT OF GOOD IDEAS ABOUT WHAT DID WORK, WHAT DIDN'T WORK.

SOME PEOPLE WERE TAKING BUSES OUT AND PUTTING WI-FI SPOTS OUT IN RURAL AREAS.

I DON'T KNOW THAT IF WE DID THAT OR NOT, BUT I THOUGHT NOW THAT'S A, THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA DURING THAT TIME.

THAT THEY WOULD HAVE A SPECIFIC TIME EACH DAY THAT THE BUS WOULD SIT AND PROVIDE WI-FI FOR A NEIGHBORHOOD, BASICALLY.

SO THAT WAS ONE OF THE GOOD IDEAS THAT I HEARD.

GREAT. BE GREAT TO THINK WE DON'T NEED THOSE AGAIN, BUT IT'S NICE TO HAVE THEM TESTED.

YEAH. WE HOPE WE DON'T.

YEAH, WE DID.

WE DIDN'T DO THAT.

OUR BUSES WEREN'T EQUIPPED TO DO THAT, BUT WE DID OPEN UP OUR CAMPUSES AND HAVE WI-FI CAFES IN OUR CAMPUSES.

REMEMBER THAT. PROTECTED AREAS.

AND I THINK EACH DISTRICT HANDLED IT.

IT'S SO SPECIFIC TO THE DISTRICT.

THERE ARE 295 DISTRICTS IN THE STATE.

EVERYBODY HAS DIFFERENT CHALLENGES.

BUT THERE WERE SOME COMMON CHALLENGES, THINK THAT'S WHAT WE LEARNED.

GREAT. YOU READY FOR ME? OH, LOOK AT THAT. JUST POPS RIGHT UP.

THAT'S GREAT. SO THIS IS THE ONGOING TRUST LANDS COMMITTEE, AND MY MOST RECENT MEETING WAS AN OPTIONAL ONE. BUT I FOUND VERY INTERESTING AND IT DOES IMPACT THINGS GOING ON.

SO THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES IN THE STATE OF WASHINGTON HAS A CARBON PROJECT THAT IS LOOKING TO SET ASIDE 10,000 ACRES OF FOREST AND ESSENTIALLY COMPANIES THAT WANT TO CLAIM THAT THEY ARE CARBON NEUTRAL ARE WILLING TO PAY MONEY. AND A LOT OF THOSE FORESTS RIGHT NOW ARE NOT GENERATING ANY REVENUE BECAUSE THEY'RE OFF LIMITS FOR ENDANGERED SPECIES.

POSSIBLY THEY'RE TOO CLOSE TO REPAIR AN AREA OR A RIVER THAT'S CONSIDERED TOO SENSITIVE TO CUT IN.

THEY MIGHT HAVE SPECIAL ECOLOGICAL VALUE, LIKE THEY CONTAIN OLD GROWTH TIMBER OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

AND SO THIS IS THE EFFORT OF THE DNR TO ACTUALLY GENERATE REVENUE OFF OF THOSE LANDS THAT CURRENTLY ARE KIND OF OFF LIMITS, OFF LIMITS TO BEING CUT AND SO CAN'T GENERATE MONEY THAT WAY AND ARE NOT GENERATING ANY MONEY JUST SITTING THERE.

AND SO AT LEAST A PORTION OF THAT WOULD GO TO THE COMMON SCHOOL TRUST, WHICH IS WHAT HELPS MATCH OUR BONDS AND SOME OF THE SCHOOL FUNDING.

SO THERE IS ANOTHER SLIDE THERE.

JUST THIS IS THEIR DESCRIPTION.

SO THEY HAVE 7500 ACRES LEFT TO SELECT.

AND YOU CAN SEE THE CRITERIA I KIND OF MENTIONED, THAT IT HAS A HIGH BIODIVERSITY, IT'S A SPECIAL LANDSCAPE, HAS ENDANGERED ECOSYSTEMS IN IT.

OR ALSO NOTICE THEY, A LOT OF INDIGENOUS TRIBES IN OUR AREA HAVE OBJECTIONS TO HAVING LOGGING ON SOME OF THEIR CATEGORIES AND THEY TEND TO TIE THEM UP IN COURT SOMETIMES.

AND SO AGAIN, THEY CAN'T GENERATE MONEY FOR THOSE.

SO THAT'S THE UPDATE ON THE CARBON PROJECT.

RIGHT. NO TOURS TO REPORTS.

SO NEXT UP IS DIRECTOR REPORTS.

ANYTHING YOU'D LIKE TO INCLUDE? I ATTENDED THE PRAIRIE HIGH SCHOOL JROTC VETERAN'S DAY ASSEMBLY, WHICH WAS WONDERFUL, RESPECTFUL, REVERENT AND ENTERTAINING.

I THINK I WAS EXTREMELY IMPRESSED WITH THE STUDENT BODY AT PRAIRIE AND THE REVERENCE AND RESPECT THAT THEY SHOWED.

I LEARNED SOMETHING, MANY THINGS, BUT ONE OF THE THINGS I LEARNED WAS THE MEANING OF THE 13 FOLDS OF THE FLAG.

THAT WAS AMAZING. THERE WAS A TOUCHING CEREMONY THAT HONORED POWS AND MIAS.

AND THEN THERE WAS REALLY THRILLING RIFLE SPINNING DISPLAY, WHICH KIND OF KEPT US SPELLBOUND.

BUT SO I JUST AM THANKFUL THAT THAT WE HAVE VETERANS DAY ASSEMBLIES.

AND I, TOO, WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE THE DISTRICT PARENTS, EMPLOYEES, ALL WHO HAVE SERVED US.

[00:30:06]

I REALLY RESPECT THAT.

AND I'M GLAD THAT WE HONOR THEM EACH YEAR IN THE SCHOOLS.

I ALSO ATTENDED A CHRISTMAS CAROL AT BATTLE GROUND HIGH SCHOOL LAST FRIDAY.

IT WAS A GREAT WAY TO GET INTO THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT AND I URGE PEOPLE TO GO AND ATTEND THE PLAY.

IT WAS GREAT. TAKE YOUR FAMILY AND SUPPORT.

IT'S ALSO A FUNDRAISER FOR THEIR TRIP TO EDINBURGH TO THE THEATER FESTIVAL, SO THEY HAVE LOTS OF MONEY TO RAISE AND I ENCOURAGE YOU TO GO SEE THE SHOW.

AS WELL I WOULD LIKE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT NOVEMBER IS PARENTS RIGHTS AND EDUCATION MONTH, AND I'M PROUD TO SERVE IN A DISTRICT THAT TAKES SERIOUSLY THE SACRED RIGHT OF PARENTS TO MAKE EDUCATIONAL DECISIONS FOR THEIR CHILDREN AS THEIR CHILDREN'S FIRST TEACHERS.

I REALLY SAW A GREAT DISPLAY OF THE PARTNERSHIP THAT WE HAVE WORKING BETTER TOGETHER.

LAST MONTH, WHEN I WENT TO THE CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE AND OUR DISTRICT STAFF, PARTICULARLY THE CURRICULUM DEPARTMENT, HAD A REALLY ROBUST CONVERSATION WITH THE PARENTS THAT WERE THERE ABOUT THE NEEDS THAT THEY HAVE FOR SUPPORT, HOW TO SUPPORT THEIR CHILDREN IN MATH.

AND IT JUST SHOWED ME THAT WHEN WE WORK TOGETHER AS PARTNERS, WE CAN DO A GREAT JOB.

I ALSO WANTED TO POINT OUT THAT ONE OF WSSDA'S POSITION STATEMENTS IS SUPPORTING THE PARTNERSHIP THAT WE HAVE WITH PARENTS.

THAT'S ALL I HAVE. GREAT.

LET'S SEE. I ATTENDED THIS MONTH'S CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE.

IT WAS ANOTHER GREAT CONVERSATION ABOUT FACILITIES AND NEEDS.

MR. JOLMA GAVE A GREAT OVERVIEW OF THE PROCESS FOR FUNDING AND BONDS.

IT WAS JUST REALLY EYE OPENING.

I WAS A PARENT IN THIS DISTRICT DURING THE LAST SEVERAL FAILURES OF THESE BONDS, AND SO IT WAS IT WAS REALLY JUST BREATHTAKING TO KIND OF HEAR IT ALL AGAIN.

AND SO AND TO BE A BIG PART OF THAT AND JUST TO GET INVOLVED.

AND IT'S EXHAUSTING, REALLY.

AND YET TO KNOW THAT ALL THESE YEARS LATER, WE STILL HAVE THE SAME NEEDS.

AND AS AN AMAZING OF A JOB AS MR. JOLMA AND HIS TEAM HAVE DONE TO KEEP OUR FACILITIES GOING, WE HAVE NEEDS.

AND SO IT WAS REALLY EYE OPENING TO JUST REVISIT A SUBJECT.

AND I THINK WE'LL HAVE SOME BOARD CONVERSATION ABOUT IT, I HOPE, AND BE ABLE TO GIVE SOME DIRECTION, BUT JUST AND JUST VERY IMPRESSED BY THE QUESTIONS, THE COMMENTS AND, YOU KNOW, JUST THE DESIRE TO LEARN FROM OUR FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES AND JUST, YOU KNOW, AND SOME KNEW A LITTLE, SOME KNEW A LOT, SOME.

AND SO JUST AND THE WIDE VARIETY OF, YOU KNOW, OF EVERYBODY'S KNOWLEDGE AND GETTING MISINFORMATION CLEARED UP. AND SO I JUST WAS REALLY IMPRESSED BY THAT.

AND AS I AM WITH EVERY CITIZEN'S ADVISORY COMMITTEE I GET TO ATTEND, IT IS JUST, IT'S JUST SUCH A GREAT ROOM, YOU KNOW, JUST THE DIFFERENT OPINIONS AND DIFFERENT QUESTIONS AND THINGS YOU DON'T THINK ABOUT INDIVIDUALLY.

SO TO SEE A GROUP COME TOGETHER LIKE THAT IS JUST REALLY IMPRESSIVE.

AND SO I'M VERY HAPPY TO BE A PART, BEING ABLE TO ATTEND SEVERAL.

GREAT. THANKS.

AS A FELLOW ATTENDEE, I AGREE.

I LIKE TO THINK I CAN KEEP UP ON ALL THAT STUFF, BUT I LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY TIME WE GO OVER THOSE DETAILS AGAIN.

AND WHEN IT COMES TIME TO GETTING ADVICE FROM OUR CITIZENS AND THAT SOMETIMES IT'S THOSE DETAILS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR FINAL CHOICE.

SO THANK YOU FOR THOSE PRESENTATIONS AND INFORMATION.

GREAT. I WANT TO ALSO THANK, I THINK, ONE OF OUR CITIZENS COMMENT PRESENTERS, JENNIFER HEINE WITH YOU TOO TO BRINGING ATTENTION TO THE PARENTS INVOLVEMENT IN SCHOOLS ISSUE.

AND I THINK I HAVE ANOTHER DOCUMENT TO THROW UP.

IT GOT ME CURIOUS AND FOUND OUT THAT THIS FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17TH, IS CONSIDERED FAMILY- SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP DAY AS DESIGNATED BY THE NATIONAL PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF TEACHERS.

AND ONE OTHER GROUP AS WELL THAT IMPRESSED ME ANYWAY.

AND I GOT TO LEARN THAT OUR NATIONAL PTA HAS BEEN AROUND FOR 125 YEARS NOW, AND THE PARENT INVOLVEMENT CELEBRATION HAS BEEN AROUND FOR 30 YEARS.

[00:35:03]

AND THIS 17TH, THEY'RE ACTUALLY GOING TO ROLL OUT AN UPDATE OF THEIR NATIONAL STANDARDS FOR PARENT INVOLVEMENT.

WHO WOULD HAVE GUESSED? WE HAVE STANDARDS FOR MATH AND SCIENCE AND ENGLISH AND SCHOOL BOARDS AND SUPERINTENDENTS.

AND THERE'S ACTUALLY STANDARDS FOR PARENT AND SCHOOL COMMUNICATIONS AND PARTNERSHIP.

AND I FOUND IT VERY HELPFUL.

THIS IS JUST THE TITLE PAGE, BUT I ENCOURAGE YOU TO GO FIND THE DOCUMENT AND TAKE A LOOK.

IT'S IMPRESSIVE. AND I WANT TO SAY IT'S A LOT OF WHAT WE HEARD FROM OUR STUDENTS TONIGHT ABOUT HOW THEIR PARENTS HAVE SUPPORTED THEM IN THEIR CHOICES AND DRIVING THEM BACK AND FORTH AND SETTING ASIDE ROOM AT THE TABLE TO HAVE A STUDY SPACE AND THINGS LIKE THAT.

SO I THINK YOU'LL FIND THEM INTERESTING AND WE'LL HEAR FROM OUR SPEAKER A LITTLE LATER.

ANYTHING ELSE FOR DIRECTOR REPORTS?

[6. Superintendent and Staff Updates]

ALL RIGHT. SUPERINTENDENT WATERS, THAT'S.

THANK YOU BOARD FOR US.

A LITTLE BIT OF REDUNDANCY IN MY PRESENTATION.

I APPRECIATE THE BOARD FOR IDENTIFYING THE SAME IMPORTANT TOPICS THAT I HAVE IDENTIFIED.

SO I WANTED TO ECHO MARY'S THOUGHTS REGARDING OUR VETERANS.

WE HAVE A GREAT DEAL OF STAFF MEMBERS WHO HAVE SERVED AND OUR VETERANS, AND I WANT TO THANK THEM PERSONALLY FOR THEIR SERVICE AND THEIR CONTINUED SERVICE TO OUR DISTRICT AND THEN ALSO OUR FAMILIES AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS WHO HAVE SERVED.

I, TOO, ATTENDED THE PRAIRIE VETERANS DAY ASSEMBLY, AND I WANT TO CONGRATULATE THE ROTC AT PRAIRIE.

THEY WERE VERY, VERY NERVOUS ABOUT PUTTING ON THIS ASSEMBLY.

THE FIRST ASSEMBLY.

COLONEL, COLONEL WILLIAMS, LEADS THE AIR FORCE ROTC OVER THERE, AND THEY ALL DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB.

AND TO MARY'S POINT, IT WAS, IT HAD A COMBINATION OF IT WAS EXCITING.

IT WAS VERY, VERY EMOTIONAL, HAD A LOT OF REVERENCE.

AND MY FAVORITE PART, MARY, WAS ALSO THE THE FLAG FOLDING AND THE DINNER, THE TABLE SETTING AND WHAT EVERYTHING MEANT. I ALSO WANTED TO BRING OBSERVANCE TO THE FACT THAT A MAJORITY OF OUR SCHOOLS HAD ALSO HAD VETERANS DAY ASSEMBLIES THAT OCCURRED DISTRICT WIDE.

SO I APPRECIATE THE EFFORTS OF STAFF TO MAKE SURE THAT THOSE AND STUDENTS TO MAKE SURE THAT THOSE WENT OFF WELL AS WELL.

WE'VE HAD SOME CHALLENGES IN THE DISTRICT.

I WANT TO APOLOGIZE TO THE PLEASANT VALLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL STAFF FOR SOME OF THE HEAT ISSUES THAT THEY STRUGGLED THROUGH.

BUT I ALSO WANT TO OFFER MY THANKS AND APPRECIATION TO OUR FANTASTIC MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT, WHO, AS SOON AS THEY FOUND OUT, JUMPED ON IT AND HAD IT HANDLED WITHIN A FEW HOURS. IF IT MAKES ANYBODY FEEL BETTER.

WE AT DISTRICT OFFICE ALSO STRUGGLED THROUGH THAT TODAY.

BUT ONCE AGAIN, MAINTENANCE JUMPS ON IT AS SOON AS THEY KNOW, THEY KNOW ABOUT IT.

SO REALLY APPRECIATE THAT.

THE CAC MEETING.

I WILL ECHO JACKIE'S THOUGHTS.

THOUGHT IT WAS AN OUTSTANDING CAC MEETING, HAD SEVERAL MEMBERS OF THE CAC TEAM WHO CAME UP TO ME AFTERWARDS AND ADMIT IT KIND OF SHEEPISHLY THAT THEY HAD VOTED NO ON BONDS IN THE PAST, BUT PROVIDING ME WITH EXPLANATION, WHICH ALSO PROVIDES INSIGHT.

AND MANY OF THEM SAID THAT, YOU KNOW, THEY JUST THEY DIDN'T GET THE INFORMATION.

THE INFORMATION WASN'T WIDESPREAD, AND THE ONLY INFORMATION THAT THEY HAD TO GO BY WAS THE VOTER'S PAMPHLET.

AND THEY WOULD READ THE PRO AND THEY WOULD READ THE CON AND THEY WOULD MAKE A CHOICE.

AND SO THAT WAS VERY, THAT WAS VERY, VERY INSIGHTFUL.

SO TO THINK ABOUT HOW WE PROMOTE BONDS AND AND WHAT WE DO TO GET THE INFORMATION OUT, I THINK, I THINK SOMETIMES WE'RE STILL ASKING PEOPLE TO MAKE STEPS AND COME FORWARD TO LEARN THE INFORMATION.

MAYBE WE HAVE TO DO A BETTER JOB TO PUT THE INFORMATION OUT IN FRONT OF THEM SO THAT THEY GET IT.

SO. ALWAYS HELPFUL.

ALWAYS WALK AWAY.

ALWAYS GET STRESSED OUT ABOUT THOSE MEETINGS BECAUSE IT'S ONE MORE THING THAT WE HAVE TO PLAN FOR, BUT ALWAYS WALK AWAY SO APPRECIATIVE.

SO I WANT TO THANK THE MEMBERS AND I ALSO WANT TO THANK THE BOARD.

I MEAN, OUR THREE BOARD MEMBERS WHO ARE HERE TONIGHT.

I'VE BEEN AT COUNTLESS MEETINGS, SO THANK YOU FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION AND I'M GLAD IT'S HELPFUL FOR YOU AS WELL.

THE LAST THING I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT, AND THIS IS FOR THE BOARD SPECIFICALLY, IS, AS YOU KNOW, WE CONTINUE TO DO OUR PODCASTS AND WE JUST FINISHED TWO.

WE JUST COMPLETED ONE ON EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES, SPORTS SPECIFICALLY, AND THEN WE DID ONE ON SCHOOL SAFETY AND SECURITY.

BUT ONE OF OUR NEXT PODCASTS, THEY WOULD LIKE TO DO ONE ON BEING A BOARD MEMBER.

[00:40:08]

AND SO MARK HAS GRACIOUSLY AGREED TO BE ONE OF THE BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT, BUT WE NEED SOMEBODY ELSE.

AND JACKIE HAS SAID THAT SHE'D BE WILLING TO SERVE AS A BACKUP.

SO I KNOW ROB AND TED ARE IN HERE, BUT MARY, I AM OFFERING IT OUT THERE.

SO IF IT'S SOMETHING THAT YOU'RE INTERESTED IN, PERHAPS YOU CAN JUST, YOU KNOW, MENTION IT TO ME AT A LATER TIME AND WE CAN WE CAN FIGURE SOMETHING OUT, I PROMISE.

I KNOW PODCASTS MAY SOUND LIKE, OH, YIKES, WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO HERE? BUT THEY ACTUALLY ARE QUITE FUN TO DO.

AND THEY'RE THEY'RE INTERESTING AND ENJOYABLE AND THEY'RE APPRECIATED BY OUR COMMUNITY, I THINK WITH THE RESPONSE THAT WE'VE GOTTEN, SO BEING A BOARD MEMBER, JUST PUTTING IT OUT THERE AND I THINK SORA IS GOING TO BE ON THAT PODCAST AS WELL FOR OUR SPOTLIGHT.

I KNOW THAT THAT RICARDO WAS ON LAST YEAR'S, ONE OF OUR LAST YEAR ONES, SO WE WERE GOING TO DO SORA AS OUR SPOTLIGHT AND THEN THE TWO BOARD MEMBERS. SO IT SHOULD BE FUN.

SO BE READY.

AND THAT'S IT FOR ME.

NEXT UP WOULD BE OUR TEACHING AND LEARNING REPORT.

AND AS YOU CAN SEE, SHELLEY IS NOT HERE.

SHELLEY IS LEADING A TEAM OF OUR TEACHING AND LEARNING STAFF.

THEY ARE RIGHT NOW IN SAN FRANCISCO ATTENDING A RESPONSE TO INTERVENTION AT WORK CONFERENCE.

SO THAT'S OUR RTI, WHICH WOULD BE PART OF OUR MTSS SYSTEM.

AND SHELLEY, I ASKED SHELLY TO PUT TOGETHER A STATEMENT ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE DOING THERE.

AND SO SHE PUT THIS AND I JUST LIKE TO READ IT.

THE DISTRICT HAS A STRONG TIERED APPROACH TO SUPPORT A SAFE AND CARING ENVIRONMENT FOR STUDENTS.

WE'RE WORKING TO FURTHER TIERED INTERVENTIONS FOR ACADEMIC SUPPORT, PARTICULARLY TO ADDRESS THE LEARNING LOSS THAT HAS OCCURRED DURING THE COVID PANDEMIC.

THE WORKSHOP WAS DEVELOPED FOR SCHOOL TEAMS WHO HAVE STARTED RTI BUT ARE STILL REFINING PROCESSES OR EXPERIENCING CHALLENGES.

ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE WANT TO MAKE SURE FOR ALL OF OUR STAFF AND WE KNOW THIS IS AN AREA OF CONCERN FOR THEM, BUT WHEN WE DO IMPLEMENT IT, WE WANT TO DO IT RIGHT.

WE DON'T WANT TO OVERWHELM ANYBODY.

WE DON'T WANT TO PUT OURSELVES IN A BAD SITUATION.

WE DON'T WANT TO INCREASE WORKLOAD FOR STAFF AND WE WANT TO SERVE THE NEEDS OF STUDENTS.

AND SO THIS IS JUST A CAREFUL APPROACH TO MAKING SURE WE IMPLEMENT THE SYSTEMS RIGHT, AND THIS IS A STEP IN THAT DIRECTION.

SO I'M EXCITED FOR THE TEAM TO BE THERE AND I THINK THEY'RE GOING TO GET A LOT OUT OF IT.

AND NEXT UP WOULD BE OUR H.R.

REPORT. BUT WE DON'T HAVE AN H.R.

REPORT TODAY. THANK YOU, MS. REINEHARDT. AND THEN NEXT UP BRINGS US TO OUR FINANCE REPORT.

GOOD EVENING. JUST A FEW UPDATES FOR YOU AND A RESPONSE TO AN ENROLLMENT QUESTION THAT WE HAD AT OUR LAST MEETING.

KEVIN AND I BOTH ATTENDED THE CITY OF BATTLE GROUND PLANNING COMMISSION.

WE WENT TO A WORK SESSION AND WE DID A PRESENTATION ON SCHOOL IMPACT FEES AND OUR CAPITAL FACILITY PLAN.

AND THEN WE ALSO WENT BACK UP FOLLOWING WEEK AND HAD A PUBLIC HEARING AND THE, THERE WAS NO COMMENT RECEIVED AND THERE WAS UNANIMOUS APPROVAL BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION TO MOVE OUR CAPITAL FACILITY PLAN AND SCHOOL IMPACT FEE REQUEST TO THE THE CITY OF BATTLE GROUND COUNCIL MEMBERS.

SO THAT WAS NICE.

AND THEN AND WE'LL UPDATE YOU AS AS WE CONTINUE THROUGH THE PROCESS.

THE END OF THE YEAR WRAPPED UP FOR THE 21-22 FINANCIAL STATEMENTS.

WE HAD OUR FISCAL YEAR ENDS 8-31.

SO IT TAKES US A COUPLE OF MONTHS TO GET EVERYTHING ALL WRAPPED UP IN OUR ACCRUALS AND TICKING AND TYING EVERYTHING.

AND WE'RE GOING TO PRESENT A REPORT TO THE BOARD ON OUR FULL FINANCIAL WRAP UP SO YOU'LL BE ABLE TO SEE ALL THE DIFFERENT FUNDS WHERE EVERYTHING LANDED AND FUND BALANCE.

AND THEN LAST THERE WAS AN ENROLLMENT QUESTION ABOUT STUDENTS THAT HAD RETURNED TO THE DISTRICT THAT HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY WITH BATTLE GROUND PUBLIC SCHOOLS, BUT WERE CURRENTLY BEING EITHER HOMESCHOOLED OR IN PRIVATE SCHOOL.

SO ABOUT 30% OF THE STUDENTS THAT RETURNED TO OUR SCHOOL SYSTEM CAME FROM HOMESCHOOLING OR PRIVATE SCHOOL.

AND THEN OF NEW STUDENTS THAT ENTER FOR THE FIRST TIME, ABOUT 10% OF THOSE STUDENTS WERE FROM HOME SCHOOL AND PRIVATE SCHOOL.

[00:45:06]

SO I THOUGHT I'D UPDATE YOU ON THAT.

THANK YOU FOR DOING THAT RESEARCH.

I KNOW IT'S NOT EASY TO DO.

YOU HAVE TO PULL THROUGH A LOT OF DIFFERENT THINGS.

SO THANK YOU. I ALSO WANT TO, YOU KNOW, BEFORE WE MOVE ON, I WANT TO COMMEND MICHELLE, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE SHE'S TAKING THE LEAD.

BUT KEVIN AS WELL, BECAUSE HE'S GIVEN A LOT OF ASSISTANCE ON, THE CAPITAL FACILITIES PROCESS IS ARDUOUS.

AND IT'S MORE SO FOR US BECAUSE WE HAVE FOUR DIFFERENT MUNICIPALITIES THAT WE ARE A PART OF.

AND JUST THE TIME AND EFFORT TO GO TO PLANNING MEETINGS AND THEN GO TO WHERE THEY VOTE AND THEN HAVE THESE CONVERSATIONS AND WORK ON THE DOCUMENT IS A LOT OF WORK. SO THANK YOU, MICHELLE.

AND THANK YOU, KEVIN. AND I PERSONALLY LIKE HAVING THE CONTRACTS TO REVIEW IN YOUR SECTION NOW.

THAT'S NICE. I HOPE ACTUALLY CITIZENS TAKE TIME TO FIND THAT IT'S NICE TO HAVE ALL THOSE KIND OF SHOWS, ALL THE BUSINESS THAT THE DISTRICT DOES FOR THAT TIME.

YEAH. NEXT UP, OPERATIONS.

DO YOU WANT ME TO JUST TALK? YEAH, YOU CAN.

YEAH. SO, YES, WE'VE RAN INTO SOME HEATING ISSUES.

AND THAT HAPPENS WHEN WE FIND OUT WHEN IT GETS REAL COLD.

OLDER BUILDINGS TEND TO BREAK DOWN.

CAM IS GOING WELL.

I'LL BE PRESENTING LATER ON TONIGHT, THIS EVENING, ON THE SECOND MODULAR SITE.

WORK IS PROCEEDING.

IT'S A MESS NOW THAT IT'S RAINING, BUT IT'S KIND OF NICE TO HAVE.

LOOKS LIKE TWO WEEKS OF DRY WEATHER, SO WE'LL GET SOME WORK DONE.

PROCEEDING FULL SPEED AHEAD.

FIRST MODULARS DUE IN ABOUT A MONTH.

THANK YOU, KEVIN. AND NEXT UP, COMMUNICATIONS.

ALL RIGHT. GOOD EVENING.

SO WE HAVE A COMMUNICATION SCORECARD FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER AND A COUPLE OF HIGHLIGHTS.

WE SAW A SHARP INCREASE IN ENGAGEMENT ON FACEBOOK.

ONE OF OUR MOST POPULAR POSTS LAST MONTH WAS ASKING PEOPLE WHAT WAS THEIR FAVORITE HOT LUNCH THAT THEY REMEMBERED.

AND I THINK THE TOP COMMENT WAS SOMEONE WHO SAID HAMBURGER GRAVY ON MASHED POTATOES.

IT'S KIND OF A FUN. YES, THAT IS A GOOD ONE.

WE ALSO SENT A VARIETY OF MESSAGES TO FAMILIES ON TOPICS RANGING FROM CURRICULUM AND IMMUNIZATIONS AND FREE AND REDUCED MEAL APPLICATIONS.

ALSO, MESSAGES ABOUT AIR QUALITY.

AND IF YOU GO, SECOND SLIDE.

THANKS. SO THESE ARE A FEW EXAMPLES OF THE PROJECT THAT THE TEAM WORKED ON LAST MONTH.

AND THE PICTURE ON THE RIGHT IS A PERFORMANCE BY THE US AIR FORCE BAND THAT WE HELPED PROMOTE.

IT WAS VERY WELL ATTENDED AND THAT'S A GREAT PICTURE BY CHRIS BROWN OF A BATTLE GROUND HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR, [INAUDIBLE] TURNER, WHO GOT TO CONDUCT THE BAND FOR A SONG.

PRETTY COOL. ON THE LEFT IS THE COVER OF THE ANNUAL REPORT, WHICH I TALKED ABOUT AT THE LAST MEETING, AND HOPEFULLY YOU RECEIVE THAT IN YOUR MAILBOXES SINCE THEN.

AND ON THE RIGHT IS A GRAPHIC THAT WAS CREATED BY JENNA BUESCHER-HILL THAT WILL BE USED ON THE READER BOARD AT AMBOY MIDDLE SCHOOL.

THEIR SIGN HAD BEEN DAMAGED AND IT WILL BE REPAIRED WITH THE UPDATED GRAPHIC THAT SHE DESIGNED.

NICE. AMANDA, I JUST WANT TO SAY I DID READ THE REPORT TO THE COMMUNITY, EVERY SINGLE DETAIL OF IT, AND I WAS SO IMPRESSED WITH HOW MUCH INFORMATION YOU WERE ABLE TO CLEARLY COMMUNICATE AND JUST YOUR GRAPHICS AND YOUR VISUAL BREAK THE INFORMATION DOWN IN A WAY THAT IT'S UNDERSTANDABLE. SO THANK YOU FOR THAT AND THANK YOUR STAFF FOR THAT.

ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I WILL.

YEAH. JENNA DID A GREAT JOB TRANSLATING ALL THAT COMPLEX AND INFORMATION INTO GRAPHICS.

AND AMANDA, I JUST WANT TO SAY REALLY, REALLY APPRECIATE THE SCORECARD THAT YOU PRESENT EVERY MONTH.

IT'S A GREAT IDEA. YEAH.

IT IS A GOOD IDEA. YEAH.

YEAH. YEAH, I LIKE IT A LOT.

AND THAT'S IT FOR US.

OKAY, GREAT.

[7. Citizens' Comments]

THAT BRINGS US TO OUR CITIZENS COMMENTS.

WE HAVE FOUR PEOPLE ON THE LIST.

SOME OF THEM ARE TRIED AND TRUE PRESENTERS, BUT WE HAVE A COUPLE OF PEOPLE THAT MIGHT HAVEN'T BEEN HERE A WHILE OR ARE NEW.

SO I'LL READ OUR PROTOCOL FOR CITIZENS COMMENTS.

YOU COME FORWARD TO THE PODIUM, STATE YOUR NAME.

WE HAVE A THREE MINUTE TIME LIMIT.

RICARDO WILL HOLD UP A 30 SECOND WARNING SIGN, BUT IT'S ALSO ON A TIMER ON THE SCREEN.

SO WE'LL PUT THAT TOGETHER.

REMINDER THAT BOARD MEMBERS DO NOT NORMALLY RESPOND TO QUESTIONS OR PETITIONS DURING THE CITIZENS COMMENTS, AND THEY WILL LISTEN AND GIVE DIRECTION TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE TEAM.

OUR SILENCE DOES NOT INDICATE THAT WE AGREE OR DISAGREE.

WE'RE JUST TAKING INPUT AND THEN BRINGING IT TO THOSE WHO CAN MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN.

SO WITH THAT, OUR FIRST PRESENTER IS SARAH.

[00:50:03]

THANKS FOR BEING HERE. I AM SARAH GARRETSON.

CAN YOU HEAR ME? YEAH. OKAY.

AND THIS IS MY SECOND TIME BEING HERE.

NEW TOPIC.

TOPIC TODAY THAT I WANTED TO SHARE A RECAP WITH YOU GUYS ON THAT I SHARED WITH THE CAC LAST WEEK HAS TO DO WITH THE CURRICULUM ADOPTION ON THE FINAL FOUR. THERE WAS AN OPEN HOUSE.

THERE WERE TWO SESSIONS, ONE OF WHICH I ATTENDED AND DID SOME FOLLOW UP RESEARCH ONLINE OF THE FOUR VENDORS ACROSS TWO TOPICS, AND I DEVELOPED SOME CRITERIA USING THE BOARD'S STRATEGIC PLAN AS WELL AS THE BATTLE GROUND SCHOOL DISTRICTS POLICY THAT I FOUND ONLINE ON CURRICULUM INSTRUCTION SPECIFICALLY.

AND I JUST, I WANTED TO SHARE THIS BECAUSE I FEEL VERY STRONGLY ABOUT THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION AND VERY SPECIFICALLY ABOUT CRITICAL THINKING IN OUR CURRICULUM.

STUDENTS THESE DAYS ARE PRESENTED WITH A LOT OF INFORMATION THAT'S INFORMATION AGE, AND THEY'RE LEARNING A LOT.

AND SO WHAT CURRICULUM CAN DO TO HELP STUDENTS IN BEING INDEPENDENT THINKERS QUESTION THE SOURCES OF MATERIAL AND BE VERY MINDFUL OF THE INFORMATION AND HOW IT IMPACTS THEIR LIFE.

I THINK THOSE ARE THE THINGS THAT REALLY DROVE ME.

BUT THE CRITERIA THAT I USED WAS REASON, CLARITY OF MATERIAL, PROFESSIONAL JUDGMENT.

I HAVE 30 YEARS OF FEDERAL EXPERIENCE, I'M EDUCATED AND APPLIED COMMON SENSE.

AND THEN LOOKING AT THE ORGANIZATION OF MATERIAL AND HOW WELL IT WAS SUCCINCTLY ORGANIZED OR AS A COMMENT ABOUT THE EARLIER ABOUT THE ANNUAL REPORT.

IT'S STUFF LIKE THAT.

IS INFORMATION DIGESTIBLE.

CAN YOU UNDERSTAND IT? SO MY VOTE WAS FOR SAVVIS, AND THAT WAS PRIMARILY BECAUSE THEY'RE VERY WELL ORGANIZED.

INFORMATION WAS CLEAR.

THERE'S STUDENT PARENT PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AND A LOT OF CRITICAL THINKING, TIP SHEETS.

AND I JUST REALLY ADMIRED HOW THOROUGH THE CONTENT WAS.

AND THERE WERE ALSO LANGUAGE CHOICES.

SO IT WASN'T JUST ENGLISH.

AND I KNOW THAT THE BOARD HERE CAN RECOGNIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF HAVING DIFFERENT LANGUAGE OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS.

SO THAT'S MY RECAP, AND I REALLY APPRECIATE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE WITH YOU GUYS.

AND ALSO WANT TO LET YOU KNOW THAT MY EXPERIENCE IN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS VERY EXTENSIVE WHEN IT COMES TO VENDOR SELECTION, RATING AND RANKING.

I SAVED OUR COMPANY OVER $1.2 BILLION INVESTMENT AND IT WAS BECAUSE OF RESEARCH THAT I DO.

SO THANK YOU.

THANK YOU, SARAH. THANK. AND LORRI SIBLEY.

COME ON UP. GOOD TO SEE YOU IN A WHILE.

HI, LORRI. HELLO, MY NAME IS LORRI SIBLEY.

I WORK AT DAYBREAK PRIMARY.

TEACHER, SECOND GRADE.

AND I'M ALSO SPEAKING ABOUT THE ADOPTION, BUT FOR A DIFFERENT REASON.

I AM SPEAKING IN REGARDS TO THE BUDGET FOR THE ADOPTIONS.

THERE'S THREE MAJOR ADOPTIONS THAT OUR DISTRICT IS LOOKING AT.

THERE'S THE K-8 ELA, ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS, AND THEN THE SOCIAL STUDIES MIDDLE SCHOOL, AND THEN OUR SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING CURRICULUM.

THREE HUGE, I MEAN, REALLY HUGE ADOPTIONS, VERY IMPORTANT ADOPTIONS THAT WE'RE LOOKING AT.

AND WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THE BUDGET FOR THAT IS $3.75 MILLION.

AND TO THE AVERAGE, THAT MIGHT SOUND LIKE, OH, THAT'S A LOT OF MONEY.

TO PUT IT INTO PERSPECTIVE, 15 YEARS AGO I WAS ON THE ADOPTION COMMITTEE FOR THE ONE THAT WE ADOPTED [INAUDIBLE] TOWN.

THAT BUDGET WAS $2.5 MILLION FOR THAT ENTIRE CURRICULUM AND THAT WAS 15 YEARS AGO.

I'M PRETTY SURE MATERIALS COST A LOT MORE NOW.

SO NOT ONLY ARE WE BUYING ONE CURRICULUM OR ADOPTING ONE CURRICULUM, WE'RE ADOPTING THREE FOR A LITTLE OVER A MILLION MORE DOLLARS. IT'S NOT ENOUGH MONEY, JUST SAYING.

SO OUR MOST IMPORTANT JOB IN THIS DISTRICT IS TEACHING KIDS.

[00:55:04]

WE HAVE GOT TO REACH THEM.

WE HAVE GOT TO PROVIDE THEM WITH THE SCIENCE OF READING.

WE HAVE TO, WE AND WE HAVE TO PUT THE BEST MATERIALS IN THEIR HANDS, IN THE HANDS OF TEACHERS SO THAT WE CAN DO AN EFFECTIVE JOB.

WITH THE BUDGET LIKE THAT, IT'S LIMITED AT BEST.

OUR ADOPTION COMMITTEE WASN'T EVEN ABLE TO LOOK AT ALL THE BEST MATERIALS OUT THERE BECAUSE SOME OF THE MATERIALS WERE ALREADY OVER $3.5 MILLION FOR JUST THAT ONE.

SO THEY WERE KNOCKED OFF THE LIST AND THEY WERE NEVER EVEN BROUGHT TO THE ADOPTION COMMITTEE TO LOOK AT BECAUSE THEY COST TOO MUCH.

AND SO WE LOOKED AT EIGHT AND ARE IN THE PROCESS OF NARROWING DOWN.

WE'RE DOWN TO FOUR AND WE'RE LOOKING FOR A PROGRAM THAT WILL MEET MOST OF THE NEEDS.

NO PROGRAM IS PERFECT, OF COURSE.

SO, BUT MANY OF THOSE EIGHT PROGRAMS THAT WE'VE REVIEWED DON'T EVEN MEET THE SCIENCE OF READING CRITERIA, WHICH IS ESSENTIAL.

WE HAVE TO HAVE THAT.

ONE OF THE PROGRAMS THAT MIGHT BE SELECTED, I MEAN, IT'S JUST, IT'S OF THE TOP FOUR.

THEY, ACCORDING TO OUR BUDGET THAT WE HAVE TO SPEND, THEY WILL ONLY, WE WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO GET HALF CLASS SET OF CORE READING MATERIALS.

SO INSTEAD OF HAVING 20 OF A BOOK, WE'LL HAVE TEN OF THE BOOK.

SO WHEN WE'RE READING IT ALL TOGETHER, KIDS WILL HAVE TO SHARE.

THAT'S NOT PROBABLY BEST PRACTICE, AND I'M JUST ASKING THE DISTRICT TO LOOK AT ITS POSSIBLE, SORRY, RESERVE FUND AND, YOU KNOW, POSSIBLY LOOK AT WAYS TO ADD DOLLARS SO THAT WE CAN GET THE RIGHT MATERIALS BECAUSE I THINK OUR ALL OF OUR STUDENTS ARE WORTH THE INVESTMENT.

SO THAT'S IT. SORRY, I WENT OVER.

THAT'S ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU. THANK YOU, LORRI.

JENNIFER.

GOOD EVENING. GOOD TO SEE YOU.

THANK YOU. I'M A LITTLE BIT HOARSE.

I JUST GOT OVER COVID, BUT I AM NEGATIVE.

I TOOK A TEST. I FIRST OF ALL, JUST WANT TO THANK THE BOARD FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY THAT WAS AT THE BEGINNING OF OCTOBER.

AND THIS IS PROBABLY MOSTLY FOR PEOPLE WHO WEREN'T THERE, WHO MIGHT BE WATCHING THIS OR LISTENING THAT DON'T KNOW.

AT THE WASHINGTON STATE SCHOOL DIRECTORS ASSOCIATION GENERAL ASSEMBLY, A POSITION WAS PROPOSED WHICH STATED PARENTS AND FAMILIES ARE IMPORTANT STAKEHOLDERS IN THEIR CHILDREN'S EDUCATION.

NOW, THE RESOLUTIONS COMMITTEE FOR WSSDA RECOMMENDED A DO NOT PASS ON THIS POSITION, BUT BOTH TIMES THAT IT WAS VOTED ON BATTLE GROUND VOTED FOR THIS POSITION.

AND I SINCERELY WANT TO THANK YOU FOR TAKING THAT STAND.

I ALSO WANT TO THANK YOU FOR RECOGNIZING NOVEMBER AS PARENTS RIGHTS IN EDUCATION MONTH.

FOR THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW WHY NOVEMBER, IT'S BECAUSE IT WAS IN NOVEMBER OF 2005 THAT THE NINTH CIRCUIT COURT STOLE PARENTS RIGHTS WITH THEIR RULING IN FIELDS VERSUS PALMDALE SCHOOL DISTRICT.

THAT RULING STATED THAT THE MEYER PIERCE RIGHT OF PARENTS TO DIRECT THE UPBRINGING OF THEIR CHILDREN DOES NOT EXIST BEYOND THE THRESHOLD OF THE SCHOOL DOOR. THESE EFFORTS MANDATING PARENTS RIGHTS DO NOT EXIST COMPROMISE THE INALIENABLE RIGHTS OF PARENTS TO RAISE THEIR CHILDREN WITH THE VALUE SYSTEM THEY CHOOSE AND ARE CONTRARY TO THE SPIRIT OF THE LOCAL PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT.

SO THE PROCLAMATION THAT MARY MENTIONED, IT STATES, IN RECOGNITION OF THE VITAL IMPORTANCE FOR EDUCATION, EXCELLENCE AND MEANINGFUL COLLABORATION BETWEEN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND FAMILIES WE RECOGNIZE NOVEMBER AS PARENTS RIGHTS IN EDUCATION MONTH.

WHEREAS, WE ACKNOWLEDGE PARENTS ARE THE CHILD'S FIRST AND FOREMOST EDUCATOR AND HAVE THE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE EDUCATION, CARE AND TRAINING OF THEIR CHILDREN.

AND, WHEREAS, EDUCATION IS COMPRISED OF A RANGE OF ACTIVITIES BY WHICH FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES TEACH KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS, INCLUDING ETHICAL AND BEHAVIORAL NORMS AND TRADITIONS, AND WHERE FAIRNESS AND EQUALITY MUST BE AFFORDED TO ALL STUDENTS AND FAMILIES IN THE SCHOOL DISTRICT.

[01:00:03]

AND, WHEREAS, PUBLIC SCHOOLS NEED COOPERATION AND SUPPORT OF ALL PARENTS.

AND, WHEREAS, THE PARENT CHILD RELATIONSHIP SHALL BE HONORED AND SUPPORTED BY TEACHERS, COUNSELORS, ADMINISTRATORS AND SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS, THEREFORE, WE DECLARE NOVEMBER PARENTS RIGHTS IN EDUCATION MONTH, AFFIRMING THE CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS OF PARENTS TO DIRECT THE EDUCATION AND UPBRINGING OF THEIR CHILDREN.

AND I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR THAT.

THANK YOU, JENNIFER. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

AND OUR FINAL SIGNED UP SPEAKER, [INAUDIBLE].

GOOD EVENING, BOARD. MY NAME IS [INAUDIBLE], AND I USE SHE HER PRONOUNS.

I'M A COMMUNITY MEMBER IN THIS DISTRICT.

I WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE SPECIAL WEEKEND I JUST HAD.

I WENT TO NEW YORK CITY TO BE AT THE WORLD PREMIERE OF THE FILM 1946.

THE MISTRANSLATION THAT SHIFTED CULTURE.

THIS FILM ANSWERS THE QUESTION, WHAT IF THE WORD HOMOSEXUAL WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE IN THE BIBLE? IN A QUEST TO UNCOVER THE ORIGINS OF THE HOMOPHOBIA THAT PLAGUES THE CONSERVATIVE CHURCH, A GAY SEMINARY SCHOLAR AND A STRAIGHT ACTIVIST, RESEARCHER AND AUTHOR MAKES A SHOCKING DISCOVERY THAT IN 1946, AN ERRONEOUS, ALTHOUGH BENIGN OR NOT MALIGNANT TRANSLATION OF ONE GREEK VERSE PUT THE WORD HOMOSEXUAL IN THE BIBLE, AND THE BIBLE HAS BEEN USED AS A SACRED WEAPON AGAINST THE LGBTQIA COMMUNITY EVER SINCE.

THE COMPLICATED PERSONAL STORY OF DIRECTOR ROCKY [INAUDIBLE] AS A GAY DAUGHTER OF A BAPTIST MINISTER IS THE BACKBONE THAT WE SEE OTHER STORIES AND EXPERT COMMENTS TOGETHER.

I WAS A PART OF A SMALL TEAM PRAYING FOR ROCKY AND THE PROJECT FOR TWO PLUS YEARS BECAUSE I WANTED THIS STORY TO BE TOLD TO THE WHOLE WORLD TO ENCOURAGE THOUGHTFUL AND CIVIL CONVERSATIONS RESULTING IN A POSITIVE CHANGE INSIDE THE CHURCH AND IN GENERAL COMMUNITY.

EVEN THOUGH THE FILM WON'T BE WIDELY AVAILABLE FOR A WHILE, FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS YOU CAN STREAM THE MOVIE TO YOUR SCREENS BY GOING TO TICKETS, DOT, DOC AND YZ DOT NET.

I WOULD LIKE TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO WATCH THE FILM.

IT WILL GIVE YOU A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF WHY I, AS AN EVANGELICAL CHRISTIAN, WAS CONFLICTED BETWEEN FAITH AND LOVE, WHY I WAS MORE READY TO TAKE MY DAUGHTER TO A CONVERSION THERAPY WHEN SHE CAME OUT AS GAY AND HAD NO IDEA THAT MY WORLDVIEW WAS MAKING HER WORLD A DIFFICULT PLACE TO THRIVE IN.

I'M HAPPY TO SAY THAT LOVE DID WIN OUT AND MY FAITH DID A COURSE CORRECTION AS I GOT BETTER INFORMED.

I WISH THIS HAPPENED WHEN MY DAUGHTER WAS MUCH YOUNGER AND BETTER YET, BEFORE SHE EVEN KNEW HER IDENTITY.

I'M SHARING THIS LITTLE TIDBIT IN THE HOPES OF HELPING THE YOUTH OF OUR DISTRICT HAVE A MORE WELCOMING, ACCEPTING AND THRIVING ENVIRONMENT.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

ALL RIGHT. ANYBODY ELSE? JUST IN CASE. OKAY.

WE DID PRETTY GOOD THERE. WE GOT THE CITIZENS COMMENT BEFORE A WHOLE HOUR WENT UP.

THAT'S BETTER THAN USUAL.

SO THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE.

APPRECIATE YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS.

[8. Consent Agenda]

NEXT UP IS OUR CONSENT AGENDA.

TONIGHT, OUR CONSENT AGENDA INCLUDES ITEMA APPROVAL OF THE CONSENT AGENDA, ITEM B, APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 24TH REGULAR MEETING AND ITEMC APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FOR THE OCTOBER 24TH SPECIAL MEETING.

ITEM D IS OUR BUSINESS AND OPERATIONS.

ITEM E, PERSONNEL REPORTS.

ITEM F, STUDENT TRAVEL.

AND ITEM G, COMPLETED PROJECTS REQUEST FOR APPROVAL.

ANY QUESTIONS OR ITEMS ON THE CONSENT AGENDA THAT NEED THEIR OWN SPACE.

I'D MOVE THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA AS PRESENTED.

IT'S BEEN MOVED TO APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA AS PRESENTED.

ALL THOSE IN FAVOR SIGNIFY BY SAYING AYE.

AYE. ALL THOSE OPPOSED.

CONSENT AGENDA IS APPROVED 3-0.

GREAT. DID ANY OF OUR STUDENTS HAVE ANY COMMENTS ON THE CONSENT AGENDA?

[01:05:03]

ANYTHING WE WANT TO PULL OUT THIS TIME? I WAS LOOKING AT THE STUDENT TRAVEL AND I WAS JUST, I ALWAYS LOOK AT THAT BECAUSE IT'S INTERESTING.

YEAH. I DON'T KNOW ANYONE WHO'S ON THERE, BUT I WAS LOOKING AT SOME STATE AND DISTRICT TOURNAMENTS THAT SOME STUDENTS IN OUR DISTRICT ARE GOING TO. SO CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CROSS COUNTRY TEAM AND THE VOLLEYBALL TEAM AT PRAIRIE AND THE GIRLS SWIM TEAM AT BATTLE GROUND.

YEAH, GOOD LUCK TO THEM.

WE WILL BE DOING A STATE SEND OFF FOR OUR TEAMS THAT HAVE GONE TO STATE.

SO I BELIEVE WEDNESDAY IN THE MORNING WE WILL BE HAVING ONE AND THEN FRIDAY AS WELL.

SO THAT'S ALWAYS REALLY FUN.

YOU GET A LOT OF PEOPLE FROM THE SCHOOL COMING IN AND SUPPORTING AND THEN THE BAND PLAYS AND IT'S REALLY FUN TO BE A COMMUNITY.

NICE. GREAT.

THANK YOU FOR THAT. I KNOW I LOOK EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, BUT IT ALWAYS AMAZES ME WHEN I LOOK AT THE PAYROLL REPORT AND REALIZE THAT IT'S $13 MILLION A MONTH ITEM.

A SCHOOL IS REALLY ONE OF THE LARGER BUSINESSES IN ITS OWN CITY OR COUNTY SOMETIMES.

SO IT'S A BIG OPERATION.

THANK YOU FOR KEEPING TRACK OF ALL THAT STUFF.

ALL RIGHT. NO OLD BUSINESS.

BRINGS US TO NEW BUSINESS.

[10. New Business]

OUR FIRST ITEM, ITEM A, REVISION OF POLICY 6112, RENTAL AND LEASE AGREEMENTS FOR SURPLUS PROPERTY.

YES. SO IN THE 22 LEGISLATIVE SESSION, THEY WERE PASSING SOME LEGISLATION IN REGARDS TO POSSESSION OF WEAPONS IN CERTAIN LOCATIONS AND NOT ONLY ON SCHOOL DISTRICT PROPERTY, BUT IF A BOARD WAS LEASING A FACILITY OFF SITE OF A SCHOOL DISTRICT, THAT THOSE POLICIES OF BRINGING WEAPONS TO THOSE MEETINGS WAS PROHIBITED.

SO THEY ALSO EXTENDED IT TO DURING THAT SESSION TO ALSO UPDATING THE SCHOOL DISTRICT POLICY.

I MEAN WE ALL KNOW THAT OUR, THERE ARE NO FIREARMS ALLOWED ON SCHOOL PROPERTY TO KNOWINGLY POSSESS THEM BUT AND WEAPONS, BUT THIS JUST BRINGS A LITTLE MORE CLARITY TO THE POLICY, 6112.

SO THERE'S THAT PART OF THE CHANGE AS WELL AS IN THE 2020 LEGISLATIVE SESSION, THERE WAS A RECAPTURE OF CLAUSE FOR LEASES.

AND IT'S, IT'S NOT ALWAYS NECESSARY TO ALWAYS PUT ALL OF THE RCW INTO THE POLICY.

BUT WHEN LOOKING AT THIS, I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A GOOD TO HAVE IT IN THE POLICY SO THAT IT'S NOT FORGOTTEN WHEN LEASES ARE DONE BECAUSE IT IS A REQUIREMENT TO HAVE IT IN A POLICY OR I'M SORRY, A LEASE AGREEMENT OR RENTAL AGREEMENT.

SO I DECIDED THAT WE SHOULD PROBABLY WHILE WE'RE UPDATING THE POLICY, GO AHEAD AND ADD THAT AS WELL, JUST SO IT JUST IS RIGHT THERE.

SO WHEN WE'RE DOING THOSE AGREEMENTS.

ALSO THE WSDDA MODEL POLICY IS FOR RENTAL LEASE OF REAL DISTRICT REAL PROPERTY. AND SO I WAS JUST THINKING THAT THE CHANGING OF THE NAME TO THE REAL PROPERTY WOULD ALIGN WITH WSDDA AND THAT WOULD BE A GOOD CHANGE.

SO THOSE ARE MY RECOMMENDATIONS.

DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS? SO DOES THE MODEL POLICY SAY REAL PROPERTY? IT DOES. OKAY, GREAT, GREAT.

AND JUST FOR CITIZENS THAT MIGHT BE LISTENING IN.

OTHER THAN A FEW AGRICULTURAL SUBLEASES, DO WE HAVE ANY OTHER LEASED REAL PROPERTY? NO. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? NO, I DON'T HAVE A QUESTION.

I JUST. IT WAS JUST A CLARIFYING FOR ME TO READ THE LAST SENTENCE WHERE IF WE HAD A HOUSE THAT WE RENTED TO A HOMEOWNER, THAT THEY STILL HAVE THE RIGHT TO CARRY A FIREARM WITHIN THEIR HOME.

AND SO I THINK THAT WHILE IT'S EXCLUDING IT ON SCHOOL PROPERTY, IT DOESN'T EXCLUDE THE RIGHT OF A HOMEOWNER.

SO, YES, I THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD YES TO POINT OUT.

THANK YOU. I THINK WE'RE LOOKING FOR A MOTION ON THE REVISION OF POLICY 60.

YEAH, THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THERE'S ONLY THREE.

[01:10:03]

YEAH. I MOVE THAT THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPROVE POLICY.

I'M LOOKING FOR THE NUMBER HERE.

6112, AS REVISED.

WE HAVE MOTION TO APPROVE THE REVISION OF POLICY 6112, RENTAL OR LEASE OF DISTRICT REAL PROPERTY, ALTHOUGH IT WAS CALLED SURPLUS PROPERTY AT THE TIME.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? ALL THOSE IN FAVOR SIGNIFY BY SAYING AYE.

AYE. ALL THOSE OPPOSED.

REVISION IS APPROVED 3-0.

AND I JUST WANTED TO MENTION THAT SANDY IS VERY INSTRUMENTAL IN HELPING WITH THE WORK THAT GOES INTO THESE POLICY CHANGES.

AND SO IN GUIDING AS DISTRICT EMPLOYEES, YOU KNOW, TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL OF THE T'S ARE CROSSED AND ALL THE I'S ARE DOTTED.

SO I JUST WANTED TO GIVE A BIG SHOUT OUT TO SANDY BECAUSE SHE PLAYS A VERY LARGE PART IN THIS.

SO THANK YOU, SANDY.

THANK YOU. GREAT.

AND I AGREE. ME, TOO.

AND SHE'S VERY PATIENT.

SOME OF US. ALL OF US.

OKAY. THAT BRINGS US TO OUR NEXT ITEM OF NEW BUSINESS.

CONTRACT APPROVAL FOR THE CAM 100 BUILDING MODULAR.

MR. JOLMA. GOOD EVENING, BOARD.

TONIGHT, I'M PRESENTING YOU THE CONTRACT TO CONSTRUCT AND PLACE THE SECOND MODULAR ON THE CAM CAMPUS.

AS I MENTIONED EARLIER, WE'RE DOING REAL WELL.

THE FIRST FOUNDATIONS IN AND A LOT OF THE SITE WORKS IN AND WAITING.

WAITING FOR THE ARRIVAL OF THE FIRST MODULE.

THIS IS THE SECOND MODULE WHICH WILL HOUSE THE THIRD THROUGH SIXTH GRADERS.

AND IT'S A MUCH MORE TYPICAL TEN PLEX LIKE WE'VE BUILT BEFORE.

THIS PROJECT IS AT $3,267,707, WHICH IS JUST A LITTLE OVER $290,000 LESS THAN THE PREVIOUS MODULAR WHERE WE HAD THE SCIENCE ROOMS WERE ADDED THAT COST AND SIZE.

SO YOU KNOW THE PROJECT.

IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS, I'D BE GLAD TO ANSWER THEM.

AND THIS IS ALL FROM IMPACT FEES.

THIS IS ALL PAID THROUGH IMPACT FEES.

YES. AND THANK YOU, JACKIE.

JACKIE DID NOTE A TYPO I HAVE IN HERE.

I PUT THIS WRONG SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION DATE.

I PUT AUGUST 31ST, 2022, WHICH IS BEHIND US.

OBVIOUSLY I'LL CHANGE THAT TO 23 AND IT WON'T AFFECT ANYTHING.

IT WILL BE CHANGED BEFORE SIGNING.

SORRY, JACKIE, I CUT YOU OFF.

NO, I WAS JUST GOING TO SAY WHEN DO THEY THINK THIS ONE WILL ARRIVE? IS IT STILL LIKE IT IS THE OTHER ONE ON TIME, I GUESS.

I WAS SCRATCHING MY HEAD WHAT I TOLD YOU LAST TIME? IT'S MARCH OR APRIL.

YES. IT WAS IN MY PRESENTATION LAST.

WHAT I LEARNED IN MY CAREER AS DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT AND SUPERINTENDENT IS THEY'RE ALWAYS ON TIME UNTIL THEY'RE NOT ANYMORE . AND ON BUDGET. [LAUGHTER] YEAH.

AND SO IS CAM TYPICALLY RUNNING TWO CLASSES OF EACH GRADE STILL? YES. YES. YES.

AND, HAVE THEY, IS THAT JUST KIND OF WHAT THEY'VE COME UP WITH AS THEY'RE.

WELL, I MEAN, IT IS.

THAT'S AN INTERESTING QUESTION, MARK, BECAUSE I THINK, YOU KNOW, TO SOME EXTENT I THINK THERE ARE SOME GRADES WHO COULD RUN MAYBE ONE MORE MORE CLASS. BUT WE'VE JUST BEEN LIMITED BY, WE WERE LIMITED BY THE SPACE OVER THERE.

AND TO SOME DEGREE, YOU KNOW.

WE HAVE DESIGNED THE ABILITY TO EXPAND.

WE HAD TALKED ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTENDING DOWN, NOT EXTENDING THE NUMBER OF CLASSES.

RIGHT, DOWN TO K1 TOO.

DOWN TO K1 TOO AT SOME POINT.

SO THAT POSSIBILITY STILL EXISTS.

THERE'S CERTAINLY ROOM ON SITE TO DO IT.

IT'S JUST NOT IN OUR PLAN NOW, OUR SITE PLAN NOW.

SO IS A TEN PLEX, IS TWO OF THOSE ROOMS THE RESTROOMS OR IS IT TEN CLASSROOMS? TEN CLASSROOMS YEAH.

AND THEN PLUS THE RESTROOMS. OKAY. SO THERE'S SOME LEEWAY IN THERE BECAUSE.

NO, YOU'RE NOT GOING TO GET ANOTHER CLASSROOM.

THAT'S JUST GOING TO BE TEN IN THERE.

BUT WE DO HAVE A ROOM ON THE SITE, IF IN THE FUTURE THEY WANTED TO EXPAND, WE COULD GO MORE THAN THESE THREE PROPOSED BUILDINGS.

RIGHT. WE WOULD PROBABLY ADD ANOTHER SIX PLEX OR TEN PLEX.

[01:15:05]

RIGHT. ALL RIGHT.

RICARDO AND SORA, DO YOU REMEMBER HAVING CLASSES IN A TEN PLEX? AT SOME POINT.

IN MY PRIMARY SCHOOL DAYS.

YEAH. THEY'RE VERY NICE.

YOU CAN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE FROM BEING ON A, INSIDE OF A STICK AND BRICK AND MORTAR INSIDE THE CLASSROOM.

ALL THE SAME AMENITIES.

I MOVE THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPROVE THE CONTRACT WITH ARIES BUILDING SYSTEMS FOR THE CAM 100 BUILDING 10-CLASSROOM MODULAR.

MOVE TO APPROVE THE CAM 100 MODULAR BUILDING.

ANY FURTHER QUESTIONS? ALL THOSE IN FAVOR SIGNIFY BY SAYING AYE.

AYE. ALL THOSE OPPOSED.

BUILDING IS APPROVE 3-0.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. WELL, HOPE FOR EARLY DELIVERY OR ON TIME DELIVERY.

RIGHT ON TIME. RIGHT ON TIME.

OKAY. NEXT UP ON OUR AGENDA IS ACTUALLY LOOKING INTO OUR FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS.

[11. Future Agenda Items and Board Events]

WE WERE GOING TO MAKE NOTIFICATION THAT THE FIRST MEETING IN DECEMBER, ACCORDING TO POLICY 1210, I BELIEVE, IS OUR ANNUAL ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING WHERE WE MIGHT SWITCH OFFICERS OR COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS.

THERE'S BEEN A DOCUMENT SENT AROUND TO LET EVERYBODY KNOW THE HISTORY OF THAT.

SO TAKE A LOOK AT THOSE.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT RESPONSIBILITIES FOR A PARTICULAR POSITION OR COMMITTEE, WE TRY TO INCLUDE AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE, BUT OH, THAT HASN'T. OKAY.

ALL RIGHT. WE WILL REFINE THAT AND GET THAT.

LUCKILY, WE HAVE A MEETING IN BETWEEN.

SO I'M JUST A BELIEVER IN GIVING PEOPLE AS MUCH NOTICE AS POSSIBLE ON THOSE THINGS.

SO. MR. WATRIN, WOULD YOU LIKE THAT CHAIR TOMORROW WITH, WOULD YOU LIKE THAT DOCUMENT SHARED WITH THE BOARD? DO YOU THINK IT'S READY? 98.

OKAY. I SAY YES.

OKAY. YEAH, THAT WOULD BE GREAT.

LET'S SEE. SEEMS LIKE I HAD SOMETHING ELSE ON IT TOO.

NO, I GUESS. ANYTHING.

ANYTHING ELSE ON FUTURE. I JUST WANT TO REMIND EVERYBODY THAT ON WEDNESDAY WE'RE HEADING OUT TO THE WSSDA CONFERENCE.

IF YOU NEED, IF YOU'RE MISSING ANY INFORMATION LIKE YOU CONFIRMATION, YOUR FLIGHT CONFIRMATION NUMBER, LET US KNOW. WE CAN MAKE SURE WE GET THAT TO YOU.

AND WE'LL JUST SEE EVERYBODY AT THE GATE AT THE AIRPORT ON THAT DATE.

DON'T FORGET YOUR ID.

AND WE HAVE RESERVATIONS.

WE HAVE A DINNER THURSDAY NIGHT THAT'S PROVIDED BY THE CONFERENCE.

AND THEN ON FRIDAY EVENING, WE HAVE A DINNER THAT WILL BE GOING OUT.

IT'S THE BOARD'S NIGHT OUT.

SO WE'LL BE EATING AT THE DAVENPORT PALM GRILL, I BELIEVE IS THE NAME OF THE RESTAURANT WE'LL BE EATING AT.

SO VERY EXCITED ABOUT THAT.

AND THEN JUST A REMINDER TO EVERYBODY THAT OUR NEXT BOARD MEETING, WHICH IS THE 28TH, WE HAVE A WORK SESSION ATTACHED TO THAT, AND THAT'S THE TEACHING AND LEARNING DEPARTMENT WILL BE REVIEWING THE WAIVER DAY PROCESS THAT WE'VE BEEN GOING THROUGH AND UPDATING YOU ON OUR PLCS.

SO THAT WAY SHELLEY AND HER TEAM WILL BE DOING THAT.

AND THEN I THINK OUR DECEMBER 12TH MEETING IS ANOTHER, WE ONLY HAVE ONE MEETING IN DECEMBER AND THAT WILL BE THE FIRST CIP PRESENTATIONS ON DECEMBER.

DECEMBER WILL BE A BUSY, A BUSY MONTH, A BUSY MEETING FOR US JUST SO YOU KNOW.

I THINK THAT'S BOARD ELECTIONS ALSO.

IT IS, YES.

SO THAT'LL BE A BUSY MEETING.

JUST SO YOU'RE FULL AWARE.

YEAH. YEAH, THAT'S GOOD TO KNOW.

IT WON'T BE 7:20.

OKAY. [LAUGHTER] WE'LL LET CITIZENS KNOW.

OKAY, I THINK WE'RE GOING TO ADJOURN THIS ONE AND GO INTO.

YEAH. KEVIN, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? 15.

15 MINUTES. OKAY.

[12. Executive Session]

GREAT. SO WE DO HAVE AN EXECUTIVE SESSION FOLLOWING THIS PARTICULAR MEETING.

IT IS, ACCORDING TO RCW 42.30.1101 (B) AND (C), IT IS REGARDING DISCUSSIONS OF SALE, OF PROPERTY SALE OR PURCHASE OF PROPERTY.

[01:20:08]

NO ACTION EXPECTED TO BE TAKEN.

IT IS INFORMATIONAL.

OKAY. ANYTHING ELSE? ALL RIGHT. I SHOW 7:20.

I'D LIKE TO ADJOURN THIS NOVEMBER 14, 2022 BATTLE GROUND SCHOOL BOARD MEETING.

DO YOU WANT A SHORT BREAK IN BETWEEN? OR YOU WANT TO GO RIGHT AT IT? JUST GO FOR IT. LET'S GO.

OKAY.

WE NOW ADJOURN THAT SECTION OF THE NOVEMBER 14, 2022 BATTLE GROUND SCHOOL BOARD MEETING.
