THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PARTS OF THE JOB, AND I AM HONORED TONIGHT TO BE ABLE TO SPEAK ABOUT ONE OF OUR EMPLOYEES WHO HAS DEMONSTRATED ALWAYS HER COMMITMENT TO BATTLE GROUND PUBLIC SCHOOLS, A COMMITMENT TO SERVE THE STUDENTS OF OUR DISTRICT, AND JUST A COMMITMENT TO GIVE EVERYTHING SHE HAS TO THE POSITION AND HER JOB.

THE WASHINGTON ASSOCIATION FOR CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION, A.C.T.E.

COUNSELING AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONAL AWARD RECOGNIZES SCHOOL COUNSELORS AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONALS WHO HAVE DEMONSTRATED A COMMITMENT TO CONNECTING STUDENTS WITH OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUCCESS, SHOWN INNOVATION IN CAREER EXPLORATION AND DEVELOPMENT, AND HAVE ADVOCATED FOR CTE AS A VIABLE OPTION FOR ALL STUDENTS.

KRIS NEAL HAS BEEN A WORK BASED LEARNING COORDINATOR FOR BATTLE GROUND PUBLIC SCHOOLS SINCE 2014.

PRIOR TO THIS POSITION, SHE WORKED AT SUMMIT VIEW HIGH SCHOOL AS A CAREER GUIDANCE TECHNICIAN, SUPPORTING STUDENTS AND STAFF AND AS A WORK BASED LEARNING COORDINATOR.

KRIS SPECIALIZES IN WORKING WITH LOCAL AND REGIONAL BUSINESSES THAT EMPLOY AND SUPPORT THE DISTRICT'S STUDENTS.

KRIS IS A POWERFUL FORCE IN THE WORKPLACE AND USES HER POSITIVE ATTITUDE AND TIRELESS ENERGY TO ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO WORK HARD AND SUCCEED IN THEIR ENDEAVORS.

AND BECAUSE OF THAT ROLE AND BECAUSE OF OUR COMMITMENT TO STUDENTS AND BECAUSE OF HER COMMITMENT TO ACTE, KRIS HAS BEEN AWARDED THE WASHINGTON A.C.T.E.

EXCELLENCE AWARD.

AND SO WITH THAT, WHAT I'D LIKE TO DO IS I'D LIKE TO INVITE OUR DIRECTOR OF CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION, MS. CINDY ARNOLD, WHO WORKS CLOSELY WITH KRIS TO SAY A FEW WORDS.

AND THEN WE'LL HAVE KRIS COME UP TO ACCEPT THIS WONDERFUL HONOR.

I'M GOING TO HAVE KRIS COME UP AND JUST STAND NEXT TO ME.

LAST YEAR AT THIS TIME, WE STOOD HERE AND KRIS RECEIVED THE WASSER AWARD, THE CAREER GUIDANCE OF THE YEAR AWARD WITHIN HER

ORGANIZATION. SO THAT PUT HER IN THE LARGER POOL FOR OUR STATE.

AND THAT'S THE WASHINGTON A.C.T.

COUNSELING AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONAL AWARDS.

SO IT'S A BIG DEAL.

SO HER ORGANIZATION RECOGNIZED HER LAST YEAR AND NOW OUR WHOLE STATE IS RECOGNIZING HER.

AND SO I CAN'T THINK OF ANYBODY MORE WORTHY TO RECEIVE THIS AWARD THAN KRIS.

SHE HAS OVER 200 WORK BASED LEARNING STUDENTS AND WORKS REALLY HARD TO CONNECT THOSE KIDS TO OUR BUSINESSES.

SHE COMES UP WITH IDEAS ALL THE TIME, LIKE DUAL CREDIT NIGHT AND APPRENTICESHIP SIGNING DAY POP FOR A PLAN.

SHE'S JUST VERY INNOVATIVE AND THINKS ABOUT WAYS THAT WE CAN CONNECT OUR KIDS TO OUR BUSINESSES AND THEIR FUTURE.

AND I THINK WHAT SETS KRIS APART IS THE RELATIONSHIPS THAT SHE HAS, THE RELATIONSHIPS THAT SHE HAS WITH OUR STUDENTS, CONNECTING THEM TO THEIR FUTURE AND THE RELATIONSHIPS THAT SHE HAS WITH OUR BUSINESSES BAR NONE.

I REALLY BELIEVE KRIS IS THE BEST IN THE STATE FOR CONNECTING OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT TO OUR BUSINESSES WHEN THEY HAVE QUESTIONS.

SHE HAS ANSWERS AND IF SHE DOESN'T HAVE THE ANSWERS, SHE BRINGS IN PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE ANSWERS.

AND SO IT'S MY HONOR TO ALSO PRESENT THE SWORD TO KRIS NEAL [APPLAUSE].

HI. I'M AUSTIN.

I'M THE ASB. AUSTIN CLARK, THE ASB PRESIDENT OF BATTLE GROUND HIGH SCHOOL.

AND I'M HERE TO KIND OF REPRESENT THE STUDENT VOICE AND ALSO OUR ASB CLASS.

SO JUST GOING TO KIND OF RUN THROUGH SOME OF THE THINGS THAT WE'RE WORKING ON AND THEN SOME QUESTIONS OR AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT FOR PEOPLE IN THIS ROOM, IN MY OPINION OR THE STUDENT OPINION.

BUT RIGHT NOW WE'RE JUST WORKING ON HOMECOMING.

WE HAVE A BUNCH OF DIFFERENT COMMITTEES FOR THAT.

JUNIORS ARE WORKING ON PROM, WHICH UNFORTUNATELY I'M NOT ALLOWED TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT.

OUR PAGEANT IS KIND OF GETTING STARTED.

THERE'S AN OPEN HOUSE WEDNESDAY FROM 5 TO 7, I BELIEVE, AND THAT'S JUST KIND OF PART OF BRINGING THE COMMUNITY BACK INTO THE SCHOOL.

I FEEL AND I KNOW A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE FEEL THAT DURING COVID WE FACED LIKE A BIG IMPACT, KIND OF LOSING OUR BALANCE BETWEEN COMMUNITY AND SCHOOL AND KIND OF BRINGING THOSE BACK TOGETHER, I FEEL IS REALLY IMPORTANT.

AND THEN TO KIND OF TIE INTO THAT COMMUNITY, WE'RE WORKING ON KIND OF REBUILDING OUR CULTURE AT BATTLE GROUND.

WE FEEL THAT WHEN COVID HAPPENED AND WE ALL WENT ONLINE AND THEN THERE WERE TWO GRADUATING CLASSES, ALMOST THREE, AND THEN WE JUST LOST A LOT OF WHAT WE HAD BEEN WORKING ON IN PRIOR YEARS.

SO WE'RE REALLY WORKING ON BRINGING BACK THAT CULTURE AND THAT SPIRIT AND REALLY JUST TRYING TO GET PEOPLE TO BE HAPPY TO COME TO SCHOOL AGAIN.

AND THEN THROUGH THAT WE'RE DOING FUN.

ASB STUFF LIKE ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL WE DID HASHTAG FIRST FIT, AND THAT'S JUST ONE EXAMPLE, BUT WE'RE JUST DOING A BUNCH OF DIFFERENT STUFF TO TRY TO GET PEOPLE EXCITED ABOUT COMING TO SCHOOL AGAIN.

WE'RE WELL, PERSONALLY, I'M WORKING TOWARDS STUDENT BODY MEETINGS.

IT'S WHERE ON A THURSDAY BASICALLY THE ASB PRESIDENT AND THE VICE PRESIDENT AND THEN THE SECRETARY, WE WOULD SHOW UP AND THEN TWO REPRESENTATIVES FROM EACH CLASS, EACH ADVISORY CLASS WOULD SHOW UP IN THE LIBRARY AND WE WOULD RUN THROUGH A MEETING AND BE ABLE TO GET ANY QUESTIONS, COMMENTS, CONCERNS

ABOUT THINGS GOING ON IN SCHOOL.

AND WE HAVEN'T HAD ONE SINCE MY FRESHMAN YEAR BEFORE COVID, AND I'M REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO GETTING THAT BACK ON TRACK, NOT ONLY SO I CAN DO MY BEST, BUT ALSO SO I CAN ADVOCATE FOR STUDENTS WHEN I COME BACK HERE IN THE FUTURE.

AND THEN THERE'S A COUPLE OF OTHER THINGS WHAT WAS I GOING TO SAY.

OH, LIKE BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN I WAS ACTUALLY THINKING ABOUT THIS AND THERE'S ANYONE THAT HAS ANY SORT OF SUGGESTIONS THAT WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

BUT I FEEL LIKE THERE'S SOME STUDENTS.

I FEEL LIKE WE ALL CAN AGREE THE TYPE OF PERSON THAT WOULD GO TO A STUDENT BODY MEETING AND THE TYPE OF PERSON THAT WOULDN'T, THEY'D PROBABLY COMPLAIN ABOUT TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.

AND SO REACHING OUT TO THE ENTIRETY OF THE SCHOOL IS PROBABLY ONE OF MY BIGGEST PERSONAL AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE IT'S MY RESPONSIBILITY AND THE ASB CLASSES, RESPONSIBILITY TO KIND OF BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN THE STUDENTS AND ALL THE ADMIN AND THEN THE SCHOOL BOARD.

SO THAT'S ANOTHER THING THAT I AM WORKING ON AND THE ASB CLASS IS WORKING ON.

AND THEN I JUST HAD A COUPLE QUESTIONS.

SO GRADE WAITING, I KNOW THAT WAS SOMETHING THAT SCOTT HAS BEEN WORKING ON AND I WAS JUST KIND OF WONDERING WHAT DIRECTION THAT'S GOING.

I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS MY TURN TO ASK QUESTIONS OR YOU CAN.

I THINK WE'VE JUST STARTED THE PROCESS, RIGHT? YEAH. I MEAN, I CAN TALK TO YOU ABOUT THAT A LITTLE BIT, BUT I HAD A MEETING WITH MR. DRAKE A FEW WEEKS AGO AND WE WERE JUST KIND OF TALKING ABOUT LIKE THE WORDING OF THE POLICY THAT SCHOOLS IN THE AREA HAVE BEEN USING FOR WEIGHTED GRADES.

BECAUSE I WAS SAYING LIKE WEIGHTED GRADES ONLY BENEFIT PEOPLE BECAUSE I WASN'T TRYING TO CHANGE WEIGHTED GRADES FOR LIKE THE ENTIRETY OF OUR GRADING SYSTEM, ONLY FOR OUR CLASS RANK TO KIND OF JUST REWARD THOSE WHO HAVE TAKEN RIGOROUS CLASSES AND, YOU KNOW, MAKE IT SO THAT THE BALANCE OF OUR CLASS RANKINGS ARE CORRECT.

SO YEAH, SO IN A FEW SCHOOLS AROUND US HAVE THAT SYSTEM IN PLACE ALREADY.

SO MR. DRAKE WAS KIND OF LOOKING AT THE WORDING THAT THEY USE FOR THEIR POLICIES AND WAS TALKING TO THE COUNSELORS IN OUR DISTRICT.

I'M NOT REALLY SURE WHERE THAT IS AS OF RIGHT NOW, BUT WE ARE KIND OF STARTING TO GET THE WHEELS ROLLING AND SEEING HOW EVERYONE FEELS ABOUT THAT, AT THAT AT THIS SPECIFIC MOMENT.

AND I CAN, YOU KNOW, SPEAK ON THAT MORE IN THE FUTURE, BUT IT'S DEFINITELY SOMETHING THAT I'M REALLY PASSIONATE ABOUT AND I REALLY HOPE THAT.

IT'S BEEN A FEW WEEKS AND WHERE WE'RE AT IN THE PROCESS IS I'M GOING TO MEET WITH THE PRAIRIE COUNSELORS ON THURSDAY OF THIS WEEK AND GET THEIR THOUGHTS.

AND THEN I'M GOING TO MEET WITH THE BATTLE GROUND COUNSELORS.

I'M ALSO GOING TO REACH OUT TO EVERGREEN SCHOOL DISTRICT.

THEY'RE ONE OF THE LARGEST SCHOOL DISTRICTS WHO DO WEIGHTED GRADES.

AND THIS IS NOT FOR GPA, THIS IS NOT FOR BECAUSE THAT'S A STATE LAW.

SO WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING WITH THAT.

WHAT THE EVERGREEN SCHOOL DISTRICT DOES IS THEY DO WAIT GRADES FOR CLASS, RANK LIKE SAW WAS MENTIONING.

AND SO IT WOULD BE ALLOW THOSE STUDENTS WHO CHALLENGE THEMSELVES TAKING AP COURSES.

IF THEY GET A B-MINUS IN AN AP COURSE, IT OBVIOUSLY HAS A NEGATIVE IMPACT ON THEIR CLASS RANK.

SO WHAT I MENTIONED TO SORA IS I DON'T HAVE ANY PRECONCEIVED FEELINGS ONE WAY OR THE OTHER.

SO WE'RE JUST IN THE DATA GATHERING STAGE.

AND AT SOME POINT, AFTER TALKING TO THE COUNSELORS AT BOTH SCHOOLS AND MAYBE CHECKING IN WITH THE TEACHERS AS WELL, WE WILL BRING SOMETHING FORWARD TO THIS GROUP OR MAKE A DECISION THAT THE NEGATIVES OUTWEIGH THE POSITIVES.

SO WE'RE JUST KIND OF GOING INTO IT WITH AN OPEN MIND.

SO LIKE THE THING I REALLY FEEL ABOUT THIS IS THAT IT JUST REALLY PROMOTES AP PARTICIPATION IN ALL OF OUR SCHOOLS BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, AP CLASSES ARE JUST REALISTICALLY HARDER TO GET AN A IN AND IT KIND OF DRIVES STUDENTS AWAY FROM TAKING THEM BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, YOUR GPA IS IMPORTANT.

AND WHILE OBVIOUSLY THIS SHIFT WOULDN'T CHANGE THE GPA IN GENERAL, LIKE HAVING A 3.9 GPA WILL BRING YOU FROM BEING VALEDICTORIAN TO NOT AND BEING PRETTY LOW IN YOUR CLASS RANK.

SO YEAH, JUST HAVING AP CLASSES BE WORTH MORE THAN A 4.0 ON THIS SCALE JUST, YOU KNOW, MAKES THE POSITIVES OUTWEIGH THE NEGATIVES FOR TAKING AN AP CLASS AND COULD REALLY PROMOTE OUR SYSTEMS BECAUSE I KNOW AT MY SCHOOL EVEN SOME OF OUR AP CLASSES JUST DIDN'T HAPPEN THIS YEAR BECAUSE OF LOW PARTICIPATION RATES. AND I FEEL THAT WITH, YOU KNOW, THIS LITTLE PUSH IN THAT DIRECTION, WE CAN REALLY CHANGE THINGS A LITTLE BIT.

BUT LAST YEAR I HAD TO TAKE AN AP LITERATURE CLASS INSTEAD AND THEN THIS YEAR I'M TAKING AP LANGUAGE, BUT IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE

SWITCHED. AND SO NOW IT FEELS LIKE WE'RE LAST YEAR I HAD TO JUMP AHEAD A TON AND IT STRESSED ME OUT AND IT PROBABLY WASN'T AS GOOD FOR ME.

AND THEN THIS YEAR IT FEELS LIKE I'M GOING SLOW AND IT'S PROBABLY SOUNDS LIKE A CHAMPAGNE PROBLEM, LIKE COMPLAINING ABOUT HOW HARD AN AP CLASS IS.

BUT I JUST I AGREE WITH IT AND I FEEL LIKE WORKING ON GETTING PARTICIPATION WOULD HELP THAT PROBLEM BECAUSE I KNOW A LOT OF OTHER STUDENTS ARE ALSO FACING THAT PROBLEM.

AND THEN ALSO I HAD LIKE A REALLY GOOD CONNECTION TO ME ASKING IF THERE WERE ANY QUESTIONS, BUT I FORGOT IT.

SO I'M JUST GOING TO SAY, ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS? THANK YOU. I'M NOT SURE IF IT'S A QUESTION, BUT FOR BOTH OF YOU AND MAYBE MR. DRAKE AS WELL, I ENCOURAGE YOU TO INCLUDE IN YOUR RESEARCH COLLEGE ADMISSIONS DIRECTORS.

AND SO MY SON HAPPENED TO BE A COLLEGE ADMISSIONS DIRECTOR FOR THREE DIFFERENT UNIVERSITIES.

AND I KNOW WE HAD THIS CONVERSATION ABOUT WEIGHTED GRADES AND HOW THEY LOOK AT THOSE.

SO I THINK THAT WOULD BE A GREAT VIEW TO INCLUDE IN THERE.

YOU KNOW, IS, IS HOW DO THOSE PEOPLE WHO LOOK AT THE APPLICATIONS ACTUALLY WHAT DO THEY LOOK AT AND WHAT DO THEY GIVE CREDENCE TO? AND I KNOW THE NUMBER OF AP CLASSES OFTENTIMES CAME UP IN THAT AS AN EXAMPLE.

YEAH. YEAH. AND SOMETHING TO NOTE IS THAT WE HAVE SO MANY VALEDICTORIANS EVERY YEAR AND WHILE, YOU KNOW, THE IDEA OF RANKING CHILDREN IS KIND OF JUST LIKE A DIFFERENT TOPIC ALTOGETHER, IT JUST THE FACT THAT WE HAD MULTIPLE VALEDICTORIANS, BUT, YOU KNOW, ONE OF THEM DID TAKE THE MOST AP CLASSES, THE MOST RIGOROUS CLASSES, BUT WAS JUST GROUPED TOGETHER WITH OTHER STUDENTS WHO MIGHT HAVE TAKEN LESS RIGOROUS CLASSES IS, YOU KNOW, EVERYONE SHOULD BE CELEBRATED FOR WHAT ACCOMPLISHMENTS THEY DID ACHIEVE.

BUT KIND OF MAKING IT MORE OF A FAIR PROCESS IN AN ALREADY DIFFICULT GAME IS SOMETHING THAT IS REALLY IMPORTANT.

SO YEAH. ANYWAYS CONTINUE ON.

AND TO GET SOME OF THESE THINGS DONE, THE FIRST HALF EVALUATION, FOR EXAMPLE, OF THE SUPERINTENDENT TO EVEN GET THAT ON THE CALENDAR, WE'D HAVE TO BE DOING IT LIKE IN NOVEMBER OR END OF OCTOBER.

WELL, THAT'S TWO YEARS OR TWO MONTHS INTO THE SCHOOL DISTRICT.

IT'S HARD TO GIVE A FIRST HALF REPORT.

SO WE'VE LOOKED AT SOME OF THESE OR I'VE LOOKED AT SOME OF THESE AND WE'VE TALKED ABOUT THIS.

WE'RE SUGGESTING THAT WE TAKE A LOOK AT THOSE THINGS THAT HAVE DEADLINES BASED ON THE FIRST OF THE CALENDAR YEAR AND CHANGE THEM TO BE THE SCHOOL YEAR.

SO A FIRST HALF REPORT FROM OUR SUPERINTENDENT WOULD BE DUE BY THE SEMESTER, THE FIRST SEMESTER INSTEAD OF THE CALENDAR YEAR.

AS YOU CAN SEE THERE ON THIS ONE, IT SAYS THAT IT'S DUE BY DECEMBER 31ST.

BUT THAT'D BE THE DECEMBER 12TH MEETING AT THE LATEST.

MARK SAID, WE DON'T HAVE A MEETING AT THE END OF THE MONTH.

RIGHT. SO THEN HE GOES TO DECEMBER 12TH.

RIGHT. WHICH THEN IS PROBLEMATIC AND YOU HAVE TO HAVE A COUPLE OF A MONTH JUST TO PREPARE FOR THAT.

AND SO YOU'RE REALLY BASING IT ON THE DATE YOU'RE PROPOSING.

WHICH MAKES MORE SENSE.

SO ANYWAY, I'D LIKE TO HAVE US CONSIDER TAKING A LOOK AT THOSE DATES THAT WE'VE IMPOSED UPON OURSELVES OR PREVIOUS BOARDS HAVE IMPOSED UPON THE CURRENT BOARD AND CHANGE THEM TO COINCIDE WITH THE SCHOOL YEAR MORE THAN THE CALENDAR YEAR.

SO ANOTHER ONE WOULD BE THERE'S A JUNE 1ST DATE WHICH IS RIGHT SMACK IN THE MIDDLE OF ALL THE GRADUATIONS.

WE DON'T EVEN REALLY HAVE THE END OF THE YEAR GRADUATION REPORTS IN THAT YET, YOU KNOW, THINGS LIKE THAT.

WE'RE SUGGESTING PUSHING THAT TO JULY 1ST, FOR EXAMPLE, WHICH IS WHEN WE'RE ACTUALLY DOING IT ANYWAY.

WE'VE WE HAVEN'T HIT THESE DEADLINES FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS BECAUSE OF THE INCONVENIENCE.

SO ANYWAY, TAKE A LOOK AT THOSE.

ONE IS THE STRATEGIC PLAN ITSELF, ONE IS THE SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLANS.

ONE IS OUR OWN PERSONAL BOARD'S GOALS AND OUR OWN SELF EVALUATION.

AS A BOARD, IT FEELS LIKE MANY OF THOSE COULD BE CONSOLIDATED AROUND OUR CURRENT STRATEGIC PLAN, AND INSTEAD OF PRODUCING FOUR DIFFERENT SETS OF GOALS, REALLY CONSOLIDATED AROUND OUR STRATEGIC PLAN AND OUR COHERENCE WORK AND THINGS LIKE THAT.

SO IF YOU'RE OPEN TO SOME OF THOSE CHANGES, WE'D LIKE TO DISCUSS SOME OF THE WORDING.

SO IT ALSO ENDURES FOR FUTURE BOARDS, BUT WE THINK IT'LL BE A LOT MORE FRIENDLY.

I TOTALLY AGREE. I THINK IT'S BEEN CUMBERSOME COMING ON AS A BOARD MEMBER AND TRYING TO FIGURE OUT, YOU KNOW, IT SEEMS LIKE THOSE ALL THOSE DIFFERENT GOALS ARE KIND OF DISJOINTED. YEAH.

AND EVEN WITH THE BOARD GOALS WHICH WE HAVEN'T FINISHED YET, WE EVEN MOVED IN THAT DIRECTION WITH THE BOARD GOALS TO ALIGN THEM SO THAT WHEN YOU LOOK AT THEM, YOU SEE A STREAM RUNNING THROUGH THAT IS SIMILAR IN ALL OF THEM.

YEAH, THAT'S GOOD.

YEAH. AND I THINK, FOR EXAMPLE, OUR SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLANS ACTUALLY CONTAIN SOME OF THE MOST USEFUL DATA BECAUSE IT'S REALLY LOCAL COMPARED TO, SAY, THE STATE TEST DATA OR THINGS LIKE THAT.

SO I DIDN'T REALLY BELONG.

I DIDN'T DRIVE.

I WAS PATHOLOGICALLY SHY.

I SPOKE A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE AND I WAS FROM A DIFFERENT CULTURE.

SO IT WAS SET UP TO BE A BAD YEAR UNTIL MR. HAINES CAME ALONG AND HE LET ME BE HIS LAB ASSISTANT.

AND I GOT TO SET UP CHEMISTRY LAB FOR HIS OTHER STUDENTS, AND I GOT TO WORK AS HIS GRADER.

AND HE HOOKED ME UP TO OTHER STUDENTS THAT NEEDED SOME HELP, ONE ON ONE TUTORING THAT MITIGATED MY SOCIAL AWKWARDNESS AND GAVE ME ENOUGH SENSE OF BELONGING THAT I WAS ABLE TO FINISH THE SCHOOL WITHOUT FALLING INTO THE HOLES.

EVERYBODY NEEDS TO BELONG.

BELONGING IS A FOUNDATION ON WHICH WE BUILD OUR LIVES, JUST LIKE NUTRITION THAT SARAH TALKED ABOUT.

AND THOSE ARE WAGES THAT OUTLINE A THREE YEAR PLAN.

SO AS I'VE MENTIONED BEFORE, PRC HAS POSITION REVIEW.

SO EVERY YEAR WE DO HAVE AN OBLIGATION TO MEET WITH THE PSC AND WE LOOK AT DIFFERENT CLASSIFICATIONS AND WE COMPARE THOSE POSITIONS IN THAT CLASSIFICATION WITH OTHER POSITIONS LOCALLY AND AROUND THE STATE.

AND FROM THAT WORK, WE HAD LOOKED AT CUSTODIAL, WE LOOKED AT CAMPUS SECURITY OPERATIONS, GROUNDS, WAREHOUSE AND CAMPUS SECURITY.

AND FROM THE WORK THAT WE DID TOGETHER IN THAT IN THAT COMMITTEE, WE WERE WE'RE PROPOSING A COUPLE OF CHANGES RELATED TO CUSTODIAL BY INTRODUCING DIFFERENT LEVELS FOR CUSTODIANS, IN ADDITION TO LOOKING AT A BUMP UP FOR CAMPUS SECURITY.

AND THEN THE LAST AREA REALLY IS JUST TO NOTE THAT WE FELT THAT SKILLED TRADES CRAFTSMEN WE ALREADY STAFF GET ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION IF THEY HAVE THAT LICENSURE, WE ARE ADDING HVAC, THE HVAC TECHNICIAN TO THAT LICENSURE COMPENSATION.

SO THOSE ARE THE MAIN DOCUMENTS.

WE DO FEEL THAT THIS THIS CONTRACT IS IT IS A FAIR CONTRACT.

IT IS ONE THAT WE WORKED VERY HARD WITH THE ASSOCIATION.

I RECOMMEND THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPROVE THE ATTACHED REVISIONS TO THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN PUBLIC SCHOOL EMPLOYEES OF BATTLE GROUND AND BATTLE GROUND PUBLIC SCHOOLS NUMBER 119 AND APPROVE THE PROPOSED SALARY SCHEDULE.

THIS APPROVAL IS CONTINGENT ON THE PUBLIC SCHOOL EMPLOYEES PSC RATIFICATION ON TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2022.

IT'S BEEN MOVED TO APPROVE THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT AFTER CONTINGENT ON THE VOTE THAT WILL BE TAKING PLACE SOON.
