STAFF, THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE TONIGHT TO PROVIDE THE BOARD WITH INFORMATION AS WE MAKE OUR DECISIONS.

I'VE GOT A CUTE GROUP OF SECOND GRADERS FROM PLEASANT VALLEY THAT ARE WORKING ON THEIR SCRIPT, SO I MET WITH THEM TODAY.

WE ALSO HAVE LINED UP THE DEBATE TEAM FROM PRAIRIE HIGH SCHOOL TO COME AND TALK AND CELEBRATE THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND THEY WERE JUST UNABLE TO MAKE IT TO THIS MEETING.

WE'VE GOT THE LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE, AUDIT COMMITTEE, BATTLEGROUND EDUCATION FOUNDATION, WIAA, WASHINGTON STATE SCHOOL DIRECTORS ASSOCIATIONS AND TOURS.

I BELIEVE WE'VE HAD SOME REPORTS ON OUR TOURS COMING UP, SO WE'LL OPEN WITH DIRECTOR HENRIKSON AND THE LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE.

AND IF WE CAN BRING UP THE POWERPOINT, THAT WILL BE HELPFUL.

SO I WANT TO TALK REAL QUICK ABOUT HOUSE BILL 1664.

THESE ARE THREE BILLS THAT ESSENTIALLY WILL AFFECT BATTLEGROUND SCHOOL DISTRICT.

1664 INCREASES, THE MINIMUM ALLOCATION OF NURSES, SOCIAL WORKERS, PSYCHOLOGISTS, COUNSELORS, AND THE PROTOTYPE SCHOOL FUNDING MODEL OVER THE NEXT THREE YEARS.

AND WHAT THAT MEANS TO BATTLEGROUND IS THAT WE HAVE TEN POSITIONS THAT USED TO BE LEVY FUNDED THAT NOW WILL BE STATE FUNDED, TAKING A LITTLE PRESSURE OFF THE LEVY FUNDS.

THEY GET THAT RIGHT. SO ANY COMMENTS ON THAT? NO, THAT'S GREAT. IT PHASES IN OVER THE NEXT THREE YEARS.

BUT AFTER THAT, IT'S PERMANENT.

IT'S PERMANENT. BASICALLY, THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS HAVE SAID NURSES AND PSYCHOLOGISTS ARE A REGULAR PART OF OUR DEAL, MUCH MORE THAN ONE FOR A WHOLE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE STATES COME THROUGH WITH THAT. I THINK WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE, WE COULD BE LOOKING AT 20 TOTAL POSITIONS AS IT GETS PHASED IN OVER THE NEXT THREE YEARS.

WHAT KIND OF BENEFIT IS THAT FOR THE LEVY AND HOW MUCH IS THAT PULL OFF OF THAT? YOU COULD EQUATE IT TO APPROXIMATELY $2 MILLION, ABOUT $100,000 FOR EACH POSITION WHEN YOU FACTOR IN BENEFITS.

SO EACH POSITION, TEN POSITIONS IS $1,000,000.

SO 20 POSITIONS, $2 MILLION.

THAT'S SIGNIFICANT.

RIGHT.

GOOD, THE NEXT ONE FUNDING STAFF FOR THAT REFLECTS CURRENT REALITY.

THIS IS ENROLLMENT STABILIZATION, WHICH IS OVER ABOUT THREE YEARS.

THERE'S A CALCULATE AND CALCULATE ENRICHMENT LEVY LIMITS.

IT ALSO CALCULATES THE LOCAL EFFORT ASSISTANCE IN THE 2022 AND 2023 CALENDAR YEARS.

I'M KIND OF MUDDY ON HOW THIS AFFECTS THE SCHOOL DISTRICT.

GET SOME HELP ON THAT FROM ANYBODY WHO WANTS TO SHARE.

BUT SO FOR US ENROLLMENT STABILIZATION, IF YOU USE THE FORMULA THAT WAS FUNDED, MICHELLE COULD PROBABLY TALK A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT IT IN TERMS OF SPECIFICS, BUT FOR US, IT'S ABOUT A $6 MILLION GAIN FOR US IN TERMS OF ENROLLMENT STABILIZATION.

SO VERY, VERY PLEASED WITH THAT.

YEAH, THEY'LL TAKE OUR THEY'LL TAKE OUR CURRENT ENROLLMENT AND THEY'LL COMPARE IT TO OUR 1920 ENROLLMENT.

AND THE VARIANCE BETWEEN THOSE TWO NUMBERS, THEY'LL CUT THAT IN HALF AND THEN THEY'LL FUND THAT NUMBER OF STUDENTS.

SO THAT WILL BE VERY HELPFUL FOR THE DISTRICT AS WE CONTINUE THROUGH THIS, YOU KNOW, THE LOWER ENROLLMENT THAT WE'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING THROUGH THE PANDEMIC.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND THAT THE LEGISLATURE LEGISLATURE HAS MADE IT CLEAR THAT THIS IS THE LAST YEAR THAT THEY WILL OFFER ENROLLMENT STABILIZATION.

SO IT'S MONEY THAT WE CAN'T COUNT ON IN THE FUTURE, AND THEREFORE, WE HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WITH HOW WE ALLOCATE THOSE FUNDINGS LONG TERM.

SO IN OTHER WORDS, IT'S GIVING US TIME TO ADJUST TO OUR ENROLLMENT CHANGES.

YES, LAST YEAR WE RECEIVED APPROXIMATELY $12 MILLION IN ENROLLMENT STABILIZATION.

THIS YEAR, WE'RE GETTING APPROXIMATELY HALF OF IT.

SO, YES, BUT ANY LONG TERM COMMITMENTS, OBVIOUSLY, YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL ON BECAUSE NEXT YEAR YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO FUND THOSE USING ENROLLMENT STABILIZATION.

IT WILL BE LOSS OF OVERALL REVENUE FOR THE DISTRICT.

AND I KNOW ONE OF OUR GOALS IS TO TRY TO PUT THIS IN CITIZEN FRIENDLY LANGUAGE INSTEAD OF LEGISLATIVE ESE THE WAY IT WAS KIND OF EXPLAINED TO ME.

FEEL FREE TO DOUBLE CHECK WITH ME ON THIS.

BUT IT WAS A RECOGNITION THAT WHEN THE PANDEMIC HIT AND MOST SCHOOL DISTRICTS LOST SOMEWHERE BETWEEN FIVE AND 10% OF THEIR ENROLLMENT, THAT THE BUILDING, AS MR. [INAUDIBLE] WILL TELL US, THE BUILDINGS STILL HAVE TO BE HEATED AND THE LIGHTS STILL HAVE TO BE TURNED ON.

AND THE COST DIDN'T GO AWAY SIMPLY BECAUSE THOSE STUDENTS CHOSE OTHER EDUCATIONAL OPTIONS AT THE MOMENT. AND THANKFULLY, IF I REMEMBER RIGHT LAST SPRING.

OUR DISTRICT DID SOME ADJUSTMENTS IN OUR STAFFING TO TRY TO PREDICT THAT, AND WE'LL DO IT AGAIN THIS SPRING.

AND IT'S IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT WE DID SEE A GAIN LAST YEAR OF STUDENTS FROM THE PREVIOUS YEAR. WE SAW A GAIN OF APPROXIMATELY 200 STUDENTS, GIVE OR TAKE A LITTLE BIT.

AND WE HOPE THAT WITH THE MASK MANDATE ENDING WITH THINGS RETURNING TO NORMAL, THAT WE WOULD SEE ANOTHER INCREASE GOING INTO NEXT YEAR.

SO THE ALLOCATION OF ENROLLMENT STABILIZATION MAY NOT BE NEEDED.

WE'LL JUST HAVE TO SEE.

THIS IS HOUSE BILL 1878.

THIS EXPANDS THE COMMUNITY ELIGIBILITY PROVISION, MANDATORY PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS TO ALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS, AND IDENTIFIED STUDENT PERCENTAGES OF 40% OR LOWER.

SO THEY'VE LOWERED THE THRESHOLD THERE.

IT DOESN'T QUITE AFFECT US.

THIS AFFECTS OUR SCHOOL LUNCHES AND PROGRAMS LIKE THAT.

AND SO WE'RE I THINK YOU MENTIONED MICHELLE, WE'RE AT LIKE 31.6 IS WHERE OUR LEVEL IS.

SO THIS DOESN'T REALLY AFFECT US AT THIS POINT, BUT IT'S A BENEFIT FOR OTHER SCHOOLS AS THEY'VE LOWERED THE THRESHOLD.

SO NEXT SLIDE, I THINK MARK'S GOING TO COVER THIS ONE.

YEAH, SURE. SO THAT WAS A WRAP UP.

WSDA IS OUR PRIMARY LEGISLATIVE LOBBYING GROUP, IF YOU WANT TO, WE SET OUR PRIORITIES AND PASS THEM ON TO THEN TRY TO GET AS MANY SCHOOL DISTRICTS ACROSS THE STATE TO PARTICIPATE IN THOSE PRIORITIES AS WE SEND THEM ON.

AND THE GROUP THAT HELPS US WITH THAT HAS ALREADY STARTED ON THE NEXT YEAR'S LEGISLATIVE SESSION. AND THAT MEANS SCHOOL DISTRICTS THAT SAW WHAT HAPPENED THIS YEAR AND HAVE THINGS THAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO HAVE PRIORITIZED OR ADDED FOR NEXT YEAR, WHICH IS THE LONGER SESSION THAT THEY TEND TO COMMIT MORE BUDGETARY ITEMS AND THINGS TO.

THIS IS THE TIME TO DO THAT.

SO THE WINDOW BETWEEN NOW AND ABOUT MID-MAY IS WHEN SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND SCHOOL DIRECTORS CAN PROPOSE WHAT OUR LEGISLATIVE REQUESTS FOR THE NEXT TIME AROUND.

WE VOTE ON THOSE PRIORITIES IN AUGUST AND THEN THEY GET READY TO ROLL THOSE AFTER THAT.

SO PROBABLY MORE TO COME ON FIGURING OUT THOSE PRIORITIES AND POSITIONS.

RIGHT? RIGHT. BUT IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING YOU SAY, DEFINITELY THIS IS SOMETHING I NEED HELP FROM THE LEGISLATURE. IT'S UP TO US TO PROPOSE THAT.

RIGHT. MAYBE I CAN GIVE AN EXAMPLE.

THE LAST ONE THAT I KNOW OF THAT WE SIGNED ON TO, WE WERE A CO-SPONSOR WITH GREEN MOUNTAIN FOR AN ISSUE THAT REALLY THE PROTOTYPICAL SCHOOL MODEL FOR A SCHOOL THE SIZE OF GREEN MOUNTAIN JUST DOESN'T WORK VERY WELL.

I MEAN, WE SAW THAT WITH THE NURSES AND COUNSELORS AND EVEN WITH THE ADDITION OF NURSES AND COUNSELORS, GREEN MOUNTAIN MIGHT NOT QUALIFY FOR ANYBODY.

RIGHT. OR A 0.1 OF A NURSE OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

AND SO AND THE REASON WE GOT INVOLVED IS BECAUSE MANY STUDENTS, WHEN THEY GET TO THEIR HIGH SCHOOL YEARS FROM GREEN MOUNTAIN, COME TO BATTLEGROUND TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE MORE OFFERINGS AT THE LARGER HIGH SCHOOLS.

AND IT WAS JUST A RECOGNITION OF ASKING THE LEGISLATURE, WHEN YOU HAVE DISTRICTS THAT SMALL, CAN WE LOOK AT A SPECIAL FUNDING FORMULA FOR THOSE KIND OF DISTRICTS? AND IT DIDN'T GO ANYWHERE, BUT IT'S STILL A NEED THAT'S OUT THERE AND IT'S STILL ON THE AGENDA AS WE GO ON.

AND I BELIEVE I'M CORRECT IN THINKING THAT THOSE PRIORITIES ARE ON THE WEBSITE AND WE CAN GO AHEAD AND START. I MEAN, THERE'S A LOT THERE TO LOOK AT AND A LOT TO STUDY.

SO EVEN THOUGH THE WINDOW DOESN'T OPEN YET FOR GIVING INPUT, I THINK WE CAN STILL GO ON THERE AND START.

ABSOLUTELY. AND ACTUALLY, ANOTHER THING, IF YOU'RE WILLING TO PUT IN THE TIME TO LOOK AT THAT, THAT'S GREAT. THERE'S A PERIOD RIGHT AFTER ANY NEW THINGS COME IN THAT THEY CALL CONSOLIDATION. SO I LEARNED THIS FROM BEING ON THE LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEE, AND THERE ACTUALLY IS AN ATTEMPT BECAUSE THERE'S LIKE 137 POSITIONS THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE JUGGLED AND MANY OF THEM OVERLAP OR SAY THE SAME THING IN A DIFFERENT WAY.

OR IF A NEW POSITION COMES IN, MAYBE IT IS JUST SAYING SOMETHING THAT SOMEBODY ELSE HAS ALREADY SAID. SO IF YOU SEE THOSE AND SAY, BOY, THESE THREE THINGS ARE REALLY SAYING THE SAME THING, YOU CAN MAKE A REQUEST TO HAVE THOSE CONSOLIDATED AND REWORD IT.

AND THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS, THAT KIND OF BETWEEN MAY AND WHEN THEY BRING THE FINAL LIST UP.

YEAH, I THINK WHAT YOU JUST SAID COVERED THAT NEXT SLIDE AS WELL.

BUT WHAT I REALLY WANTED TO KIND OF BRING UP IS A COUPLE OF BOARD REPORTS FROM THE STATE LEVEL, A COUPLE OF ACTIONS, ITEMS THAT THEY HAD.

I THINK WE DISCUSSED AT ONE POINT WHERE THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT MOVING THE GYMNASTICS SEASON AND THAT FAILED AT THAT LEVEL.

SO GYMNASTICS WILL STAY WHERE IT'S AT AT THIS POINT.

AND THEN THE OTHER ONE THAT I KIND OF FELT LIKE WE SHOULD BRING UP WAS THE REQUEST THAT ALLOCATIONS FOR STATE TOURNAMENTS CANNOT BE MADE AFTER 50% OF THAT SEASON FOR THAT ALLOCATION YEAR IS PASSED.

SO WHAT YOU DON'T WANT IS WHEN YOU START SEEING WHERE THE CHIPS ARE, FALLING ALLOCATIONS CAN BE ADJUSTED AT THAT POINT, RIGHT? WE DON'T WANT THAT. SO THAT PASS TO NOT ALLOW THAT AFTER 50%.

SO I THINK THAT'S KIND OF IMPORTANT.

AND THEN AT THE DISTRICT FOUR LEVEL, WE HAVE SEVEN AMENDMENTS ON THE ON THE DOCKET TO BE VOTED AND PASSED OR FAILED.

JUST BE VOTED ON THAT VOTES AT THE LAST WEEK OF APRIL, EARLY MAY.

BUT DISTRICT FOUR WENT AHEAD AND TOOK THEIR VOTES ON THEIR POSITIONS.

AND WHERE WE STAND ON THOSE AND A COUPLE OF THE HIGH NOTE ONES THAT I WANTED TO BRING UP WAS THAT WHEN WE HAD TALKED ABOUT PREVIOUSLY ABOUT ADDING CHESS AS A COMMUNICATIONS AND ARTS LEADERSHIP ACTIVITY UNDER WIAA JURISDICTION AND THAT PASSED AT THE DISTRICT FOUR LEVEL. SO THAT'S GOING TO BE THE DISTRICT FOUR POSITION.

OF THAT AND JUST TO BACK UP A LITTLE BIT, THERE'S 51 TOTAL VOTES IN THE STATE.

WE GET SEVEN AS A DISTRICT.

SO OUR SEVEN VOTES WILL VOTE IN FAVOR OF THAT.

AND AGAIN, ANOTHER ONE IS TO ALLOW STUDENTS TO RETAIN A FULL NUMBER OF PRACTICES PREVIOUSLY COMPLETED UPON RETURN FROM AN EXTENDED ABSENCE.

AND I THINK THAT THAT STEMMED FROM THE COVID DAYS WHERE WE HAD LONG PERIODS WHERE AND THEN HAVING TO THE CURRENT RULE IS IF YOU MISS MORE THAN FOUR PRACTICES, YOU HAD TO GO BACK AND RESET.

SO THIS WILL ALLOW US TO NOT HAVE TO DO THAT AND THAT PASSED AS WELL.

ANOTHER ONE THAT I THINK IS ALSO A POSITIVE THAT WE SHOULD BRING UP IS AND THIS IS KIND OF A LONG ONE, BUT IT SAYS ALLOW A STUDENT TO BE PLACED ON ACADEMIC PROBATION AT THE START OF FALL SPORTS SEASON IF THEY FAILED TO MEET GRADE REQUIREMENTS IN THE SECOND SEMESTER OR THIRD TRIMESTER OF THE PREVIOUS SCHOOL YEAR, AND CURRENTLY IT'S ACADEMIC INELIGIBLE. SO TO CHANGE THAT, TO BE JUST ON PROBATION ALLOWS THEM TO ACTUALLY PLAY AT THE EARLY START OF THAT BASED ON THE PREVIOUS YEAR'S GRADES.

SO THAT'S THAT PASSED AS WELL TO DISTRICT FOUR LEVEL.

SO MORE TO COME AS TO WHAT THE FINAL OUTCOME OF THESE ARE AFTER THE MAY VOTE.

AND IT'S AN AMAZING PROGRAM THAT STARTED IN BATTLEGROUND, BUT APPARENTLY NOW IT'S A NATIONAL CONTEST.

WE'RE WORKING WITH FLO ANALYTICS AND THEY'LL BE PRESENTING SOME IDEAS AROUND REDISTRICTING EVERY TEN YEARS PER THE CENSUS.

WE HAVE TO BALANCE OUT THE FIVE DIRECTOR DISTRICTS.

IT'S IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH STUDENT ATTENDANCE AREAS.

IT DOESN'T AFFECT STUDENTS AT ALL.

IT JUST HAS TO DO WITH THE BOUNDARIES FOR THE DISTRICTS THAT YOU NOW REPRESENT WITH CHANGE SO THAT WE CAN BALANCE THE POPULATION IN EACH OF THOSE DISTRICTS.

AND SOME DISTRICTS, OBVIOUSLY THOSE TOWARDS THE SOUTH GROW FASTER THAN THOSE IN THE NORTH AND WE ARE REQUIRED BY LAW TO GET THOSE BALANCED OUT.

SO FLO ANALYTICS WILL HAVE A PRESENTATION FOR US.

THEY'LL GIVE US A CERTAIN NUMBER OF SCENARIOS AND THEN IT'S MY HOPE THAT THE BOARD WILL BE ABLE TO PROVIDE SOME DIRECTION ON WHICH SCENARIO WE WOULD THEN MOVE FORWARD WITH.

WE WILL BE PUBLICIZING THAT INFORMATION SO THAT THE COMMUNITY MAY SEE THAT THERE WILL BE AS PART OF OUR REQUIREMENTS, WE WILL HAVE TO HAVE A PUBLIC HEARING TO RECEIVE FEEDBACK ON THAT PROPOSAL AND MAKE SOME DETERMINATION IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS.

SO THAT'LL ALSO BE ON THE AS PART OF THE REGULAR AGENDA UNDER THE SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT FOR THE APRIL 11TH MEETING.

AND THEN REAL QUICKLY, I TOLD YOU I WASN'T GOING TO DO A COVID UPDATE, BUT JUST THOUGHT YOU MIGHT BE INTERESTED JUST TO MAKE SURE OUR NUMBERS REMAIN LOW.

OVER THE LAST TWO WEEKS, WE'VE HAD 11 TOTAL CASES AND NO SCHOOL, ONLY ONE SCHOOL HAS HAD MORE THAN ONE CASE.

SO SEVERAL OF OUR SCHOOLS HAVE HAD ZERO CASES.

TEN OF OUR SCHOOLS HAVE HAD A SINGLE CASE IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS.

SO THINGS ARE STILL GOING EXTREMELY WELL.

OVERALL, THE COUNTY RATE IS COMING DOWN, I BELIEVE IT WAS 53 PER 100,000 LAST WEEK.

SO THAT'S AS LOW AS IT'S BEEN SINCE THE EARLY STAGES OF THE PANDEMIC.

AND WITH THAT, I'M GOING TO TURN IT OVER TO OUR HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR MICHELLE REINHARDT.

SO WE WORK VERY CLOSELY WITH THE BUSINESS OFFICE, WITH MICHELLE SCOTT AND SHERI DAILEY, AND WE ARE USING ENROLLMENT FROM FEBRUARY'S COUNT FROM FEBRUARY 1ST TO PROJECT PREDICT WHAT ENROLLMENT WILL BE LIKE FOR FALL.

AND SO WE BASED A LOT OF OUR STAFFING DECISIONS BASED ON THAT, ON THAT ENROLLMENT.

AND SO WE'VE MET WITH MOST OF OUR BUILDING PRINCIPALS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF HIGH SCHOOL RIGHT NOW, THEY'RE STILL COMPLETING FORECASTING.

AND THAT TAKES A LITTLE BIT A LITTLE BIT LONGER FOR US TO WORK WITH THEM ON STAFFING.

BUT WE HAVE MET WITH ALL OF OUR PRIMARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCIPALS, SOME OF OUR ALLIES, TO TALK THROUGH ANY CHANGES.

AND SO JUST TO KIND OF LOOP BACK TO A COMMENT EARLIER, WE ARE NOT THIS YEAR, WE'RE NOT LOOKING AT HAVING TO MAKE ANY REDUCTIONS IN FORCE.

WE DID A LOT OF THAT RESET LAST YEAR.

FORTUNATELY, WE WERE ABLE TO CALL BACK ALL OF THOSE PEOPLE AND OFFER THEM A POSITION LAST YEAR. UM, BUT WE WERE ABLE TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS AND STABILIZE OUR STAFFING BASED ON THE ENROLLMENT. SO WE ARE NOT LOOKING AT HAVING TO MAKE THAT LEVEL OF CHANGE.

THERE ARE SOME MINOR CHANGES THAT MIGHT OCCUR FROM ONE GRADE LEVEL TO A NEXT TO THE NEXT.

BUT THAT IS VERY NORMAL PROCEDURES, NORMAL PROCESSES THAT HAPPEN EACH YEAR.

AND SO ANYWAY, WE ARE JUST WORKING THROUGH ALL OF THOSE PIECES.

YOU'LL ALSO NOTICE THAT THIS TIME OF YEAR WE GET A LOT OF RESIGNATIONS, RETIREMENTS, AND SO THE CERTIFICATE IN CLASSIFIED PERSONNEL REPORTS TENDS TO BE LENGTHY.

SO LAST SCHOOL YEAR, OUR LAST FISCAL YEAR AND IT INCLUDED THREE AUDITS.

IT INCLUDED OUR ACCOUNTABILITY AUDIT, FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND FEDERAL GRANT COMPLIANCE.

AND WE, THE STATE AUDITORS, THEY ARE INDEPENDENT.

AND THEY AND TO PROVIDE ACCOUNTABILITY AND TO MAKE SURE THAT MANAGEMENT IS ENSURING COMPLIANCE AND HAVING ADEQUATE SAFEGUARDS OF PUBLIC RESOURCES FROM FRAUD, LOSS, ABUSE AND DESIGNED IMPLEMENTATION AND MAINTENANCE OF INTERNAL CONTROLS RELEVANT TO THE THOSE OBJECTIVES.

AND SO THE AUDIT DOES COVER THE USE OF PUBLIC RESOURCES AS WELL AS AGAIN THE COMPLYING WITH OUR OWN POLICIES AND PROCEDURES, INTERNAL CONTROLS AND THE AREAS THAT THEY AUDITED WERE BASED ON A RISK ASSESSMENT.

SO THEY ASKED FOR PRELIMINARY INFORMATION AND THEN THEY LOOK AT IT AND THEN THEY DETERMINE WHAT AREAS OF RISK THAT MIGHT BE THE HIGHEST.

SO THEY'RE LOOKING AT QUITE A BIT OF DATA EVEN BEFORE THEY START THEIR AUDIT.

IT'S A COUPLE OF MONTHS THIS PROCESS TAKES FOR US.

SO THEY FOR THE ACCOUNTABILITY AUDIT, THEY LOOKED AT PROFESSIONAL LEARNING.

THE STATE PROVIDES THREE PAID DAYS FOR PROFESSIONAL LEARNING AND THOSE HAVE THOSE HAVE COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS AND THAT THE FUNDS ARE USED APPROPRIATELY AND FOR THE PURPOSE THAT THEY'RE INTENDED FOR.

THEY REVIEWED PAYROLL AND SUPPLEMENTAL CONTRACTS USING ENRICHMENT LOCAL LEVY DOLLARS.

SO THERE WAS AN EXTENSIVE REVIEW OF A SELECTION OF RECORDS THAT WE PROVIDED TO THEM ACCOUNTS PAYABLE, GENERAL DISBURSEMENTS, AS WELL AS THE OPEN PUBLIC MEETING ACT.

SO AND SO THOSE WERE THE MAIN AREAS THAT THEY COVERED.

THERE WAS OTHER THEY THEY LOOKED AT QUITE A FEW THINGS, BUT THOSE WERE JUST SOME HIGHLIGHTS. SO THIS WAS A FOR THE PROFESSIONAL LEARNING.

DAVID KENNEDY'S DEPARTMENT, AS IN CARLA BARRETT, DID AN AMAZING JOB OF THEIR TRACKING LOGS AND AND EVERYTHING.

WE WERE ABLE IT WAS VERY IMPRESSIVE.

THEY DID A GREAT JOB.

AND SO AND THE HR AND PAYROLL TEAM WAS AMAZING.

THEY ALL OF THE APPROVALS AND ALL OF THE INTERNAL CONTROLS THAT THE DISTRICT HAS, IT IS THEY JUST DID AN AMAZING JOB.

FOR THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS, AGAIN, NO DEFICIENCIES AND NO MATERIAL WEAKNESSES.

SO THERE'S A LOT OF DIFFERENT FEDERAL DOLLARS COMING INTO THE DISTRICT.

AND SO THEY SELECT OF THAT $9 MILLION, THEY SELECT 30% OF AWARDS THAT TOTAL ABOUT 30%. SO TITLE ONE GRANTS WHAT IS $1.6 MILLION? THEY REVIEWED THAT ENTIRE GRANT AND DETAIL, AS WELL AS OUR ESSER COVID-19 ESSER FUNDS THAT WE RECEIVED FOR EDUCATION STABILIZATION.

AND THAT WAS $1.1 MILLION IN EXPENDITURES.

AND SO IT WAS IT'S THE RISK OF A FINDING IS, IS PRETTY, PRETTY GOOD TO HAVE A FINDING ON FEDERAL AWARDS BECAUSE THE THRESHOLD IS SO LOW ON GETTING [INAUDIBLE].

SO FOR US TO BE ABLE TO PASS ALL OF THE EXTENSIVE WORK THAT THEY DID ON THE AUDIT WITH NO FINDINGS WAS JUST WAS JUST EXCEPTIONAL.

SO VERY PLEASED TO REPORT BACK.

OUR AIR FORCE JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING COURSE, THE AF JROTC PROGRAMS AT BOTH BATTLEGROUND AND PRAIRIE WERE AWARDED THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE SCORE IN OUR RECENT FORMAL INSPECTION.

AND BECAUSE OF THE ANTICIPATED AMOUNT OF THE YEARBOOKS, WE'RE REQUIRED TO CONDUCT A FORMAL BID.

AND PART OF THAT PROCESS IS TO ADVERTISE IN A LOCAL NEWSPAPER ONCE A WEEK FOR TWO CONSECUTIVE WEEKS.

SO I AM HERE TO ASK PERMISSION TO GO AHEAD AND RELEASE THE ADVERTISEMENT.

PROJECTORS TYPICALLY HAVE A LIFESPAN OF AT BEST FIVE TO SIX YEARS, AFTER WHICH REPLACING THE BULBS DOES LITTLE TO IMPROVE THE CLARITY, BRIGHTNESS AND FOCUS OF THE ACTUAL PROJECTOR. SO WE HAVE SELECTED THE SAMSUNG 82 INCH TV BECAUSE IT'S BY FAR THE BEST PRICE AND WE ARE ALSO ABLE TO GET IT IN A VERY RAPID FASHION SOMEHOW.

APPARENTLY, THE 82 INCH SAMSUNG DEFIED ALL SUPPLY CHAIN ISSUES THAT EXIST IN THE WORLD.

WE WILL BE INSTALLING WIRELESS CASTING CAPABILITY TO ALL OF THESE, SIMILAR TO WHAT YOU SEE WITH THE TVS THAT WE HAVE IN THE BOARDROOM HERE.
